The Heiress They Lost Came Back Overpowered

Chapter 323 It's Okay to Scam My Feelings, but Not My Money

  • Next Chapter

Lowell Manor.

Harrison Lowell was just about to start a game when he got an email notification.

His heart leaped with joy as he quickly switched over to his inbox to check.

When he saw the email’s details, he suddenly let out an excited, monkey-like shriek.

“Woohoo! It’s done! It’s done!! As expected of ilpianeta, their efficiency is top-notch!! I now have permanent priority purchasing rights for ilpianeta! And a permanent twenty-percent discount, too!! I’ll love Yvonne forever and ever!!”

His loud voice made his other brothers jump. Just as they were about to gang up on him, all of their phones buzzed with notifications at the same time.

They opened them and found that each one was an email.

The brothers exchanged glances and flipped their phones over at the same time.

Sure enough, they had all received the same message, just with the recipient’s information changed.

A silent, telepathic understanding passed between them, and they instantly grasped the situation.

Caleb Lowell shot a look at Adrian Lowell, and Adrian—our little schemer, sweet on the outside but all cunning within—caught his drift and nodded.

He then switched to an excited and happy expression and bounced over to Harrison Lowell’s side.

“Harrison! Thank you! You’re the best!! Love you, mwah!!”

Harrison Lowell was stunned for a moment, then scooted back warily.

“Whoa, whoa, hold on. I’m broke. My money has other uses. If you want to buy something, go ask your other brothers.”

“Oh, Harrison, I get it. You might be a bit of a tsundere, a little sharp-tongued, and kinda conceited, but I know you’ve always cared about me deep down. Otherwise, you wouldn’t have gotten me a top-tier ilpianeta membership, right?”

As Harrison scooted away, Adrian scooted right along with him, clinging like a burr that couldn’t be shaken off.

It was unclear which of those words was the trigger, but suddenly Harrison puffed up with pride.

“So you found out? Alright, alright, no need to be so jealous. Your sister and I have been close since we were little, but I’m sure she still has a soft spot for you.”

“Still, if you see any new products you like, I can buy them for you—as long as we don’t end up with matching items, of course.”

Adrian surreptitiously glanced at his brothers, who were enjoying the show from a safe distance. Then, he boldly took out his phone.

“Oh, no need for you to do the buying. Haven’t you already set me up with a membership? Permanent priority purchasing rights and a twenty-percent discount. See? Right here, it’s even noted that this is a gift from Mr. Harrison Lowell.”

“What the hell are you talking about?”

Harrison’s brain short-circuited for a second before he snatched the phone away from him.

The content was indeed the same as the one he had received, except for one additional sentence:

‘This membership card is a generous gift from Mr. Harrison Lowell. The cardholder may enjoy the same benefits as Mr. Harrison Lowell.’

Even the timestamps on the emails were identical. It was clearly a mass email.

Meanwhile, Adrian didn’t forget to fan the flames.

“Sigh, I know my sister is closest to you. The rest of us brothers just have to trail behind you and pick up the scraps.”

“But it’s a good thing you still care about us. You didn’t forget us when you struck it rich, and you always share the good stuff. You’re literally the best brother in the world!!”

“Wait, wait, wait…” Harrison cut off his stream of flattery, a look of bewilderment on his face.

“When you said ‘us’ just now, who exactly were you referring to?”

“All of us! See? Me and this whole line of brothers, we all got the email.”

As he spoke, Adrian even pointed in their direction.

When Harrison looked over, they all raised their phones in unison and waved them at him.

Harrison blinked, mechanically turned his head back, and asked,

“What about Nina and Angus? Did they get one?”

“Nope. But it’s been so many years, they must have gotten theirs a long time ago.”

Adrian shrugged.

But by the time Harrison asked that question, Nina Jennings and Zachary Jacobs had already snuck out the side door.

It was a classic case of “better you than me.” They had already been sacrificed once when Yvonne ran off.

If they didn’t slip away now, when would they?

“Holy crap. As the middleman, she made an absolute killing. She charged me eighty million for seven people, pocketing ten million for herself?!”

Harrison Lowell muttered to himself, then suddenly realized something. He shot to his feet, pointed at the shameless group of brothers before him, and yelled,

“Wait a minute. Yvonne scamming me is our business! What’s it got to do with you guys?

You lot! Pay up!! I was getting a membership for myself, not for you!!

“Hurry up, fifteen million each!!”

Adrian instantly leaped a mile away from him, locked his phone, and shoved it in his pocket.

“Once a gift is given, you can’t take it back. And besides, I’m broke. My money has other uses.”

‘He wishes,’ Adrian thought. ‘Even if we split the cost, it’s 11.5 million at most per person.’

‘Demanding fifteen million right off the bat—who’s the real swindler here?!’

Frank Lowell’s lips curled into a teasing smile.

“Exactly. Don’t get so worked up. We’re just the freebies. It’s a buy-one-get-six-free deal. You didn’t lose anything; you came out way ahead.”

“Came out ahead my ass!” Harrison shot him an irritated glare.

“I was wondering why that cunning old swindler was suddenly so accommodating. She told me some princess spent twenty million O Yuan for a membership, but she only asked me for eighty million?

“I see now, she was setting a trap for me from the very beginning! Deliberately trying to scam my money! It must be because I made fun of her this morning, so she’s getting her revenge!!”

The corners of everyone’s mouths twitched. ‘He finally gets it,’ they thought. ‘Guess it’s not too late for him.’

Caleb Lowell picked up his laptop from the table, walked over to Harrison, and patted his shoulder.

“Thanks. All those years of doting on you weren’t a waste. I’ll be sure to be first in line for the new collection.”

With that, he walked out of the side hall without a backward glance.

The others followed suit, one by one, repeating the action and adding a sincere ‘Thank you!’

Yancy Lowell, who was last, hesitated for a moment before finally managing to squeeze out a sentence,

“That anti-fraud app is actually pretty useful. You should remember to download it later.”

‘You can guard against strangers day and night, but it’s impossible to guard against your own sister.’

‘Still, it’s better to be scammed by family. Just don’t let anyone else fool you.’

“Hey, don’t go yet! Give me back my money!” Harrison yelled at their retreating backs.

Suddenly remembering something, Harrison whipped his head around. “Angus, you little…”

Harrison forcibly swallowed the curse on the tip of his tongue. The side hall was completely empty. Forget people, there wasn’t even a ghost in sight.

DAMN IT!!!

Harrison collapsed onto the sofa, his eyes staring blankly at the ceiling, as if all his strength and cunning had abandoned him.

‘Why?’

‘Playing with my feelings is one thing, but why did she have to scam me out of my money?!’

‘Wasn’t just scamming my feelings enough? Why be so greedy?! Why did she have to take both?!’

‘What’s the difference between scamming my money and taking my life?!’

Yvonne Lowell: Thanks for asking. Only children make choices.
