The Martial Unity

Chapter 3304: Bleeding Sustenance

Chapter 3304: Bleeding Sustenance

BOOOM BOOOM BOOOM BOOOM BOOOM!!!

He evaded a barrage of root attacks that sought to crush him where he stood, only to find himself in front of a myriad of spinning leaf attacks threatening to slice him into ribbons.

WHOOSH WHOOSH WHOOSH WHOOSH WHOOSH!!!

SPLAT SPLAT SPLAT!!!

He pirouetted through them with an elegant, well-timed twirl, allowing him to minimize the cuts he sustained from the attacks while he dodged the attacks from the branches from above using Phantom Step to leave feints in his wake that fooled even the Mothers of Nature.

And yet, each attack he evaded was merely one of a billion more to come.

The second he took a single step out of the onslaught of branches, he found himself face to face with a myriad of explosive wood projectiles right before his very face.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMM!!!

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMM!!!

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMM!!!

RUMBLE!!!!!

The world shook violently as the sheer destructive power that the light elves unleashed upon him was so intense that it rocked the heavens.

“Rgh…!”

Rui emerged from the explosion with his outer flesh sheared off by the intense heat of the explosion. Weaving Blood, along with the a gu-enhanced Hungry Pain, allowed him to swiftly kill other less important cells in his body and use them as fuel to replace the flesh in his body with a new layer of flesh.

And yet, even he knew that this couldn’t continue forever.

While the presence of sunlight, and that too lots of it, did indeed ameliorate his draining energy reserves by virtue of the Blood of Solaris, it could not compensate for the absence of the necessary nutrients and substances needed for him to sustain his body.

Energy wasn’t enough by itself.

There was more to life than just energy.

Each explosion that he withstood, each attack that he withstood, each wound that he endured, reduced the material availability of the necessary nutrition. Of course, with his Martial Soul, he had immense control over his body, so much so that he could communicate with each and every single cell in his body.

They each had their purpose, but not all of them were important to preserve when he considered the fact that he would die in the battle without enough sustenance for regeneration.

He ruthlessly began chopping away at parts of his body to fuel his regeneration as he allowed the gu to consume the cells that were not contributing to the battle in any way.

This was the only way to survive everything that the light elves threw at him. It wasn’t possible to evade every single attack that the Mothers of Nature unleashed upon him, since there were too many and they were too destructive.

Thus, he simply needed to seize control of his body resources and reallocate them now that his very survival was at stake. Abusing Weaving Blood to such an extent and at the cost of his nominal health was not without its price, of course. Each use of it beyond this point lowered his lifespan, but he didn’t have any reason to care about that, given that he was functionally immortal.

WHOOSH WHOOSH WHOOSH!!!

Boundless attacks converged on him as Rui weaved through them to the best of his ability. His eyes sharpened as he found himself face to face with giant organic spikes from a cactus-like species, threatening to impale him where he stood.

With a single breath, he spun, smoothly intercepting each attack and gently redirecting it into incoming attacks of great power, disabling the biotechnology with well-placed attacks that surgically dismantled detonation systems.

And yet, it wasn’t possible to negate every single attack.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMM!!!

He gritted his teeth as he emerged from the explosion with a burned body, immediately using Weaving Blood to heal his body, consuming his body from the inside as well.

The only good part was that because of the explosive cancer that he had adaptively evolved to contain the gu, the speed of Weaving Blood had also consequently improved, allowing him to almost instantly heal his wound in the blink of an eye as though they didn’t even exist.

The explosive attacks of the Mothers of Nature were powerful, but they weren’t the only kinds of attacks that he needed to worry about it.

His eyes widened as a myriad of flowering plants turned into destructive lasers, empowered by the light from the botanical Dyson sphere of the light elves, and unleashed an onslaught of destructive beams of pure light.

VMMM!!!

Rui’s eyes widened as he narrowly evaded being burned to a crisp from a converging wave of pure electromagnetic destruction.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMM!!!

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMM!!!

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMM!!!

The flowering population within the forest began going berserk, absorbing the power of sunlight before weaponizing against Rui, threatening to incinerate him where he stood.

His eyes sharpened as the Prophecy of the Void and the Soul of Nature allowed him to perceive the future itself, allowing him to avoid each and every single beam of light, pursuing the path of minimum damage to himself.

The flowers unleashed an onslaught of sunlight without any care for friendly fire, as the vegetation of the forest had been designed to absorb light rather easily, making use of any and all wasted power and reusing it to hone in on Rui once more and incinerate him where he stood.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMM!!!

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMM!!!

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMM!!!

He leaped through a web of lasers, narrowly coming out the other side as he found himself face to face with a giant flower with thick stamens.

Before he could even react, the flower exploded into a gust of pollen, sweeping across him in an attempt to hijack his body with pollen nanites designed to destroy him from the inside out.

Rui quickly erased the pollen with the power of the gu before the ground under him collapsed as an eruption of roots with great power and speed, swallowed him up before he could even react, threatening to kill him where he stood.

In the blink of an eye, he activated Hypertrophic Surge, using the Scriptures of Terra to unleash a catastrophically destructive outward seismic pressure wave to break out of the trap that the Mothers of Nature had ensnared him in.
