The Mad King's Heir
Chapter 152: Situationship
Xiu Ying’s smile fell the second she heard him stammer like that. She gave him one job. One fucking job and this asshole fucked it up. She told him to keep this operation a secret. It had to be a surprise attack. That was the whole point.
"Where is he?" she asked. She could only assume that he would mobilize all forces to go get him. They could only hunt him down, right?
General Vane bowed his head even lower, and she knew. She knew that Blue Sapphire had already acted quickly. They must have already taken him off Elora. "Your Majesty, we are short-staffed, but I did send everyone I could. We are still pursuing him, but there is no sign of him so far."
Xiu Ying sneered. Since Li Jun wanted to play it this way rather than come over obediently, she could only go for the person he valued. It was a steep mountain to climb, but she was happy to climb it as long as she got what she wanted.
"Did you inform General Yu about the imperial order?" she asked, and the man’s heart skipped a beat.
"I I I... I did, but I didn’t think," he stammered, his body trembling slightly.
Xiu Ying sighed and said, "Then I am left with no choice but to issue a warrant for General Yu for aiding a wanted criminal." When General Vane heard this, he almost collapsed on the spot. Had her majesty gone crazy?
Arresting Yu Wen was the stupidest thing he had ever heard. It was career suicide for him, but if he didn’t do it, she might arrest him for insubordination and make his life a living hell.
"I will send over the order. This time do as you are told. This is the last chance I am giving you," she said before hanging up. The general released a shaky breath. The call had long ended, but he still felt a chill lingering in the room.
He sat down for a second, trying to calm himself down, but before he could feel a sense of ease, his commander rushed in, looking flustered. "Why are you rushing in here without knocking? Have you lost your fucking mind?!" He scolded him, expressing the rage he was repressing in his heart.
"My apologies, but something happened. Something big," the commander said, his heart in his chest. General Vane jumped up and immediately followed him out.
Something big did happen, and it was all because of Princeton. Having been given the go-ahead, he approached Helion’s warship stealthily. By the time they figured out what was going on, it was already too late.
His entire team had advised him to wait for the rabbit to leave the nest, but where was the fun in that? Princeton wanted to sneak into their warship and blow it up from the inside with his prize in his hand.
Not even the seer could see this one coming. He was fast asleep in his bed when his cabin was suddenly filled with gas. He woke up coughing his lungs out. He desperately crawled out of bed to get his gas mask in his emergency kit.
Suddenly, a pair of boots appeared in his blurry vision. He looked up at his savior, but he realized then that he wasn’t there to rescue him but rather that he was the culprit. The man had a mask on with only his eyes being visible. He stared him down with a sinister air around him. Kai Jing couldn’t see his face, but he could tell the man was laughing at him.
Princeton kicked the emergency kit, and the mask rolled to the ground along with other things. Kai Jing’s eyes shone with hope. He crawled towards it in desperation. His breathing turned shallow, and his eyes drooped. In a last-ditch effort, he reached his fingers towards the mask. The tips of his fingers brushed against it, but his limbs lost strength.
A shadow suddenly fell on him. The man had crouched down, and his gloved finger gripped his hair hard like it were about to be pulled from the roots. Kai Jing grimaced in pain, tears filling his already blurred eyes.
Princeton clicked his tongue, annoyed. This weak thing was the one causing such a fuss. His face wasn’t even nice to look at. His eyes shone with a malicious glint. He slammed Kai Jing’s face hard into the ground, breaking his nose. Blood trickled down his face, the crimson droplets dripping on the ground. Kai Jing didn’t even make a sound. All he saw was black spots before he passed out cold.
Princeton bagged him up and carried him out of the cabin. The minute he left, the warship ruptured in a blinding flare, its steel frame unraveling into shards that scattered like burning stars. A silent shockwave rippled through the void, leaving only drifting wreckage and destruction.
By the time Helion realized what had happened, it was already too late. Princeton pulled his long hair back while staring at the unmoving black bag. He kicked it with the tip of his boot, and the man inside tipped over.
A smile suddenly appeared on his lips, a rather unsettling smile. He took a picture of the black bag and sent it to Damian. He thought the man would respond as fast as usual and praise him for his hard work. Maybe he would even reward him with a good time.
That’s what he was thinking, but after waiting for five minutes, Damian didn’t even see the message. It was unread. Princeton creased his brows; his jaw clenched. What could Damian possibly be busy with? Thinking he must be training or something, he waited for an hour, but Damian didn’t respond.
Annoyed half to death, he called him, but the man didn’t pick up. This had never happened before. What Princeton didn’t realize was Li Jun had taken it upon himself to solve his uncle’s love problems.
The only way he could get his uncle off his back was to get him out of the situationship and into a happy, healthy relationship. The healthy part was questionable, but he could at least try. Li Jun had long confiscated his uncle’s phone. It wasn’t an easy task, but he managed to convince Damian in the end.
