THE GOD EATER

Chapter 289: Varied Appearance.

Chapter 289: Varied Appearance.

The people who wore the same robes also seemed to form a group. So there were two groups in the large flying sword. There was also a considerable space between the two groups, and the two groups didn’t interact with each other.

After seeing this and using the Power Identification Ability on them, he was able to come to the conclusion that the swordsmen in red robes were the ones in the Killing Pathway, while the ones wearing the white robes were the ones in the Sword Pathway.

This discovery also made him determine why the two groups of swordsmen weren’t talking to each other, even though they were part of the same sect. Their ideology was just too different for them to interact harmoniously.

On one side, the white-robed swordsmen were chatting happily with each other. But the other side, which was made up of red-robed swordsmen, was silent. They sat down with their eyes closed, meditating instead of chatting with each other.

As he looked at them, he chucked and said, “In fact, it is a miracle that they are not at each other’s throats. After all, for the white-robed swordsmen who believe in doing good, killing the red-robed ones would do the world a lot of good.”

“And for the red-robed swordsmen who believe in killing and doing evil, purging their sect of the white-robed goody two-shoes should count as doing something evil. So it is already good that they can sit together without killing each other.”

The last sect arrived three hours later. They were the Nexus of the Truth Sect. They came riding a large chariot that appeared to be pulled by creatures of light in the shape of a bull.

These creatures looked like the phantom transformations of the Martial Body Sect in that their bodies weren’t made of solid matter. They appeared to be made of pure light, so they were white and bright.

The people of the Nexus of Truth Sect called the creatures of white light star beasts. Loki wanted to cut them open and see how they worked immediately after he saw them.

But his attention was soon distracted by the fact that half of the people on the chariot had a third eye on their forehead, while the other half were obscured in a black mist, so their figures couldn’t be seen.

Even without using the Power Identification Ability on them, he knew their identities as cultivators of the two opposing pathways of the Nexus of Truth Sect.

As he looked at them, he said to himself, “The Seers and the Deceivers. The seers are not that dangerous. The deceivers are the ones I should be wary of.”

He and many others were looking at the newcomers. But the newcomers only glanced at them briefly before they returned their attention to staring at each other.

The ones with three eyes were staring at their obscured counterparts with focus and intensity, while the obscured ones ignored their three-eyed counterparts and behaved as if they didn’t exist.

No one talked to each other on the chariot. The whole chariot was as silent as a graveyard.

Loki found this intriguing because even the people of the Four Directions Sect, who don’t like each other, are not this quiet. The airship can’t be quiet because people are constantly arguing with each other or threatening each other.

For now, no sect argued with each other. Most of the sects didn’t talk to each other at all. Only the swordsmen of the Sword Way Sect and the warriors of the Martial Body Sect were talking to each other.

Only the white-robed swordsmen were talking, though. The red-robed ones were still quietly meditating.

The swordsmen and warriors were laughing as they chatted. They made some bets, carried weights together, and shared jokes. It was a scene of friendliness between sects.

Loki saw this and said, “Must be nice not to be surrounded by enemies on all sides.”

He wasn’t surprised to see this scene because these two sects are on opposite sides of the Blessed Heaven World. They are on the North and South with the Central Domain, East Domain, and West Domain between them.

So they don’t have any world barriers that connect their two territories, which means they don’t ever fight each other on the Earthly Battlefield.

This also means that if either one of them wins the Heavenly Battlefield and gains control of the small world, the small world won’t be used to steal souls from each other’s territory. So they can work together in the Heavenly Battlefield to make sure that only the two of them win it.

The Nexus of Truth Sect, which resides in the West Domain, and the Myriad Phenomenon Sect, which resides in the opposite East Domain, also have the opportunity to work together since they can’t harm each other with an Earthly Battlefield.

Only the Central Domain is enemies with everyone. They have to fight everyone on the Earthly Battlefields, and everyone is also determined to wipe them out first in the Heavenly Battlefield. This is making him jealous.

He clicked his tongue and said, “No wonder the Four Directions Sect has to accept anyone with a talent higher than 10%. With so many enemies, they simply can’t afford to be picky.”

10% potential is the minimum requirement for a mortal to awaken and become a cultivator. But such a talent can’t help a cultivator advance to rank 2, so the other sects won’t waste their time and resources on someone with that kind of talent.

However, the Four Directions Sect doesn’t have the luxury to care about talent. The other sects look down on them for this, but hearing about how the other sects gang up on them first in the Heavenly Battlefield, he is certain that accepting whoever they can find is the good choice.

He was thinking about this when five great beings suddenly appeared above the small world. The five sects were levitating around the small world, so they saw the great beings as soon as they appeared.
