Chapter 1260: Replacing The Divine Position.

Fortunately, he got a new idea a few seconds into thinking, and it looked like a good idea. Unfortunately, he wasn’t sure if he liked the idea.

He thought, ’Since I already have the Domain Power System, what if I use it to help mortals become divine beings?’

’This way, it will be easier for them to become divine beings. Without the danger of lighting their Life Fire, nearly every Rank 5 cultivator in the sect can become a divine being.’

’Plus, without the restriction of limited Divine Position, anyone can become a divine being. So if it works, I can have millions of divine beings while other sects will be limited by the size of their Dao Lord’s Supreme Metac,’ he thought, excited.

He thought it was an exciting idea because it came with a lot of benefits. Unfortunately, it also had disadvantages, and many of them at that.

The first disadvantage was that he didn’t know how it would work without dropping the Root of Life Metac. He was racking his brain, but he didn’t even know where to start.

So far, the Domain Power System acted as an add-on. It was a Branch Metac for his disciples to use without consequence. To change that and make the Domain Power Metac help his disciples become divine beings, he would have to turn it into a Core Metac, which would clash with the Root of Life Metac.

Turning the Domain Power Metac into a Core Metac was non-negotiable, as only a Core Metac could change the life level of a cultivator and be used to create Life Abilities, which would in turn become Divine Metacs.

Secondly, even if he decided to ditch the Root of Life Metac, he didn’t know how to help mortals advance without a Divine Position. In fact, he didn’t think it was possible.

The third disadvantage he could tell so far was that such a system, if possible, was likely to have trade-offs that might turn away mortals from using it.

For one, without a Divine Position, divine beings won’t be able to reincarnate. Secondly, without a Life Fire, they wouldn’t be able to burn world essence and spirit stones to increase their lifespan.

Thirdly, without the baptism of their Life Fire, they wouldn’t have a divine body that can heal any injury, as they have a lifespan. Fourthly, without a Life Fire, they may not be able to use Divine Metacs.

These four disadvantages were just the tip of the iceberg. There was also the lack of a Cave Heaven, meaning that his disciples won’t be able to suppress others with their Cave Heaven, raise spirit beasts in the Cave Heaven, and tear open barriers between dimensions without the Cave Heaven.

As if this wasn’t bad enough, there was also the fact that his disciples wouldn’t be able to use divine artifacts without Cave Heaven. The list of disadvantages went on and on like that.

’What are divine beings without a Divine Metac? If I were offered this instead of the Divine Position, I wouldn’t take it. So this method might be good for the sect, but it is not good for the disciples.’

’If I must go through with it, I must make it so that it is better than both the Root of Life Metac and the normal Divine Position ascension method. That’s the only way it will be worthwhile for my disciples and me.’

But then he got an idea that made his eyes light up as he thought, ’What if I use the system of World Kings?’

’World Kings also don’t have Cave Heaven and Life Fires. But they do well for themselves. Maybe I should look to them for inspiration,’ he thought, nodding his head.

He was thoroughly inspired and immediately got to work on this idea. Creative energy flowed through him, bringing with it a cascade of ideas.

As he worked, he thought, ’This might be the greatest idea I’ve ever had.’

The goal was to combine the Root of Life System with the Domain Power System by copying the relationship between the Will of a world and its World King.

He felt that it could work because the Will of the World was in charge of both the Domain Power and the lifespan of the World King. So the template for the fusion of the Root of Life and the Domain Power System was already available.

Plus, he used to be a World and could still use the Divine Position Creation Ability to turn someone into a World King. It was a perk he never got to use, but he could finally put it to good use.

So all in all, the plan looked feasible. The only disadvantage he could think of was that worlds were also limited in how many world kings they could have. Even so, he was still excited about this idea.

He worked and worked for hours on this idea, focusing on it a little bit too much. It got so bad that he diverted some of his attention from operating the Devouring Supreme Metac for increasing its conversion efficiency to the project of fusing the Root of Life and the Domain Power System.

Many times, he had to stop himself from being distracted by the project and continue to operate 16 2-D Devouring Metacs and 1 3-D Devouring Ability at the same time.

The first challenge he faced was creating the power source. Every kind of power had to come from somewhere. For the cultivation system, power came from the Supreme Metacs of Dao Lords. For the world king and Rank 5 world guardians, their power came from the world heart.

In the case of the Root of Life, the power came from him, the Dao Lord, through the Devouring Supreme Metac. But for the Domain Power System, the power came from him, through the Supreme Metac, the Hunting Form Metac, and the Rank 8 Divine Artifact.
