The Fluffballs I Fed Were SSS-Rank Beastmen
Chapter 77: Flour Man vs. Flour Beast
Chapter 77: Chapter 77: Flour Man vs. Flour Beast
As the Canglan Hunting Eagle’s massive wings flapped, the dry flour that hadn’t yet been mixed with water flew straight into several people’s faces, much like Xu Yi and Hoder’s comic duo act.
Before Liang He could stop them, the other fluffy animals saw this and assumed they were playing a new game without them, so they joined in on the chaos. They dipped their paws in the flour, leaving plum blossom-shaped footprints everywhere. They deliberately blew flour into Xu Yi and the others’ faces with snorts from their noses. An eagle’s talons grabbed a handful of flour and scattered it directly over Lan Zhuo’s hair...
It was evident that Lanton really minded this two-legged beast who shared the same color scheme as him.
"Lanton!"
Lan Zhuo usually didn’t get angry, but when he did, it was no ordinary matter. He grabbed a handful of flour and threw it backhanded at the Canglan Hunting Eagle in mid-air, instantly turning Lanton white.
"SCREECH!"
Feeling the pervasive flour all over his body, the Canglan Hunting Eagle instinctively spread his wings to shake it off. Well, that did it—he directly offended every person and animal on the entire "battlefield."
"You little troublemakers!"
Liang He, who originally wanted to control the situation, couldn’t be bothered to shout anymore and simply joined the fray. Seeing this, everyone played even more joyously.
"Pfft, haha! Cedriel has turned into a white tiger!"
"Hilarious! Xuan Jiao has completely become a polar bear now. Did he say anything?"
"Kuang Ye! You still want to run, kid? Get over here!"
"And Cyril, what are you hiding for? None of you are getting away!"
Just as they were having the time of their lives, Huo An suddenly appeared. He stood at the kitchen door with eyes full of astonishment, looking at the group of flour-covered people and animals before him, caught in a dilemma of whether to enter or retreat.
"Did I... come at a bad time?"
Prompted by Huo An’s question, everyone awkwardly stopped throwing flour and tried to act as if nothing had happened. However, the flour filling the air completely betrayed them, not to mention the "snowy white" coating on their faces, bodies, and hair.
"COUGH... COUGH COUGH. Huo An, you’re here?"
Xu Yi licked his lips, only to get a mouthful of flour. He quickly spat twice and gave Huo An a guilty smile. Besides him, the others also began silently brushing the flour off their hair and clothes. As they patted themselves down, a white powdery mist permeated the entire kitchen.
"What are you all doing?"
Huo An had finally finished his work and came specifically to check out the newly built animal dormitories. He hadn’t expected them to give him such a huge "surprise."
"Uncle Huo An, you can’t blame us! Lanton started it!"
Hoder immediately sold out the culprit, the Canglan Hunting Eagle who had first provoked the "war."
Hearing his name, Lanton knew Hoder was definitely badmouthing him. He wanted to flap his wings again to teach this detestable two-legged beast a lesson. This time, however, Liang He stopped him just in time.
"Brother Hao, I’m sorry. We originally wanted to make dumplings for everyone to eat together and share the joy of moving into the new dormitories, but we accidentally went overboard with playing..." Looking at the flour covering the floor, Liang He felt somewhat distressed. She really shouldn’t have joined in on the nonsense and wasted food.
Seeing Liang He’s low spirits, the fluffy animals immediately went into protective mode. They all stepped in front of her with a clear message: if there’s an issue, come at them, but don’t bully the two-legged beast they were raising! They were boldly unapologetic, despite being entirely in the wrong.
"I didn’t mean to blame you."
It was the first time Huo An had seen Liang He like this. Afraid she might misunderstand, he quickly explained.
"I was purely just curious, really!"
Besides, one look at the scene told Huo An that Liang He definitely hadn’t started it. She had probably even tried to stop it. So, even if someone was at fault, it was Hoder and the others.
Hoder thought sarcastically, "Gee, thanks a lot!"
"So, are you all still making dumplings now?"
"Yes!"
