Chapter 288: Different Ways Of Life.

According to his experience in the Four Directions Sect, everyone in the sect knows that they are only a member of this sect because they don’t have any other choice.

They know that the only reason they joined the Four Directions Sect is that they were born in the Central Domain, and they know that if they were born in the Eastern Domain, they would be members of the Myriad Phenomenon Sect.

So no one is overly attached to their identity as a member of the Four Directions Sect. They only care about the power they will gain from the sect.

But the people of the Myriad Phenomenon Sect seem to care deeply about the reputation of their sect. And they seem to be harmonious and at peace with each other. It is making him wonder how their sect takes care of them compared to how the Four Directions Sect enslaves everyone in the Central Domain.

While he was wondering about this, he glanced at the people of the Myriad Phenomenon Sect and tried to glean more information by examining them with his eyes and with the Power Identification Ability.

He saw that all of them were dressed in matching robes. These robes were mainly of three types and matched their Dao Status. That is, those with Level 4 Dao Status were wearing the exact same robe, while those with Level 5 Dao Status were wearing the same robes too.

This arrangement revealed an oddity to him. He found it weird that a rank 4 cultivator with a Level 5 Dao Status was wearing the same robe as two of the rank 5 cultivators, while the last rank 5 cultivator was wearing the same robes as the rank 4 cultivators with Level 4 Dao Status.

This made him say to himself, “If I’m right and the status in the sect is linked to the color and grade of their robes, does that mean the rank 4 cultivator with the Level 5 Dao Status has the same status in the sect as the rank 5 cultivators with Level 5 Dao Status?”

After thinking about this, he shook his head and said, “That can’t be. It would be too silly.”

Then he remembered the silly argument that had just occurred and how the people of the Myriad Phenomenon Sect had taken it seriously.

So he said, “No way, right? Is status in the sect really determined by Dao Status, not cultivation?”

As he asked himself this, he caught the people of the Myriad Phenomenon being respectful to each other. They were smiling and calling each other senior brother, senior sister, martial uncle, and martial aunt as they spoke to each other.

This was a weird sight to him. It is something he has never seen in the Four Directions Sect.

Just two days ago, two people on the airship who were supposed to be comrades in arms and were about to go to battle together threatened to kill each other and kill each other’s fathers. That sight was pretty normal to him.

He was willing to accept the fact that the people who should be working together were trying to kill each other, and only wondered how come one of them had a doting rank 5 father. That was normal to him.

But now that he saw people who should be working together actually working together in peace and harmony, he couldn’t believe it. He felt that their harmony was abnormal and weird.

When he thought of this, he smiled wryly and said, “Maybe I’ve changed. Maybe the Four Directions Sect has changed me without my knowledge.”

“Come to think of it, the five domains of the Blessed Heaven World are like separate worlds. So it should not come as a surprise to me that we behave differently and have a different way of life.”

As if to prove his point, he looked in the direction of the Martial Body Sect and saw that the warriors were working out on the back of the Skywhale. They were doing push-ups and lifting weights.

He also saw considerable peace and unity among them. They were helping each other out by spotting for them when they bench press or by cheering them on during the exercise. This made them look like bodybuilders in a gym, not cultivators.

On the other side, the people of the Myriad Phenomenon Sect were having a strategy meeting. They used some array to blur their figures and isolate sounds so that no one would be able to see what they were doing or hear what they were talking about.

They were really taking the upcoming battle seriously and were working on their formations and strategies for the battle. All of them sat down in silence and paid attention to what the three with the highest status were saying about the strategies.

Compared to the Four Directions Sect, which was behaving like the people who play a sport for fun and don’t care about strategy, the people of the Myriad Phenomenon Sect were behaving like the professional players of a sport or game who cared about the weather, wind speed, the length and weight of their equipment, etc.

While Loki was examining their enemies, the two remaining sects arrived. The Sword Way Sect was the first of the two to arrive. They came riding a large sword.

Their arrival before the Nexus of Truth Sect made Loki say in admiration, “They may be the youngest sect, but they are not the sloppiest or the weakest. With this kind of punctuality and firepower, they have a better bearing than some ancient sects.”

“Maybe that’s why their founder was able to separate from the Four Directions Sect and establish his own sect. He was not lacking in qualifications compared to the founders of the much older sects.”

The disciples of the Sword Way Sect mainly wore two types of robes. Their robes were either white or red. But they all had swords which were attached to their backs, hanging on their hips, or carried in their hands.
