The Mage's 5 Fated Alphas (BL)
Chapter 59: Portable treasure vault
He paused and then added, "They are werewolf."
This time, the statue remained silent.
Moon felt a wave of sympathy for this ancient spirit.
He knelt and showed his respect. Holding his hands in a paying-tribute gesture, he muttered, "They don’t have spiritual Qi, but they have their own unique abilities. If the Venerable accepts one disciple from us, we will follow your last wishes and try our best to live up to your expectations."
"You are a cultivator," the statue finally uttered.
"Yes, I am, but I am not a warrior. I am an alchemist," Moon said softly.
The statue’s red eyes fell on Axe and his ten sharp claws.
"He can do it, but his inner energy is not suitable for cultivating my path," the statue scoffed.
Axe’s eyes dimmed.
Despite his playfulness, he was always eager to pursue the path of danger, war, and power. The chance was so close, yet he had no innate ability.
This was like a slap in his face.
"However, since the path of war chose him and led him to this place, he shares a destiny with me. I will give him a chance." The voice paused.
The cave fell into a deep silence, waiting for the verdict.
No one spoke for a while.
Then, the statue let out a soft sigh, and the wispy phantom of an old man flowed out of the statue.
An immortal spirit dressed in a black silk robe manifested.
Under his long robe, the inner attire was a war dress, ornate with tight-fitting black trousers and a vest.
The sash held his spiritual talismans, war weapons, and jade trinkets.
In his full black attire, the only color was a red ruby hanging on his chest.
It matched his red pupils.
Moon could tell by his tall build that he was definitely a heartthrob on his battlefield in his prime.
Now, though, he looked aged and tired, but what caught Moon’s attention was not his handsome build but the aura.
He still had that sharp sword aura.
A sword cultivator.
A sword cultivator without a sword.
The old spirit man stood in front of Moon.
"The chance lies in gaining an innate weapon conjured entirely from his own blood and Qi. How you achieve that will be up to you. Take this treasure vault and find your way. If you can do it within one year, I will officially grant my inheritance to him."
Moon stood still.
He was sending a message to the Moon Goddess.
’You know this old master? Who is he? How could a wolf make a spiritual weapon of an immortal?’
The goddess let out a soft sigh!
[Child, your cultivation level is too low for such a question. I can just tell you one thing. Wolves can also have Qi energy. You just have to transform them.]
Moon was surprised.
Then he nodded, the nod for both Warlord Lupine and for the Goddess no one knew he was connected to.
"I accept your challenge," Moon said.
"But it’s his challenge," Warlord Lupine said, pointing to Axe.
Moon’s brows knitted in annoyance. "It’s the same thing."
"Oh?" the statue felt amused.
He waved his sleeve, and suddenly the group of people landed in another scenario.
This time it was outside the vault. Right where Moon and Nox had blasted the ground and gone down.
The massive crater suddenly trembled.
Below them, the entire underground chamber shrank into a blinding streak of black light, flying straight up out of the earth and floating directly above the old master’s hand.
"I am giving this treasure vault to you. But I want something in return," Warlord Lupine said, combing his long beard. His eyes lingered on Moon.
Axe suddenly blocked his view and pushed Moon behind his back.
"Whatever you want, demand it from me. Don’t think about getting your hands on my mate," he said firmly. His deep voice was devoid of any fun.
"Oh ho, your mate? A man? Interesting! Can you even give anything?" Lupine’s voice was laced with contempt. "Regardless, I don’t want your mate, but I want his help with something that can revive me."
Moon pushed Axe to the side.
He felt ashamed of Axe for assuming nonsense; this spirit was clearly a respectable warlord. What a dumbass mate he had gotten.
He leaned forward and apologized, "Don’t take his words to heart, Venerable. I agree with your demand as long as it is within my capabilities."
"Hmm... no worries, no worries. All just youthful energy," Lupine waved his hand.
He spread his palm to Moon.
In his palm lay a black jade. Its black surface was inscribed with silver lines.
"This is a portable space," Lupine said. "Make a bond."
Moon’s surprised look didn’t escape Lupine’s eyes.
He chuckled. "I have been trapped for so long, and it’s your silly mate who broke the seal first. This is my gift to break my boredom."
Moon took the jade and bit his finger. Two drops of blood seeped into the jade. And after a while, it dissolved and vanished.
Lupine nodded in satisfaction, "I shall wait to see your adventure."
As he spoke, he went back to his statue, which was now literally inside Moon’s consciousness.
And he could clearly see it with his divine sense.
Moon’s heart was throbbing.
That was a real treasure vault and an ancient master. His eyes on Axe were like looking at a fat pig.
Nox grumbled in annoyance.
Axe was not happy either; he felt like he was being openly cuckolded out in the open.
Only Oshan Dew was the one with a calculating mind, watching them from the sideline.
At this moment, Moon heard footsteps. Ugo was pushing the cage holding Rio and Leo.
"You got them?" Ugo smiled.
His face was red from the heat in this barren, rocky land.
Axe’s eyes fell on Ugo, and his emotions stirred up.
He came closer and hugged Ugo tightly. "Dumbass, next time don’t just jump into the Black Sea like a silly dog. Make sure you jump like a charismatic hero." he slapped Ugo’s back twice, knocking his breath out. "Ugh! That was so ugly to see."
"Okay, okay, I know. Let go of me. You are making me sick," Ugo pushed Axe farther and huffed.
"We need to head back," Moon said from the side. His gaze fell on Oshan Dew.
"This..."
