The Mafia Lord Forgotten Bride
Chapter 20: Moving to New Central State.
The next day, Rauf had woken early with his bag packed.
If June was in New Central State, then he would be the one to go and bring her back home. New Central State was the biggest city in the country, and Henson was unable to narrow down the exact location she was in.
But that was the least of Rauf’s problems. He had connections with the biggest mafia group in the country, so it should be easy-peasy for him.
As soon as he dragged his bag out, Amie was at the door.
She wore short pants, if they could be called that, as every part of her ass was exposed, with a bra top that barely covered only her nipples. She let her hair flow down to her shoulders.
That hair was one of the things Rauf used to love about her, but not anymore.
Anyone would have thought she had learnt her lesson by now, but she seemed not to be giving up. And when her gaze moved to his box, her eyes widened and she folded her hands under her breasts to push them up.
Rauf’s eyes were on her face as he ignored every part she was trying to display.
"Are you going somewhere?" Her voice was small, as if she was a china doll that would break easily.
Rauf stared her down. He wanted to tell her that whatever he did was none of her business, but legally, according to the document he had signed, she was his wife, even if she wasn’t the one he had married.
"I’m going on a business trip."
Amie pouted. "A business trip? But we haven’t been together ever since you got discharged. You’ve been from one business to another. You’re always at the office. Is something wrong, baby?"
Amie was a smart woman. Rauf knew that if he was too obvious, she would find out that he knew, and that could be dangerous. He couldn’t let her know.
"I’m sorry, Amie. But a lot has happened to the business in my five years of inactiveness. I have to be active to build back our empire."
Those words didn’t seem to fit Amie’s brain.
"But darling, it’s been weeks since we last had sex. I miss you so much." She trailed her hand over her body.
It was slim and inviting. But it wasn’t the body Rauf craved.
"Sorry, Amie. I have to go."
He pushed forward. The very sight of her disgusted him.
But before he could go any further, Amie spoke.
"Did I do something wrong, baby? Have I offended you in any way?" Her voice quivered now.
She planned on playing the victim card. It used to work well when they started dating six years ago, before he went blind.
"I mean, you even burnt my clothes yesterday."
Rauf pinched his nose.
He had no time for her nonsense.
"I’ll compensate you when I get back, Amie."
Her eyes widened. "Really?"
Rauf nodded. "Yes. It’s a promise."
A smile slipped out of her lips. There was nothing she liked so much as being compensated, monetarily, of course.
Expressionless, Rauf stared at her. Of course, he was going to compensate her for everything June went through when he found her.
But every other thing could wait until he had found her.
Glad by the solution he had offered, Amie hugged him. She placed her head on his chest and moved his hand to her ass, hoping he would press it and actually forget about the trip.
Securing an heir for him was more important than the compensation.
But Rauf pulled away from her slowly.
"I have to go."
Without waiting for her goodbye, he went out of the mansion.
Henson was waiting for him just outside the mansion in his car.
"Good morning, boss." He bowed.
Now that Rauf was back, healthy and active, no one could stop his entrance into the Salvador Mansion anymore.
Rauf gave him a slight nod.
"Did you inform the Junox Mafia about our coming?"
Henson shifted slightly on his feet.
"I did, boss. But..."
Rauf turned his sharp gaze at him. There was the word again, but.
"They are busy now and won’t accept any visitors."
Rauf frowned. "Do I look like any visitor?"
"I’m sorry, boss. I couldn’t get directly to the superiors. But I was able to book a hotel close to their mansion. I’m certain that with you there, we should be able to get in touch with them soon."
That was plausible.
There was no way they would refuse his personal request.
He moved into the car, and Henson drove off.
Rauf looked back at the mansion.
"I need someone to keep an eye on Amie. I want every report of the things she’s up to."
Henson nodded. "Of course, boss."
Rauf sat back in the car and rested his back.
At that moment, he wished he had a picture of June or something that would bring back her face to him.
But the only thing he had was the memory of her in tears at the hospital.
"And what of Samir Trevor?"
Without looking back, Henson answered.
"Samir is making a move to pay a visit to the Tim Mafia in New Central State. They have had casualties, with them losing two men."
Rauf smirked.
"What’s the case on?"
"Acquisition of the drug licensing. Tim promised to help him get a percentage from Junox, but everyone knows Junox Mafia doesn’t deal with riffraff. Upon breaking the promise, there was a clash that led to two deaths. Samir is going over to collect his promise. He wouldn’t let it go."
Rauf scoffed.
"Does he think this is twenty years ago when he was in charge? The Trevor name is stale now. Let him be. I want him to learn his lesson and come begging again."
Henson nodded.
"Yes, sir."
Most of the rest of the ride was silent.
Rauf couldn’t help the small smile on his lips. At least something good was happening. Wherever June was, he was closer to her.
Once he was in New Central State, finding her shouldn’t be difficult.
"Wait for me, my love. I’ll come get you soon."
