Chapter 424: THE ALLIANCE

Colossal Zaira surged across the vast golden grasslands of the Central Plains, her massive body gliding smoothly over the rolling hills.

Ahead on the horizon rose the grand industrial city of Molakwa, its towering black iron chimneys and stone foundries pumping thick white steam into the twilight sky.

Molakwa Forge Academy was the beating heart of continental engineering, where master smiths and scholars had crafted weapons for generations.

As Zaira slowed her pace near the eastern iron gates, thousands of foundry workers and apprentice smiths gathered on the stone ramparts to gaze in awe at the titan serpent.

Chief Tendai Mbeki stood waiting at the main gatehouse, wearing his heavy leather smithing apron and soot-stained iron gauntlets.

Beside him stood Banga, who had ridden ahead from Kovura with the vanguard engineers to inspect Molakwa’s production facilities.

"Welcome to the Great Foundry, Supreme Chief," Tendai Mbeki said, striking his chest in respectful salute as Sagiri dismounted from Zaira.

"How are the preparations for the Central Front progressing, Chief Tendai?" Sagiri asked, walking alongside the burly engineer through the bustling outer courtyard.

"Our smiths are working around the clock, but we have encountered a critical obstacle," Tendai explained, leading them toward the Grand Crucible hall.

"Lanka’s heavy Soulless automata are constructed from a cold-forged alchemical alloy," Banga added, adjusting his crystal visor. "Standard kinetic impacts cannot penetrate their armor plates."

"Worse still, our existing kinetic barrier generators overheat and fracture after only a few minutes of continuous bombardment," Tendai said with a frustrated sigh.

They entered the Grand Crucible, a massive domed hall filled with roaring blast furnaces, glowing rivers of molten metal, and giant pneumatic trip-hammers.

Dozens of veteran engineers were gathered around a disassembled barrier cannon, arguing over complex blueprint scrolls spread across heavy iron worktables.

Sagiri walked directly to the central worktable, his dual-colored eyes taking in the complex gear assemblies and cracked crystal focus chambers.

"You are trying to absorb the force of Lanka’s siege engines using rigid resistance," Sagiri observed quietly, running his fingers along the polished iron barrel.

"Is there another way to withstand a multi-ton kinetic strike?" Tendai asked, leaning forward with deep curiosity in his dark eyes.

"You do not resist the energy," Sagiri answered calmly. "You redirect and invert the frequency using ancestral geometric matrices."

Sagiri closed his eyes for a brief heartbeat, reaching deep into the vast ocean of primordial knowledge preserved inside the Archive.

Nokai hummed softly on his back, and faint silver light radiated from Sagiri’s fingertips as he drew a series of intricate geometric diagrams in the air.

The ancestral schematics of ancient Tasaka hovered before the astonished smiths, displaying the harmonic ratios required to forge perpetual kinetic dispersion cores.

"Banga, align the crystal refraction lenses according to this hexagonal grid," Sagiri instructed, pointing to the glowing silver projection.

Banga nodded eagerly, his nimble fingers already reassembling the delicate focus crystals inside the cannon’s inner breech.

Sagiri walked to the primary melting pot, where a massive vat of liquid iron and starlight crystal boiled under intense volcanic heat.

He extended his right hand over the bubbling metal, channeling the boundless, indestructible density of the Living Stone into the molten alloy.

At the same time, Sagiri released a steady stream of silver void energy from his fingertips, weaving microscopic stabilization threads throughout the liquid metal.

The boiling alloy transformed instantly, shifting from a dull reddish-orange into a brilliant, iridescent silver-black liquid that hummed with immense vibrational power.

"Pour the molds now," Sagiri commanded softly, stepping back from the forge platform.

Tendai Mbeki shouted orders to his master smiths, who quickly tipped the massive crucible and guided the glowing liquid into the heavy cannon casings.

Within minutes, the newly forged components were quenched in sacred cooling oils, producing a deep resonant chime that rang through the entire foundry.

Tendai’s veteran artificers rapidly assembled the prototype Kinetic Barrier Cannon, locking the silver-veined barrel and crystal pulse chambers into a reinforced mobile carriage.

"Let us see if the ancestral designs hold true," Tendai said, his face glowing with fierce excitement as they wheeled the weapon out to the testing grounds.

The proving ground was a reinforced stone quarry outside the city walls, lined with captured Lanka automata chassis and thick iron blast shields.

Tendai mounted the control platform of the prototype cannon, pulling the primary ignition lever to activate the barrier projection array.

A translucent dome of shimmering silver-blue energy expanded outward from the emitter dish, enveloping the entire testing platform in a hum of protective power.

"Fire the heavy siege catapults!" Tendai roared to the testing crew on the opposite ridge.

Three massive granite boulders, each weighing several tons, were hurled toward the barrier platform at terrifying speed.

When the massive rocks struck the shimmering energy dome, they did not shatter the barrier; instead, their kinetic energy was instantly neutralized and absorbed into the surrounding earth.

The multi-ton boulders dropped straight down to the ground like harmless pebbles, leaving the silver-blue shield completely stable and cool to the touch.

"By the ancestors," Tendai whispered, his jaw dropping in utter astonishment at the flawless defense.

"Now test the offensive disruption pulse," Sagiri said, standing calmly beside the control console with his arms crossed over his chest.

Tendai recalibrated the power switch, aiming the long silver-veined cannon barrel directly at three heavily armored Soulless test chassis fifty yards away.

He pulled the firing cord, releasing the stored kinetic energy in a concentrated, high-frequency shockwave of radiant silver light.

The beam of compressed vibrational force struck the target dummies with absolute precision, bypassing their outer alloy plates entirely.

Inside the armor, the internal alchemical cores and command circuits instantly pulverized into fine metallic dust, causing the heavy automata to collapse into inert piles of iron.

A stunned silence fell over the quarry, followed by a thunderous cheer from every smith, apprentice, and soldier gathered along the ramparts.

"It works," Banga said, a broad smile spreading across his usually reserved face. "The pulse shatters the internal mechanisms without wasting power on the armor."

Chief Tendai dropped to one knee before Sagiri, pressing his iron-clad fist firmly against the stone earth.

"With these weapons, our Central defense line will be completely unbreakable," Tendai declared, his deep voice trembling with fierce loyalty.

"I will put every one of our five hundred foundries to work immediately," Tendai added. "Two hundred barrier cannons and twenty thousand disruption rounds will be ready before sunrise."

"Ensure the weapon carriages are distributed to the forward trench lines along the Great Highway," Sagiri instructed, lifting the chief back to his feet.

Sagiri climbed to the top of Molakwa’s highest observation tower, feeling the cool night breeze brush against his dark hair.

To the north, dark storm clouds were gathering over the distant horizon of the Central Plains, where Lanka’s second invasion force was already marching.

Sagiri looked out into the gathering darkness, knowing that the greatest meatgrinder of the war was rapidly approaching the central flatlands.

Behind him, the foundries of Molakwa roared to life with unstoppable fury, illuminating the night sky with the golden light of an awakened continent.
