The Heiress They Lost Came Back Overpowered

Chapter 325 Stubborn Men Never End Well

Tidalview.

Leo Grant carried all the groceries into the villa. The girl beside him still wore a deadpan expression.

He lowered his head and gave her slightly flushed earlobe a soft peck.

“Still sulking? Hmm?”

It had been a while since they drove back from the supermarket, yet her ears were still burning red.

Yvonne Lowell irritably pushed his annoying face away. “No, I’m not. Now go make dinner.”

She would never, ever forget the look the cashier gave her after scanning their items.

Upon seeing the size specifications, the cashier’s left eye screamed: ‘Ooh, girl, you’re eating well, aren’t you?!’

Upon seeing the quantity, her right eye screamed: ‘Holy crap, girl, you need to practice some self-control!’

As they were about to pay and leave, the cashier didn’t forget to plug a promotion.

“Sir, ma’am, our store recently partnered with JY Pharmaceuticals. We’ve even opened a special pharmacy window on the second floor. All our medicines are sourced directly from the JY Pharmaceutical Factory, like the Right Return Pill, Six Flavors Rehmannia Pills, Nourishing Yin and Kidney Pills, and so on. If you’re interested, you two can go upstairs and take a look.”

‘What the hell? Was she trying to earn back the money he was spending on me right then and there?!’

‘And Nina Jennings, too! Why the hell did she have to develop so many kidney-tonifying products?!’

‘Today, I, Yvonne Lowell, will hate every single breathing creature on this planet equally!’

This was, without a doubt, the most mortifying moment of her entire life. She’d had the sudden urge to hijack a plane and flee Kingsland that very night.

Knowing she was just shy, Leo Grant didn’t dare tease her anymore, worried he’d genuinely piss her off.

He chuckled lightly. “Why don’t you wait in the living room for a bit? I’ll go get started.”

Leo Grant led her to the sofa and made sure she was settled before taking the ingredients to the kitchen.

Before he started prepping the meal, he didn’t forget to take another, separate bag upstairs.

Yvonne Lowell watched his retreating back as he went upstairs and called out,

“There’s a black drawing board on the shelf in the study. Grab it for me while you’re up there.”

“As you command~”

A short while later, Leo Grant came back down with her drawing board and tools.

He set everything up for her on the table before asking,

“Got a new idea for a weapon?”

‘It couldn’t be because of what the cashier said, could it? No, no way…’

“No, they haven’t even finished the blueprints I left them last time. I just wanted to try sketching some wedding attire.”

Yvonne Lowell slid down onto the carpet and began to sharpen a pencil.

A glint flashed in Leo Grant’s eyes. He sat down on the sofa behind her.

“Wedding attire… So, do you need me to be your model?”

Yvonne Lowell couldn’t help but twitch her lips.

“Gigi, I’m drawing the clothes, not the person. They’ll just be made according to the measurements later.”

Sensing the resentful aura emanating from behind her, Yvonne Lowell quickly changed her tune.

“Besides, don’t I know you inside and out? I’ll definitely draw the style that suits you best. So your main task right now is to go make dinner. Be a good boy, okay?”

Good, the aura immediately dissipated.

Leo Grant patted her head. “I’ll go make dinner then. I’ll call you when it’s ready.”

With that, he rolled up his sleeves and went into the kitchen.

Yvonne Lowell let out a huge sigh of relief. ‘I was actually planning to draw the woman’s outfit first…’

‘Oh, well. I’ve already said it. Now I have to see it through and draw the man’s outfit first, even if it kills me.’

…

By the time Leo Grant finished cooking and came to call her, Yvonne Lowell had already sketched the basic form of a traditional jacket.

When Leo Grant saw the drawing, a flash of amazement crossed his eyes.

“You designed this for me?”

‘It is, right? It is, right? This is obviously menswear, it has to be, right?’

“Yup. Grandma said the Dragon and Phoenix Kua she’s having made for me is a Kua Huang, so this kind of traditional jacket will be a better match.”

Yvonne Lowell stretched, her voice lazy.

“Also… we’ll probably each need another two or three outfits. I’ll think about it later.”

She had just done a quick search. Besides the Dragon and Phoenix Kua for the wedding procession, she also needed to prepare a getting-ready robe, a main wedding gown, and a reception dress.

‘I’m not designing a getting-ready robe for him. He doesn’t deserve one.’

‘I’d rather use that time to conceptualize the main wedding gown. The phoenix coronet and robes are the real major project.’

Leo Grant gently massaged her wrist, his voice warm.

“Why don’t we just hire a designer? Or after you draw the women’s outfits, I can find menswear to match them?”

Yvonne Lowell narrowed her eyes.

“President Grant, are you looking down on my designs?”

“How could I? I just don’t want you to get too tired,” Leo Grant said with a helpless laugh.

“Alright, don’t think I don’t know what you’re thinking, you punk. It’s just a few drawings. It’s not enough to stump me.”

Yvonne Lowell shot him an exasperated glare. “And another thing—don’t say I didn’t warn you. Stubborn men don’t meet a good end.”

“My fault, my fault. I’ll be sure to heed my fiancée’s every word from now on. I’ll leave the wedding attire in your capable hands, my dear fiancée. You can leave the rest of the wedding details to me. All you need to do is get ready to be the most beautiful bride in the world.”

He knew she was lazy. Once she finished designing the wedding clothes, she’d probably be on the verge of slacking off completely.

Besides, he didn’t want her to get too tired, so his plan from the start was to gather her ideas and then arrange all the wedding details himself.

“The boy is teachable. That’s what I was thinking, too.”

Yvonne Lowell used his thigh to push herself up. “Let’s go. Time to eat.”

…

「After dinner.」

Yvonne Lowell continued to refine the details on her sketch, while Leo Grant sat beside her, working on his laptop.

The two of them didn’t exchange a word, yet the atmosphere was perfectly harmonious. This was clearly a familiar scene for them.

The moment Yvonne Lowell put down her pencil, Leo Grant immediately closed his laptop.

“Finished with the revisions?”

“Mhm, this outfit’s done. I’ll deal with the rest tomorrow.”

Just as Yvonne Lowell stood up, the man scooped her into his arms, pulling her into his lap so she was straddling him.

Yvonne Lowell pressed a hand against his chest. “What are you doing?!”

Leo Grant took her delicate hands and wrapped them around his neck. His large hand on her slender waist pressed down, closing the distance between them.

“Since we’re done with work, shouldn’t we get down to business?”

Seeing the undisguised desire in his eyes, Yvonne Lowell’s gaze faltered.

“What business? I don’t know what you’re… Mmph…”

Before Yvonne Lowell could finish, Leo Grant captured her lips.

The kiss deepened, stealing all her breath away.

Just as Yvonne felt her mind growing hazy, the man finally took pity on her and let her go.

He rubbed his nose against hers and said in a hoarse voice,

“Now do you know?”

“No.”

Sensing the change below, Yvonne Lowell struggled to get off him. “Let me down first. I haven’t showered yet.”

“Stay still.”

Leo Grant gave her a pat on the butt, then stood up while still holding her and headed for the master bathroom.

“Coincidentally, I haven’t showered either. We’ll go together.”
