Chapter 3303: Underestimated Civilization

Chapter 3303: Underestimated Civilization

Rui’s eyes widened as he felt an unfathomable power surged from the Sun towards the elven continent. The sheer amount of light and radiation that the light elves began receiving vastly exceeded the normal amount by a great degree, each ounce of light began supercharging the flora that drank all of it up greedily.

RUMBLE!!!!!

Rui felt chills crawl across his skin as he felt the the sheer flux of sunlight illuminate the entirety of the elven continent, empowering the vegetation across the land invigorating their power.

He could feel Mother Mara growing stronger and stronger with each passing moment as she too mobilized all the power that she gained from the Sun, rapidly deploying it in battle.

RUMBLE!!!!!

“They can harness the power of the Sun to such an extent…” Rui grew stunned. “In that case, are the civilizations of the true world even superior than we thought. Have they already become a type-two civilization?”

A type-two civilization was a hypothetical civilization that could harness the power of their star, not just their planet. Given that the elves could harness seismic energy, radiation, and other forms of geothermal energy across their share of the planet, they were certainly well past an ordinary type-one civilization.

But the fact that they could harness the power of the Sun to such an extent meant that Rui had underestimated just how powerful the civilizations of the true world were. The only reason that human civilization could cope despite not having reached the scale of such a civilization was that they had esoteric matter to make up for the difference, compensating for the gap in power between human civilization and the civilizations of the true world.

’Sunlight is the source of all life. It is the fuel that sustains flora and vegetation. Did you really think we would settle for a normal amount?’ The tone of the resonating Mothers of Nature was intense. ’We have entered Overdrive mode, where all our flora and vegetation is in a supercharged state of metabolism. Now behold our power and despair, demon of death!’

RUMBLE!!!!!

Rui gritted his teeth as an unfathomable tsunami of wood and leaves converged on him from almost all directions, threatening to annihilate him where he stood. His mind was pushed to its very limits as he used Prophecy of the Void and the Soul of Nature to the very limit, gaining a truly extraordinary depth of foresight and insight into what awaited him in the future.

Death was what awaited him in the future.

Out of countless possible futures that could unfold based on his choices and the power of chance, an overwhelming majority of them reflected his death.

Almost all of the remaining reflected grave injury to the point that he would be incapacitated, and they eventually led to his death as well.

There existed only a scant handful of futures where he could possibly avoid being obliterated instantly.

WHOOSH!!!

He dashed off through the air as he wove through a singular, solitary path through a seemingly endless path of destruction, unleashed by none other than the light elves. A single possible set of choices that didn’t lead to his immediate death, unlike what he faced before.

And yet, it was not a path without harm.

SPLAT SPLAT SPLAT!!!

Rui gritted his teeth as he found himself in an onslaught of attacks that ground at him, ravaging his body and piercing his skin and flesh. The attacks of the Mothers of Nature were powerful enough to overwhelm even his strongest defenses despite the fact that they were created by none other than the Forge of Creation.

They were not enough to protect him from the destruction that the light elves had unleashed with the sole intention of destroying him.

WHOOSH

He barely evaded a titanic trunk moving fast enough to turn into a hazy blur with enough momentum to split him in half with raw blunt force alone, only to find himself point-blank, face to face with a barrage of spinning leaves, threatening to shred him to pieces.

Rui flipped as he pirouetted through the air, barely avoiding death at the hands of the giant leaf attacks of the dark elves, only to find himself face to face with a barrage of explosive projectiles that surged towards him, seeking to eviscerate him where he stood.

His eyes sharpened as his palms turned into blades of pure death, turning into arcs of destruction as he swung at them with a gu attack to cleanly disable their detonation mechanism.

And yet, the processing speed of the flora biotechnology had increased, making the responses of the biotechnology and those controlling the weapons increase by a significant degree.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMM!!!

The sheer power of the ensuing explosions was so great that they sheared off Rui’s flesh and skin as he struggled to defend against the unfathomably destructive antimatter explosions. Each attack that they unleashed on him proved to be far too much for him to possibly withstand without too much defense.

“Rgh…!” Rui gritted his teeth as he felt his flesh burn off once again. “Damn! At this rate, I will be slowly erased with each subsequent attack.”

He needed to find a way to withstand the offensive and ensure that his regeneration could keep up. The immense power-up that the elves had gotten was so great that his priorities reset from reaching Mother Mara and killing her with his gu to, once more, simply surviving the ambush that he had been put through.

’Attack!’ the resonating Mothers of Nature roared. ’Keep attacking! We can’t let him survive any longer. The longer this continues, the likelier it is that he will find some way to overcome this as well!’

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMM!!!

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMM!!!

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMM!!!

Rui stopped feeling pain after a while. His body entered a desperate condition as it pumped endorphins into his bloodstream like crazy, allowing him to completely enter an almost euphoric state of mind where pain simply ceased to exist.

His mind honed into one of extraordinary focus and concentration as he mustered every single ounce of energy and power to survive the tribulations that the light elves had inflicted on him.
