Chapter 76: Chapter 76: Blue Star’s Construction Speed is Top-Notch!
Ever since the Snow Festival, when the Imperial Crown Prince, Cyril, suddenly shifted into his Beast Form and entered his Evolutionary Stage, he had been officially entrusted to Liang He’s care. Eureka had promised to help Liang He expand the animal dormitory. After reporting to the Emperor, the project was officially put on the agenda. The original animal dormitory was only about five hundred square meters due to its low occupancy rate. For this renovation, Huo An and Eureka had discussed the matter and decided to do it all at once, expanding the space to a staggering two thousand square meters.
"I really didn’t expect the Blue Star engineering team to be this fast," Hoder said, his face filled with amazement as he stood in front of the newly renovated animal dormitory.
According to their original plan, they estimated the renovation would take at least a month. So when Liang He suggested hiring a Blue Star engineering team, they had assumed she just wanted to look out for her fellow countrymen. Who would have thought that in just one short week, the Blue Star team would hand over the completed project!
"This is way too awesome!" exclaimed Xu Yi. Ever since Lan Zhuo became the exclusive Veterinarian for the Seventh Service Area, Xu Yi had returned to the Main Service Area. He had come back this time specifically to join the fun and check out the new dormitory.
The entire animal dormitory utilized panoramic one-way glass. The animals inside could see everything outside clearly, but the outside world couldn’t peek in at all. Meanwhile, the retractable skylight design was not only aesthetically pleasing but also highly practical. On a warm, sunny day, the furry companions could bask in a full three-hundred-and-sixty-degree view of the sun. If the night sky was filled with stars, they could huddle together for stargazing. It was simply perfect!
"The construction speed was incredibly fast, yet the quality didn’t suffer at all. In fact, it’s even more perfect!"
The interstellar people, who knew absolutely nothing about the building speed of Blue Star, were shocked beyond words. The engineering team captain, praised so much he didn’t know which way was up, scratched his head in a simple, honest manner and smiled sheepishly.
"You flatter me. It’s just what we’re supposed to do."
When he first received the task, his only thought was to not bring shame to Blue Star. Thus, before coming here, he had specifically held a mobilization meeting, stressing that the renovation project had to be executed flawlessly.
"Not bad. Very impressive, actually. Captain, is your engineering team taking on new orders?" As the financier and the temporary ’adopter’ of the Platinum Giant Lion, Cyril, Eureka naturally had to come and inspect the completed project. He certainly hadn’t expected the engineering team Liang He brought in to give him such a pleasant surprise. It immediately reminded him of the Empire’s construction projects. The King had been fretting a while ago about not being able to find a diligent and responsible engineering team. Now, one was delivered right to his doorstep, ready for the picking!
"Yes! Of course we can!" Station Chief Liang had specifically instructed him beforehand that if an impeccably dressed military officer invited him to do a project, he must seize the opportunity and agree.
"Alright then. Gather your men and come with me in a bit," Eureka replied. As the Empire’s captain of the guard, he needed to return to his post now that the Crown Prince was properly settled. Taking the engineering team back to the Empire with him was perfectly convenient. "Station Chief Liang, I won’t stand on ceremony then. I’ll be taking these men with me."
"I wouldn’t have it any other way," she smiled. Except for a select few, no one present was a fool. Liang He’s original intention had always been to give the Blue Star engineering team more opportunities to shine and showcase their talents to the interstellar community.
After seeing Eureka and the engineering team off, Liang He was finally able to step inside the new dormitory and take a proper look around.
"Huh? Is this room with the pink curtains and bed yours?" Xu Yi asked. He had curiously tagged along to tour the new dormitory and was instantly drawn to the exceptionally delicate shade of pink.
"No, Eureka prepared this specifically for Cyril."
When they were designing the dormitory, Eureka had specifically requested a private room for the Platinum Giant Lion—and mandated that it had to be in a pink color scheme. Liang He didn’t understand it, but she respected it. After all, Eureka was the wealthy benefactor footing the bill.
