The Heiress They Lost Came Back Overpowered
Chapter 324 "Ingredients
Yvonne Lowell had been leaning back in her seat, head down, playing on her phone and chatting idly with Leo Grant.
She only slowly lifted her head when the car came to a stop.
When she saw the unfamiliar underground parking garage, Yvonne Lowell froze for a moment.
“Where did you bring me?”
“The supermarket. We’re here to buy ingredients. We’ll cook for ourselves tonight.”
Leo Grant pulled two new masks out of some nook or cranny and spoke as he put one on for her.
A flicker of surprise crossed Yvonne Lowell’s eyes.
“Since when did President Grant learn the skill of grocery shopping? And is the mask really necessary?”
‘Didn’t he always just have ingredients delivered to Tidalview whenever he cooked before?’
After adjusting it for her, Leo Grant patted her on the head.
“It’s precisely because we’ve never done this that I want to experience it with you. As for the mask… you seem to have no idea how famous you are, my fiancée.”
The hashtag #LeoGrant,TheFeudOfStealingOurWifeIsIrreconcilable# was still trending.
‘He had no desire to run into a bunch of romantic rivals while just trying to buy groceries, all of them going, “Sister, sister, sister…”‘
Yvonne Lowell raised an eyebrow noncommittally.
“Well, thanks for the compliment on my fame, I guess. Let’s go, househusband.”
With that, she opened the car door and got out.
Holding hands, the two of them went straight from the underground parking garage up to the fresh produce section.
Even though it was his first time grocery shopping, Leo Grant was somewhat competent. His main strategy was simple: pick the expensive stuff and the things Yvonne Lowell liked to eat.
Yvonne Lowell, meanwhile, played the part of a proper little accessory, following wherever he went.
Just as they had finished picking their ingredients and were about to leave the produce section, a restrained yet audibly excited female voice came from behind them.
“Sister?!”
Both of them stopped in their tracks. The alarms in Leo Grant’s head suddenly went off.
‘What’s fated will be. There was no escaping the “sister” calls.’
‘He had specifically put a mask on his fiancée, and they could still recognize her?!’
Yvonne Lowell instinctively turned to look and saw a young woman covering her mouth, staring at her with a face full of excitement.
Beside her stood a guy with a resigned expression, who looked like he was probably her boyfriend.
Yvonne Lowell froze for a second, then hesitantly pointed a finger at the girl, then at herself.
“Are… are you calling me?”
‘Holy cow, am I really that famous?’
The girl nodded excitedly, her face flushing bright red, a bit like a waxed apple—or maybe not.
The girl took a few steps in her direction but very consciously kept a distance of about two meters.
“I thought I had the wrong person, but I can’t believe it’s really you! You really like me… ah, no, I mean, I really like you!!”
It was undeniable that Yvonne Lowell was charmed by this girl who was a good half-head shorter than her. ‘Girls really are the cutest creatures in the world.’
The visible parts of her eyes crinkled into a smile. “Thank you for your support.”
“Can… can I take a picture with you? I won’t post it anywhere! I’ll just keep it for myself!”
Yvonne Lowell gave Leo Grant’s palm a reassuring scratch before letting go of his hand and walking over to the girl.
She took off her mask and said softly, “Of course, you can.”
As she got closer, the girl was completely dazzled by her beauty.
It was only when her boyfriend tugged at her arm that she snapped out of it and shoved her phone into his hands.
“Make sure you get a good angle!”
“I know, I know, Your Majesty,” the guy said, his tone a mix of resignation and affection.
He then skillfully found an angle to take their picture. One look and you could tell his photography skills had been trained to perfection.
“Thank you, Sister! I won’t bother you any longer. You two go on.”
After the picture was taken, the girl tactfully said her goodbyes.
“Oh, right… Even though I’m a solo stan, I still hope you and President Grant will be happy! Forever and always!”
But despite saying that, she didn’t spare a single glance for the imposing man from beginning to end.
Yvonne Lowell patted her head and said with a smile,
“Thank you. You be happy too. Goodbye.”
Yvonne Lowell waved to her, then left the produce section with Leo Grant.
The girl was left standing there, still in a daze. Her boyfriend said softly, a note of helplessness in his voice,
“We should get going too.”
The girl couldn’t help but murmur, “Oh my god, she actually patted my head! Thank goodness I washed my hair and put on makeup before I left the house!”
The guy’s mouth twitched. He simply wrapped an arm around her and started walking in the opposite direction.
“Time to buy snacks, Your Majesty. Once we get them, you can go home, eat, and edit your photos.”
“Oh, right, let’s go. And you! Why didn’t you remind me?!”
“Yes, yes, my fault, my fault…”
…
「Meanwhile.」
Leo Grant pushed the shopping cart with one hand and held Yvonne Lowell’s with the other, his tone a little resentful.
“Let’s just have the ingredients delivered from now on.”
‘He cursed his big mouth. Who would’ve thought they’d actually run into a fan while grocery shopping?’
‘If he hadn’t needed to buy some… necessities, would he have even bothered coming to this damn supermarket?!’
Yvonne Lowell found it amusing but didn’t argue. “Okay.”
‘This old guy gets jealous even of a female fan. And I never would’ve thought this generation of netizens had such sharp eyes.’
Leo Grant: If she hadn’t tacked on that blessing at the end, believe me, I’d be even more jealous!
“Isn’t the checkout over there? Where are we going?”
Yvonne Lowell asked, confused, as the man breezily led her right past the checkout counters.
“I just remembered there’s something else I need to buy.”
Leo Grant led her on a winding path through the aisles, finally stopping in front of a row of shelves in a corner.
Seeing the dazzling array of boxes, Yvonne Lowell couldn’t stop her mouth from twitching.
‘So this was his real reason for the trip, wasn’t it?’
‘Some “buying ingredients to cook,” huh…’
As if not noticing her speechlessness, Leo Grant asked matter-of-factly,
“Sweetheart, which one do you like?”
Yvonne Lowell’s face was a wooden mask. “Don’t they have them next to the checkout?”
‘And he made us walk all this way.’
“They have a better selection here. But you can only pick from the far right, otherwise they won’t fit.”
Leo Grant said with a perfectly straight face.
Speechless, Yvonne Lowell looked up at the ceiling. “You pick.”
‘Good thing there’s no one around, or I’d definitely give him a couple of good punches.’
‘Karma’s a bitch. This is my punishment for swindling him!’
A hint of a smile flashed in Leo Grant’s eyes. He picked up a few boxes of the orange-flavored ones and put them in the cart.
“I remember you like orange flavor, so we should get more of these. And these, let’s get one of each…”
As he spoke, he continued grabbing boxes from the shelf and tossing them into the cart.
Seeing that he showed no signs of stopping, Yvonne Lowell quickly grabbed his hand and said through gritted teeth,
“That’s enough! Are you planning to open a shop or something?!”
“We need to buy a few different kinds to try at home. Otherwise, how will we know which one is good? Once we figure it out, we can just order them online.”
‘”Try them out,” he says… So now we’re on the product reviewer track, are we?’
“Stop it! Don’t make me slap you!”
Yvonne Lowell snatched the cart and started dragging him toward the checkout.
A smile played on Leo Grant’s lips as he obediently let her lead him away, not forgetting to toss the last few boxes he was clutching into the cart.
