Chapter 460: THE DANCE

The pillar of golden-emerald light carried the spirits of Squad 25 smoothly upward through the vast, starlit expanse of the Archive. Below them, the transformed white marble vaults glowed with peaceful, eternal warmth.

Around the ascending platform, rings of silver and amber stardust floated like rings around a radiant planet, holding the organized history of ancient Tasaka. The crushing weight that had threatened to destroy Sagiri's soul had vanished into pure harmony.

Just beneath the upper threshold where the blue sky of Karokai Valley was visible, the ascending light slowed to a gentle halt. A magnificent ring of translucent golden glass formed beneath their boots, resting at the very gate between the two worlds.

Standing in the center of the golden platform was a colossal silhouette of pure obsidian and starlight. Across its spectral chest hung the master sash of the First Keeper, the ancient ancestor who had forged the blade of Nokai five thousand years ago.

The figure held a spectral black sword identical to Nokai, but its glowing violet eyes were filled with solemn respect rather than anger. It did not project the chaotic malice of the void; it carried the pure, refined presence of a master warrior.

"You have broken the curse of isolation and shared our memory with those you love," the First Keeper spoke, his deep voice echoing across the golden threshold. "You have proven the strength of your heart, young Chief."

"I did not do it alone," Sagiri replied, standing tall before the founder. "My brothers and sisters walked through the dark to hold my hands."

"A true leader draws strength from his companions," the ancestor answered, raising his spectral blade into a formal martial guard. "But before you carry this memory into the sunlit world of men, you must prove you possess the martial balance to wield it without losing your center."

Kaka stepped forward with his twin battleaxes raised, his eyes narrowing at the glowing silhouette. "Another fight? We already broke your nightmare, old man!"

"Stand down, Kaka," Sagiri said gently, placing a hand on his friend's broad shoulder. "This is not an enemy trying to kill us. This is the sacred rite of confirmation for the Supreme Chief."

Sagiri drew Nokai from his back, the silver veins along the dark steel glowing with flawless, steady brilliance. The twenty floating blades arranged themselves into a relaxed, hovering crescent behind his shoulders.

The First Keeper nodded in silent approval, and twenty identical spectral blades formed in the air around him. The two masters stood ten paces apart on the golden glass, their breathing synchronizing into a single, focused rhythm.

The First Keeper initiated the duel with blinding speed, executing the opening movement of the sacred Desert Dance of the Forefathers. He glided across the glass floor like a phantom of wind, his blade arcing toward Sagiri's neck in a graceful, lethal curve.

Sagiri did not flinch or retreat into a passive defense. He met the founder's blade with a precise, fluid parry, the clashing void steel ringing like a pure silver bell across the golden threshold.

The forty floating blades clashed in mid-air above them, spinning and intercepting each other in a breathtaking dance of spatial geometry. Sparks of silver and gold rained down onto the glass, illuminating the squad's amazed faces.

"Look at that footwork," Kaka whispered in awe, lowering his heavy axes as he watched the duel. "It's like watching a northern winter blizzard dance with a southern sandstorm."

"He isn't just using N'folu techniques," Kiuga analyzed, his sharp eyes tracking every rotation. "Sagiri is seamlessly blending the heavy kinetic parries of Galka with the fluid dodging of the Sandshades and the spatial steps of Sekana."

Maita and Zolinka watched with rapt attention, noting how Sagiri's movements left no gaps in his defense. "He moves without wasted momentum," Maita murmured. "Every step is completely balanced."

The First Keeper pressed the attack, executing three rapid thrusts aimed at Sagiri's center line. Sagiri used the earth density of the Living Stone Hammer to anchor his stance, effortlessly deflecting each strike with minimal movement.

Sagiri spun on his heel, shifting his weight into the low, predatory stance of the West. He swept the flat of his blade across the ancestor's guard, disarming the spectral weapon without inflicting a single wound.

The First Keeper's blade tumbled into the air, dissolving into soft silver sparks before it could touch the ground. The twenty spectral blades hovering overhead froze in place, slowly softening into gentle golden stardust.

The ancestor stood in the center of the platform, looking down at his empty hands with a profound, peaceful smile. He placed his right fist over his heart in the ultimate warrior salute of ancient N'folu, bowing deeply before the young Keeper.

"Your blade is balanced by wisdom, mercy, and brotherhood," the First Keeper declared, his voice filled with pride. "You have surpassed every master who came before you."

"The knowledge of our people belongs to the living," Sagiri answered, returning the ancient salute with deep humility. "I will ensure that no child ever has to bleed in the dark again."

The First Keeper smiled warmly, his colossal form dissolving into a brilliant stream of pure silver light that flowed directly into Nokai's steel. The blade hummed with newfound perfection, completely stabilized and ready for the world above.

"The rite is finished," Lady Kiana announced, her dust-rose eyes shining with joy as the final barrier dissolved. "The gate to the physical world is fully open."

Lira stepped up to Sagiri's side, wrapping her hand around his fingers as a soft mountain breeze from the surface blew down through the opening. "Let's go home, Sagiri."

"Yes," Sagiri replied, looking around at his squad with unshakeable pride. "Let's go back to our brothers."

With a single shared step, Squad 25 stepped into the radiant pillar of light, ascending into the bright morning sunshine of Karokai Valley. The trial of the Living Memory was complete, and the new era of Tasaka had arrived.