"PFFT... Haha! Seriously? Cyril is actually such a girly girl at heart?" Following his previous urge to jump through any hoop he saw, the Platinum Giant Lion had given them yet another massive surprise.
"ROAR!" Although the Platinum Giant Lion couldn’t understand what Xu Yi was laughing about, he heard his own name and immediately roared at him in displeasure.
"AHH!" Ever since hanging around Liang He and getting familiar with the animals, Xu Yi hadn’t been spooked like this in a long time. He jumped three feet in the air, nearly giving himself a heart attack. "Bro! Big bro! I absolutely didn’t mean to mock you! Liang He! Help me!"
Watching Xu Yi sprint wildly around the dormitory with the Platinum Giant Lion hot on his heels, Liang He slightly raised an eyebrow. A smile played on her lips, showing absolutely no intention of helping.
"Doctor Xu, next time you decide to gossip about our furry friends, make sure you hide first!" She had no intention of intervening. Cyril wouldn’t actually bite him anyway. After all, he was just a little lion with a girly heart, and Xu Yi’s flesh wasn’t quite "girly" enough for his tastes.
"Alright, let’s continue the tour!"
The entire animal dormitory remained connected to the kitchen, storage room, and bathroom. It was equipped with a top-tier climate control system, making Liang He feel a bit too warm even in her sweater. Aside from the Platinum Giant Lion’s exclusive pink room, the other furry companions had their own varied little rooms as well. However, they usually preferred to squeeze in with Liang He. As a result, her room was the largest—a whopping two hundred square meters—with the bed alone taking up half the space.
"Good heavens, this is a bed?" Hoder never thought he would see a one-hundred-square-meter bed in his lifetime. It was genuinely a staggering sight. "I finally have a mental image of those scenes in novels where the domineering CEO wakes up every morning on a hundred-square-meter bed."
Not just Hoder—even Liang He, the one actually sleeping there, felt it was an exaggeration. But she had no choice. With her furry companions growing in both number and size, a smaller bed simply wouldn’t fit them all.
Beyond that, the other end of the dormitory connected to a massive indoor activity space. The toys and exercise equipment the fur-babies loved, including the Platinum Giant Lion’s hoops, were all arranged here. There was even a circular track wrapped around the windows, ensuring the animals could burn off their daily energy requirements without ever stepping outside.
"Eh? Hoder and Lan Zhuo’s rooms are over here?" Having finally begged for mercy and escaped the Platinum Giant Lion’s claws, Xu Yi popped up once again.
On the other side of the activity space were Hoder and Lan Zhuo’s dormitories. This layout not only made it easier for Hoder to protect Liang He’s safety and mooch meals off her whenever he pleased, but it also ensured Lan Zhuo was readily available if any animals needed medical attention. Lan Zhuo’s quarters were also connected to the medical room. The entire dormitory’s design was incredibly rational and accommodating, taking multiple aspects into consideration. It was no wonder Eureka was so satisfied that he took the engineering team away on the spot.
"Liang He, I heard that on Blue Star, people always invite guests to ’warm the house’ when they move to a new place. Hehe, are you going to..."
Liang He knew it. Xu Yi had bounded over so happily not just to tour the new dormitory—he was clearly here to snag a free meal. But she couldn’t really blame him. Once you got used to fine dining, suddenly going back to eating chaff and swill was unbearable. He hadn’t tasted Liang He’s cooking in almost half a month!
"Since that’s the case, why don’t we all make dumplings together? We can send some over to the other colleagues later to share the joy."
"Sounds good to me!"
"Sure, I have no objections."
"Then we’ll be your assistants?"
The three men were quite gentlemanly. They had no intention of just sitting back and enjoying the fruits of her labor, choosing instead to help Liang He mix the filling and knead the dough.
"PFFT! Lanton, what are you doing?! Stop flapping your giant wings!"
