Chapter 168 The command STOP Pt 2
Chapter 168: Chapter 168 The command STOP Pt 2
Talia’s POV
Viktor’s claws were frozen mid-swing. His eyes were wide, and they were filled with shock and fear.
I looked at his rogue warriors, and they were all frozen, with their faces showing a mask of horror. I smiled coldly, because I was tired of them cheering for Viktor, and throwing around mocking words, since the Alpha challenge began.
They had come here expecting an easy victory, but they had not expected to face a Silvertongue, and they had not expected to be frozen by a single word.
For the first time since I had seen him in this battle field, he looked terrified.
I wanted to savor the moment, because I wanted to remember this forever, that the greatly feared Viktor, the rogue Alpha who had terrorized packs and killed Alphas, was afraid of something, and that was because of me.
I walked toward him.
My footsteps were slow and deliberate, as the ground beneath my feet seemed to hum with power.
Each step I took sent ripples through the frozen air. The wolves I passed could not move, but I saw their eyes tracking me, filled with wonder and fear. I was the only thing moving in the entire world, at this moment.
The air around me crackled with energy. I could feel the eyes of the frozen wolves on me, even though they could not move.
I kept walking, until I stopped in front of Viktor.
I had to raise, and stretch my neck to look up at him. Even though he was frozen, and even helpless, he was still huge. But I was not afraid anymore, because the power inside me burned too brightly for fear.
It burned too brightly for anything except the will to save my mate.
He was massive. His body towered over me, with his claws that were still raised, and his teeth that were still bared. But he could not move, he could not hurt me, and he could not hurt anyone ever again.
I looked up at him.
His eyes were fixed on me, wide and terrified, and I could see something like recognition in them. Like he knew what I was now, like he knew who I was, and like he knew he had made a terrible mistake.
I looked at him with the anger still burning in my chest, and I felt the power burning in my eyes.
I could feel the heat radiating from my gaze, and the intensity of my anger, and my love combined into something that could not be denied.
"You will not touch him," I said.
The words hung in the air like a judgment. They were not just a statement, they were a command, a promise, and a warning that would echo in his nightmares for the rest of his life.
My voice was steady, but it carried the same weight as before, and Viktor’s eyes widened even further.
I saw the muscles in his neck strain, and I saw his claws twitch. He was fighting the power with everything he had, but it was useless, because the Silvertongue magic was older than him, and stronger than him, and it would not be broken.
He tried to move, tried to break free, but he could not. The power held him in place like chains of iron.
I turned away from him, and I walked to Kaelen.
Each step felt heavier than the last. 𝑓𝑟ℯℴ𝓂
The power was draining me, and pulling at my strength, but I could not stop. I would not stop, because Kaelen needed me.
And I would walk through fire for him.
He was frozen on his knees, with his body covered in wounds, and his dark fur soaked with blood. His gray eyes were fixed on me, and wide with shock and wonder.
I knelt beside him.
The ground was cold, and wet beneath my knees. The smell of blood and smoke filled my nose, but I did not care. All I could see was his face, and all I could feel, was the warmth of his body beneath my hand.
I placed my hand on his chest, and I gave him a reassuring firm nod. "I am here," I said. "I will not let him hurt you."
The power pulsed around me, holding the battlefield in place, and I could feel it draining me.
It was like standing in a current, and feeling the water pull at my legs. The power was slipping away, second by second. I did not know how long I could hold it, but I would hold it as long as I had to.
It was pulling nonstop at my strength, like a river pulling at the shore, but I did not let go.
I looked at Kaelen, and I smiled.
He was still frozen, and still helpless. But I could see the love in his eyes. Even in his pain, and even in his exhaustion, he was still looking at me like I was the most important thing in the world. And that made my heart ache, and it made me stronger.
I could see the trust, and the hope that he believed in me. And that was all I needed to know.
"It is going to be okay," I said. "I am here."
