Chapter 60: Wolf Academy

Axe sneered at Oshan Dew. "Now it’s time to settle our score for why you were following us," he said, slamming his fist into his open palm with a wide grin.

Oshan Dew exhaled. "Not now. We need to get out of here. A place like this will have snakes at night. I will confess later. I promise."

Moon nodded. He didn’t want to linger here either.

With that, the group started to head back.

On their way back, Ugo suddenly spoke up. "By the way, Moon, do you want to attend the witch academy? I think next month is their recruitment day. Once you are admitted there, the academy will protect you from any wolf pack."

Moon thought for a moment, then asked, "What about wolves?"

Ugo smiled softly, though his eyes carried some melancholy. "They also have their own academy. There are a total of seven academies. Silas is going to be admitted there."

Moon looked at Ugo and noticed him staring at the dirt path, his head lowered.

"What about you? Do you also want to be admitted?" Moon asked softly.

Axe scoffed. "We are defective. Did you forget? Defectives have no place in the academies. Even their servants are low-level werewolves. Not a single defective or wolfless person can pass the boundary."

Nox nodded in agreement. "Yes, we would need to take an admission test. Witches too. Everyone has to pass the trial."

Moon looked at the three brothers and guessed they might have already tried to get the alpha’s permission and failed to secure a chance even to take part in the trial.

"We will go out after removing the mark to see what we can do," Moon said.

Oshan Dew, however, spoke up. "The admission is in a month. Are you sure you can make the preparations in this time?"

Everyone’s gaze suddenly fell on him.

They had almost forgotten an outsider was walking among them.

Oshan Dew felt a chill run down his spine. "Umm, I really am not your enemy. Okay? I have a lot of information you can use."

"Oh..." Moon nodded, then paused. "We will rest here."

In his mind, Moon was already calculating how he would enter the academy. Not the witch academy, but the wolf one.

To awaken his wolf mates to their prime state, he needed guidance.

The full moon was coming soon, and he was going to gamble on it to awaken these five brothers.

The resting place was surrounded by big boulders and rocks.

Ugo, Nox, and Oshan set up a temporary tent and camp to stay.

Once settled, Moon returned the belongings Oshan Dew had left behind in the treasure vault. His knife, iron hook, pins, ammo, and other metallic items were all gathered inside a small pouch.

As they were sitting near the fire, Moon signaled for Oshan Dew to start his story.

"Now, talk."

Ugo took out a cutlery set and neatly laid out fruits and meat.

Nox pulled out some wild nuts and leaned back against a rock, crunching on them.

Axe was lying on a mat, still feeling somewhat sick.

Moon had given him another vial of medicine, which clearly was different from the previous ones. Axe knew just by the taste that Moon hadn’t refined this batch himself.

Moon sat with Leo and Rio on his lap. After a full day of being locked inside a cage, they were now both huffing grumpily. Moon was feeding meat into their mouths.

Oshan’s gaze lingered on Leo and Rio for a moment before settling on the bonfire. He sat on the dirt, his arm resting on one of his knees.

"I was sent by someone. Who it is, I can’t tell. But I mean no harm to any of you," he said.

"Heh!" Axe scoffed, while Nox sneered.

"That’s not how a captive should speak," Moon said slowly.

"Am I a captive now? Are you sure you can even subdue me?" Oshan raised his brows.

"Want to try?" Moon’s voice didn’t waver.

Oshan chuckled. "I can’t tell you who it is. Whether you trust me or not is on you."

"Let me guess. It’s the Luna or Silas," Moon countered.

Oshan’s eyes didn’t even move. "You can guess whoever you want."

"Why don’t we just kill him? I think a human’s meat is also tasty. Especially a hunter’s meat," Nox said irritably.

Oshan’s gaze fell on Nox, and he smiled. Reaching into his shirt, he pulled out a tattered piece of leather—thin yet sturdy.

He tossed the leather scroll to Moon. ℴ

"I think this will be enough to prove my worth and my loyalty to you," Oshan said.

Moon caught the leather scroll mid-air and unrolled it before the firelight. Nox and Ugo leaned in closer as they crunched on their nuts.

"Hmm... a map for..." They simultaneously turned to Oshan in shock, their mouths hanging open.

"Yes, it’s the map to the Wolfen Tomb of Sire Armestra’s wife—the Gate to Wings. It was the missing piece from the Northern Ice Shield wolf clan," Oshan said calmly, the corners of his lips rising as he saw their shocked gazes.

"Who are you?" Ugo demanded, straightening up as his body tensed.

"A hunter from a deceased clan."

"Which one?" Nox asked, crunching on another nut.

"Is it necessary?" Oshan shrugged.

"Necessary. The map is neither enough to trust you, nor is it enough to let you leave here," Moon said, rolling the skin back up. The picture on the leather scroll was already engraved into his divine sense.

Oshan was about to say something, but suddenly, his body slammed forward.

Even Nox and Ugo were not prepared for this sudden change.

They watched with wide, confused eyes as Oshan turned pale in a second, slumping forward, clutching his abdomen, and groaning in pain.

His painful, red eyes fell on Moon’s cold, calm gaze as Moon rubbed the red fur of Leo nonchalantly.

"S-Stop... Please," Oshan mumbled, blood slipping down from the corner of his mouth.

The pressure lifted.

And he sprawled on the ground, taking a deep breath.

"Now, talk," Moon said calmly, his gaze landing on Oshan’s limp body.

This was the first time Moon had used his Mage’s spiritual pressure on someone in this new world.

He wasn’t sure if it would work, but it worked beautifully.

In his mind, he was happy, but he knew that to deal with Oshan Dew, he needed to establish dominance first.
