THE LAST KEEPER

Chapter 465: KEEPER RETURNS

  • Next Chapter

Morning sunlight poured through the towering stained-glass arches of the Convergence Hall, illuminating the polished white marble rotunda in radiant shades of amber and gold. The grand council chamber of Alika City was filled with hundreds of senior officers, clan elders, and academy masters from every corner of the continent.

At the center of the circular hall stood a massive round table carved from solid grey granite, surrounded by twelve high-backed wooden seats. Above the council table hung the great bronze chandelier of Tagayia, forged in the shape of a blooming star and decorated with the coats of arms of all five provinces.

Sagiri walked into the hall wearing his formal dark southern tunic with silver-stitched sleeves, the radiant hilt of Nokai resting quietly across his back. Beside him walked Healer Lira in her emerald academy robes and Lady Kiana draped in the elegant silver-and-black silks of the Sekana clan.

Behind them marched Squad 25 in crisp formation, their polished armor plates gleaming under the bright morning light. Kaka held his head high with a proud northern grin, while Kiuga carried the leather-bound tactical records and Bukata, Maita, Zolinka, and young Ulekai took their formal positions as ceremonial guards.

The leaders of the five realms stood from their seats around the circular table, bowing with profound respect as the young Keeper entered. Grand Zorath Zaka Asakana placed his fist over his heart from the northern seat, his weathered face softening with paternal pride as he looked at his son Kaka.

In the western seat, Kun Nakia Zawadi nodded respectfully, her sharp eyes clear, calm, and steady. Beside her sat Chief Tendai Mbeki of the Central Molakwa forges, Chief Linga Maaka of the Eastern medical provinces, and General Zafaru representing the forty thousand spears of the Southern Host.

Behind the circular table, an ancestral memorial brazier burned with a steady white flame, honoring the heroes who did not live to see this day. The names of Shadow General Tsaka, General Felunka, and countless fallen soldiers were carved into the polished silver base of the flame.

Marshal Salka and Grand Marshal Senraki stood beside the imperial dais, their veteran eyes scanning the assembly with quiet vigilance. The entire chamber fell into absolute, reverent silence as Supreme Mandra Taziraka stepped forward to open the Great Summit.

“For sixty long years, our continent has bled in darkness and suspicion,” Taziraka began, his deep, resonant voice echoing off the high stone vaults. “We built high stone walls, harbored ancient grudges, and allowed shadow conspirators to turn brother against brother.”

“We watched our academies send children into battle, and we almost allowed the frozen tyranny of Glacial Lanka to consume our lands,” Taziraka continued, looking across the assembled chiefs. “Yet in our darkest hour, salvation did not come from ancient dynasties or iron crowns.”

“It came from the courage of young warriors who refused to let hatred define their future,” the Supreme Mandra said, extending both hands toward Sagiri. “It came from the Last Keeper of N’folu, who carried the burden of the past so that the living could be free.”

A thunderous wave of applause swept through the grand hall, with officers and clan elders striking their armor plates in unified salute. Sagiri stepped forward to the center of the granite circle, bowing his head with humble dignity before looking up at the assembly.

“For sixteen years, my clan was treated as a curse, a weapon, or a sacrificial shield,” Sagiri spoke, his clear voice filled with calm authority. “The ancients believed that a single Keeper must carry all the grief and memories of the world in solitary darkness.”

“We have proven that ancient belief wrong,” Sagiri continued, his dual-colored amber and silver eyes sweeping across the leaders of North, South, East, West, and Central. “The living memory of our ancestors does not belong to a dark cave. It belongs to all of us, shared in the light of day.”

“The five primordial relics resting in my blood are no longer weapons of war and division,” Sagiri declared, touching the hilt of Nokai. “They are the foundation stones of our shared origin. They remind us that before we were divided into warring provinces, we were one family.”

Grand Zorath Zaka Asakana stood from his northern chair, his booming voice ringing through the rotunda. “The North has fought many bitter wars, but today we choose brotherhood! The Asakana and northern clans formally yield all border claims and pledge our iron to the united realm!”

Kun Nakia stepped forward, placing her carved predator blade flat upon the granite table. “The hunters of Sawaka and the Tsanka tribe lay down their ancient border feuds. The West stands with the Keeper in defense of our shared borders.”

Chief Tendai Mbeki slammed his heavy, calloused hand onto the stone with a joyous laugh. “The central forges will melt down twenty thousand siege shields to forge farming plows and water pumps for every village from the northern pines to the southern dunes!”

“And the eastern provinces will open three hundred regional healing clinics, training southern and northern youths in the art of herbal restoration,” Chief Linga Maaka added with a warm bow. “Medical knowledge and life-saving remedies will flow freely across every road.”

General Zafaru and Master Sandshade Koru stepped forward from the southern delegation, raising their bronze-tipped spears high into the air. “The Southern Host submits its arms to the grand alliance. The South and North shall never raise weapons against one another again!”

Marshal Salka stepped up beside Grand Marshal Senraki, addressing the assembly with calm, tactical wisdom. “The Ten High Schools shall merge their curricula into a unified continental academy network, training future generations in defense, diplomacy, and shared heritage.”

“No child will ever be bred for shadow warfare or sacrificed in forgotten bio-laboratories,” Grand Marshal Senraki proclaimed, his hand resting on his sword hilt. “Our legions will serve solely as protectors of the common peace.”

Supreme Mandra Taziraka smiled warmly, unfolding a massive parchment scroll illuminated with gold leaf and crimson ink. “Then let it be written into the eternal annals of our history. The five provinces shall be dissolved as separate warring nations.”

“From this day forth, our continent shall restore its ancient, primordial name,” Taziraka announced, holding the great scroll high for all to see. “We are the unified realm of Tasaka!”

The entire assembly erupted in deafening cheers, the roar of approval shaking the very foundations of the Convergence Palace. Outside the high stained-glass windows, the brass bells of Alika City began to chime in joyous celebration, their ringing tones echoing across the sunlit plains.

Kaka pulled Kiuga and Bukata into a ferocious headlock, laughing so loudly that his voice echoed above the brass bells. Bukata grinned broadly despite his healing ribs, clapping his massive gauntlets together with genuine joy.

Maita and Zolinka cheered alongside young Ulekai, waving their hands toward the roaring crowd in the upper galleries. The young cadets looked at one another with bright, glowing smiles, knowing their struggles had finally borne fruit.

Lady Kiana stood beside Sagiri, her cool grey eyes shining with quiet tears of relief as she watched the historic reconciliation. For the first time in five centuries, the Sekana and N’folu stood honored, embraced, and celebrated by the entire world.

Lira took Sagiri’s hand, her soft fingers squeezing his palm with deep, unspoken love. Sagiri looked into her misty eyes and smiled, feeling the Five Relics pulsing with gentle, warm serenity within his chest.

The long shadow of the past had finally lifted from the earth. Hand in hand with his companions, the Last Keeper looked toward a bright and open horizon as the true dawn of Tasaka began.