Hearing that Huo An wasn’t blaming her, Liang He immediately got back to work.
The meat filling was already mixed. The main task now was kneading the dough. Since the previous flour was dirty, they had to clean up first and get a new bag of flour.
"Alright, let the kneaded dough rest for a bit. We can start rolling out the wrappers and making the dumplings soon."
Having finally finished kneading the dough, Liang He went back to help clean up. Her main focus was getting the fluffy animals clean. After all, apart from her, no one else dared to lay a hand on them.
"AOO~"
As the proud and aloof Little Crown Prince, Cyril not only loved jumping through hoops but also had a bit of a cleanliness obsession. The last time he was besieged by his three big brothers and ended up covered in dirt, he sulked for a long time. This time, he hadn’t intended to join the "battle" at all but was forcibly dragged in by Hoder. With the other people and animals assisting, he was completely outmatched and felt incredibly wronged.
"Alright, I know Cyril loves being clean. I’ll get you cleaned up right away."
As the little lion adopted by Eureka, the financier of the animal dormitories, Liang He felt she had to take extra care of this newly arrived fluffy animal. She didn’t want him to end up sulking again. Who asked him to be a delicate baby who loved the color pink? She could only spoil him.
"MEOW!"
Apart from the Platinum Giant Lion, the other fluffy animals weren’t having a great time either. Not only did they have to line up to get their faces wiped, but they were also constantly sneezing and vigorously shaking their heads, hoping to shake all the flour off.
"Cedriel, you guys stop your paws! No, wait, stop your heads!"
She had just managed to finish cleaning the Platinum Giant Lion, restoring him to his proper leonine appearance. The next second, she saw the fluffy animals frantically shaking the flour off their bodies and quickly shouted for them to stop.
"Come over here and line up. It’ll be done in a minute."
Liang He had them stand in a relatively clean area. Unable to use a wet towel, she could only continuously pat the flour off their bodies until they were clean. After one round, Liang He was utterly exhausted. She quickly shooed them to the indoor activity area, letting them do whatever they pleased as long as they didn’t add to the mess in the kitchen.
"Liang He, we’ll handle things here. You take a break."
After the sudden bout of playful fighting, Lan Zhuo felt a bit closer to Liang He and no longer distantly called her Station Chief Liang.
"Okay, then I’ll go check on the dough."
Liang He didn’t decline. She turned to look at the dough sealed in the basin. Feeling it was about ready, she took it out, kneaded each portion again, placed it back into the basin, and covered it with plastic wrap for another ten minutes. As the minutes ticked by, Xu Yi and the others also cleaned up the flour that had previously scattered all over the floor.
Liang He didn’t let them throw away the swept-up pile of flour. Instead, she had them put it into a separate bag. Later on, when cleaning places like the faucets, the flour could be used to remove grime. It was also a way to slightly make up for her guilt over wasting food.
"Everything is ready. Shall we start making the dumplings?"
Including Huo An, the four grown men surrounded Liang He, entirely at her disposal.
Rolling out dumpling wrappers required skill. Liang He originally thought she was the only one who could do it, but to her surprise, Lan Zhuo learned it just by watching her roll out wrappers a few times. He actually turned out to be a great help. Thus, the tasks of portioning the dough and folding the dumplings were naturally handed over to Huo An and the other two.
Everyone chatted and laughed. Halfway through, Liang He boiled two hundred dumplings ahead of time so they could fill their stomachs first. After all, from ten o’clock in the morning until now, they hadn’t even eaten lunch. Since they were going to share with their other colleagues, the demand for dumplings was quite large. By the time they finished all the work, it was already past five in the afternoon.
"We’re finally done..."
Hoder genuinely felt that the energy spent making dumplings was no less than a workout at the gym.
Seeing them slumped in their chairs in exhaustion, Liang He chuckled and placed the last tray of dumplings into the freezer for quick freezing. Later, she would just have Huo An and Xu Yi deliver them to the Main Service Area’s cafeteria and ask the chef to boil them.
"Huh? Liang He, where did the bracelet on your wrist go?"
