The Mafia Lord Forgotten Bride
Chapter 21: Mafia Queen
Andy had always been nice to June, but ever since Chris’s visit, he had been acting as if June were an egg and not his assistant.
He barely sent her message, while going on every errands himself. And he didn’t bother explaining things to her. He only just let her watch him.
It irritated June and made her feel uncomfortable at work. Now, that her stomach had started bulging a bit, she needed more money than ever.
Did Chris say something to him?
There was only a way to find out.
She took the courage to question Andy. "Did I do anything wrong?"
Andy who was checking a cat, paused and looked up at her. "What do you mean?"
His focus never left the cat as he placed a bandage on its injured leg.
June swallowed, since she already started the conversation, she could as well get on with it. "You now act strange beside me, sir. You no longer question me or give me tasks to do. You don’t reprimand me when I do wrong too."
Andy stared at her. "Sorry. I haven’t been thinking. But, you did absolutely nothing to me."
Hearing that brought some sort of relief to her. She nodded and decided not to overthink it anymore.
If he said nothing was wrong, then nothing was wrong.
They were already working when Andy asked her all of a sudden. "What do you think of going back to medical school?"
June paused, her hand moved slowly to her stomach. She would love to go to school, but she didn’t have the means. "I’m fine working here."
Andy nodded. "I know. I’ve been watching you and you haven’t complained a bit about working here. But ever since the day you treated Mr Vassari’s dog. He had left high praises about it and I know he doesn’t just praise anyone like that. So, I was thinking if you would like to learn more and become more than an assistant."
The sort of confidence he displayed to her had never been displayed before. June felt tears in her eyes. Her father had always assured her that she was nothing but a useless bitch, but a compete stranger saw potential in her.
"Honestly, sir. I’ve always wanted to become a doctor, but I am not capable of going to medical school. I’ve a lot of things to do with money, so I can’t afford it."
Andy nodded as if those were the exact words he was waiting for. "Good. Don’t let your lack of funds spoil your dream. There are more than enough scholarships out there and I am certain you can get one."
June smiled, and here she was thinking Andy awas angry at her. He was helping her out.
The rest of her day was just as uneventful as June would have loved it to be.
She helped Andy in treatment, some owner of the pets came to pick them up, while others brought their pet over. It was a busy day and she was glad for that.
Because she didn’t have time to think of who she wasn’t supposed to think of.
Meanwhile, Rauf finally got to New Central State.
Henson drove them to one of the largest seven star hotel in the city. He had booked a room before their arrival.
Rauf settled himself in the room and stared from the window.
The city was large and busy.
People moved around on the road busy with their daily life.
Rauf pocketed as he stared at them, somewhere out of these thousands of people was June.
He wondered what she might be doing?
And how she might feel once she set her eyes on him, again?
The door opened and Henson came in. "Sir, I tried to make an appointment with Junox Mafia again but I was denied access."
With an expressionless face, Rauf turned to him. "Again?"
It was unusual of them to continue denying access. Even though Junox Mafia wasn’t what it used to be, but they always tried to promote themselves and the queen Mafia didn’t mind meeting new partners.
"I think something is wrong. Find out what’s happening with Junox?"
Henson nodded.
After he left, Rauf looked at the city again.
Maybe, it was time he finally broaden his business beyond his city alone. It was time he made a name for himself out here.
The ringing of his phone cut him off from his thought.
Amie.
He was tempted not to pick her call, but he was still conscious not to do anything to rouse her suspicion.
"Darling..." Her voice was high pitch. "Did you arrive safely at New Central State?"
Rauf groaned. "Yes!"
Amie purred on the phone. "How soon are you coming back? I’m already missing you, dear. "
Rauf nodded.
"I hope to be back soon." That’s once he found June, he hope to be able to convince her and bring her back to the mansion.
She was the only family he wanted.
"Darling, after you left I picked one of the cards in your room. I have a hangout with my friends. I was thinking I could do some shopping."
Rauf frowned, clenching his fist beside him. "Sure." He responded.
Amie sent a kiss through the phone. "Thank you, darling. I know you’ll be missing me too, darling. So, I am sending you something to keep you active till you’re back."
His phone beeped again and a message dropped.
"Enjoy the view, darling. I’ll be missing you."
She hung up.
As soon as she hung up, his phone beeped again. And again.
Rauf stared at his phone for a while.
What extent was Amie willing to go to keep up the charade? And more importantly, what did she hope to gain in everything?
He couldn’t help but think it was Samir that might have put her through this.
This might be his revenge for what he did to him five years ago.
But what he did was only a revenge for what Samir had done for him in the first instance.
He opened the messages.
First, it was alert from a shopping mall. His card had been used to purchase clothes worth thirty thousand dollars.
Rauf frowned. Had she been waiting at the mall before asking him? She already has plans of spending his money, even without his permission.
The second was also alert of things she had bought.
Rauf deleted the messages.
Then he opened the last message she had sent to him and he frowned.
It was a naked picture of Amie, she placed her hand right below her breast pushing it out and her private part was also pushed towards the camera.
She was lying in his bed, in his bedroom.
She wrote the caption, always available for you.
Rauf waited.
The picture was supposed to make him feel something, probably arouse or a twitch in his dick. If he wasn’t going to lie, Amie had the body of a model. Slim, curvy at just the right place, and still fleshy enough that would make one grip onto her.
It was part of the reason he had crushed on her then.
He used to imagine himself banging her tiredlessly until she screamed his name. But, he still wouldn’t let her go, until all she could remember was his name.
But all that had been a fantasy of when he couldn’t have her, but now staring at her naked picture, he felt nothing but sheer disgust all run all over him.
It was hard to believe he once craved this.
After trying the lingerie effect and seeing that it had no effect on him, she thought the next thing was to send a picture of her in her birthday suit
Disgust.
He deleted it.
There was no point keeping a picture he had no interest in.
Then he continued to stare at the people moving on the road.
If only he knew exactly where June was, he would have driven down there immediately and asked her to come with him.
He was certain that with the sort of feeling they once shared, it would be easy for her to come home with him.
With her, he wouldn’t mind building the family his mother craved. He wouldn’t mind getting an heir.
The thought of it alone brought a smile on his face.
Henson came back.
"What did you find out?"
"Sir, I found the reason for the Junox Mafia rejection."
Rauf smiled. Finally, something interesting.
"The Mafia Queen is ill."
