Chapter 3302: True Power

Chapter 3302: True Power

Rui’s eyes sharpened as a tremendous blast of wood emerged from behind him, threatening to crush and explode him into smithereens with nearly one tone of antimatter.

FLICK

In the blink of an eye, his pitch-black hands turned into an arc of pure death, cleaving the biotechnology explosive at precisely the right point to disable his enemy’s attack without causing the antimatter to go berserk.

A barrage of spinning leaves curved through the air, converging upon him with great speed and momentum.

WHOOSH WHOOSH WHOOSH!

He pirouetted through the air as he narrowly evaded being bisected in half, only to find himself before a barrage of branch attacks from the Mothers of Nature.

BOOOM BOOOM BOOOM!!!

A hasty guard empowered by Nemean Blossom and Body of Water allowed him to largely negate the impact, and yet he found himself face to face with an onslaught of roots seeking to crush him where he was within their heavy and right grip.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMM!!!!!

A profoundly destructive Yin-Yang Spear eviscerated the attack, spreading it far as Rui surged as his senses spread far and wide.

’The number of attacks they launch at me only keeps rising.’ He gritted his teeth.

The Mothers of Nature had truly begun pushing his stamina limits, using everything in their power to try and push him to the very brink.

They didn’t even mind that he had somehow become extremely insightful on what the flora attacks were going to do, reading them like a book.

’They don’t mind doing this for a whole day or even a month as long as I end up exhausted by the end of it and collapse unconscious.’

His eyes sharpened even as an omnidirectional barrage of attacks converged on him, threatening to annihilate him.

WHOOSH

The attacks crushed an empty image.

A feint.

’On the other hand, every time I get closer to Mother Mara…’

WHOOSH!

He launched himself straight at her, threatening to reach her with a single leap.

Only to find himself in front of an especially heavy onslaught of destructive explosions that detonated even before they could disable him.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMM!!!

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMM!!!

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMM!!!

A catastrophic series of explosions illuminated the darkness of the night sky with a bright green light in an extraordinary display of energy. The sheer energy they unleashed was so great that even Rui had to retreat, increasing the distance from Mother Mara.

’They don’t care what I do as long as I’m far away from the Mother of Nature. On top of that…’

BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM!!!!!

They kept firing away at him like they had infinite ammunition.

And for the most part, they did.

They kept the output high enough to force Rui to his maximum energy expenditure each second. He was always on the verge of being exploded by more power than he could possibly survive, and they only kept dumping more and more.

That wasn’t even the worst part.

His eyes shifted down to the ground thousands of kilometers below him.

The organic debris from all the weapons that he had dismantled using his Palm of Death was being absorbed into the ground by roots. Then the roots would fix the dismantled organic weapons and it would be reused to against him over and over and over.

’Since I’m being careful not to annihilate explosives, it makes it easier to recycle them.’

The reason he couldn’t annihilate the explosives was because the antimatter would get out of control and harm more than it harmed his enemies.

’I can’t defend, I can’t destroy, and I can’t keep doing this forever. How frustrating.’

This was the advantage that light elves had in their homeland and in their turf.

It was no wonder that they were considered invincible in Genora. Even Rui, with all his power, was limited to remaining on the defensive himself.

And yet, the worst had yet to come.

The earliest light of dawn had begun cracking through the darkness of the night sky. From the very edge of the horizon, a thin tendril of sunlight illuminated everything it touched. Rui closed his eyes as the Blood of Solaris happily absorbed the little light from the Sun at the break of dawn, enjoying some respite.

’You think the Sun favors you in this battle?’

The voice of the resonating sisters sent chills across his skin.

’You are wrong.’

Rui felt a profound sense of danger.

’We are strongest during the day.’

His eyes widened at those words.

’No one has befriended the Sun as we elves have.’

Their tone contained a hint of peril.

’Behold the endless power of the Sun.’

RUMBLE!

Rui shook where he stood as he beheld an inexplicable and unfathomable surge of power that came from the Sun itself.

’Nature is fueled by stars.’

RUMBLE!!!

The energy surge only grew stronger and stronger with each passing minute as dawn grew brighter and brighter.

RUMBLE!!!!!

Rui didn’t understand.

He didn’t understand where all this power was coming from.

And how could he?

Far away from Gaia in outer space, very near the Sun, was a giant… flower.

The flower orbited the Sun once a year at a very close range, keeping in line with Gaia’s angular velocity in its orbit around the Sun. It did not impede the the Sun’s light to Gaia but instead positioned itself to the side, to make sure that it didn’t alter the sunlight that the planet received.

The flower was a cutting-edge botanical biotechnology, an artificial botanical machine made from the DNA of many flora species, including a species of flower that existed at the very bottom of the ocean.

The species had evolved hyper-absorption of light due to how little sunlight it had received in the darkness at the very bottom of the ocean.

The titanic petals of the flower were actually carefully crafted organic bio-solar panels that were designed to trap almost one hundred percent of all the energy that it was exposed to from the star and even more from the rest of the energy that the Sun released each second.

It was a bio-dyson sphere, designed to siphon energy from the Sun and transmit the energy back to the elven civilization in the form of light. It only worked during the day, of course, for the Genora Continent was turned away from the Sun during the night.

It meant that everything that Rui had faced up until now was the light elves at their weakest.

’Behold our true power.’

RUMBLE!!!!!!!
