Chapter 57: Chapter 57: I Heard the Sound of the Ground Shaking

While Huo An and Kerry’s Law Enforcement Team were ambushed by the Rebel Army, the sanctuary was far from peaceful.

The Rebel Army was perhaps certain that the sanctuary’s armed forces had been entirely drawn away by the missing Law Enforcers, leaving the sanctuary empty and defenseless. Taking advantage of this opportunity, they executed a diversionary tactic.

"Emergency notice! A Fierce Beast attack has occurred at the sanctuary’s border!"

"Notify the Guard Team immediately to rush to the border and exterminate the Fierce Beasts!"

"Oh no! The Fierce Beasts are heading toward the Seventh Service Area. Quick, go save them!"

The control room activated emergency mode the moment they discovered the Fierce Beasts trespassing. However, when they realized that the Fierce Beasts’ target was actually the Seventh Service Area, they couldn’t help but feel worried and afraid.

"Head Stationmaster, what do we do now? Could these Fierce Beasts be going after Liang He?"

Liang He was currently the sanctuary’s most important Breeder. If anything happened to her, no one could bear the responsibility!

"Don’t overthink it. Several Beastmen are gathered in the Seventh Service Area; the Fierce Beasts probably caught their scent." Compared to the others, the Head Stationmaster always appeared the most calm and composed. Yet, no one knew the anxiety burning within him.

"The Head Stationmaster makes sense. The Fierce Beasts’ primary targets are Beastmen. With the Marshal and the Commander in the Seventh Service Area, it’s perfectly normal for the Fierce Beasts to be attracted there."

Hearing this analysis, everyone breathed a collective sigh of relief. Regardless, as long as they weren’t attacking Liang He, it shouldn’t be too big of a problem for the other beasts and humans to face the Fierce Beasts... right?

"Holy crap! Why are there more and more Fierce Beasts? They’re multiplying like crazy!"

Initially, a dozen or so Fierce Beasts were enough to leave the entire control room overwhelmed. Unexpectedly, in just a few short minutes, the number of Fierce Beasts had more than doubled, and they were still increasing. At this, even the Head Stationmaster lost his composure.

"Not good! The Rebel Army is commanding these Fierce Beasts from behind the scenes. I’m afraid their target is not just the Beastmen!"

Although the Fierce Beasts’ primary targets were Beastmen, if someone was directing their actions, the implications were entirely different.

"Damn it! How dare they?!"

No one expected this. The Director and the Law Enforcement Team had already gone to track down the Rebel Army’s stronghold; how dare they appear inside the sanctuary at a time like this?

"I’m afraid we’ve fallen into a trap." The Head Stationmaster’s face darkened. To be precise, the "trap" he mentioned referred to Huo An and the Law Enforcement Team.

"Do you mean... ’Lure the tiger out of the mountain’?" A colleague who had recently been reading military strategy suddenly thought of the Thirty-Six Stratagems he had just learned.

"Lure the tiger out of the mountain? That phrase describes it perfectly. Blue Star civilization is indeed worth learning from." The Head Stationmaster frowned and sighed, his eyes glued to the screen, only hoping the Guard Team would arrive soon to take care of this pack of Fierce Beasts. "You’re right. The Rebel Army exploited our eagerness to find their stronghold and rescue the hostages. They lured the Director and his men away from the sanctuary to launch a surprise attack while our internal defenses are weak."

"But why would they do this?" The supervisor of the control room also furrowed his brows, truly unable to figure it out. "Judging by the current number of Fierce Beasts, the Rebel Army must have spent a lot of time and energy developing them. Are they planning a fight to the death?"

Although Huo An and the Law Enforcement Team were absent, the sanctuary’s own Guard Team was no pushover. Moreover, there were Beastmen transformed into ferocious beasts whose combat power could not be underestimated. After all, the Mojin King Tiger and his companions weren’t the only ferocious beasts in the sanctuary.

"If we could understand how the Rebel Army thinks, maybe we could find the answer." Unfortunately, they couldn’t understand it at all.

The appearance of the Fierce Beast Army instantly triggered the sanctuary’s high alert. The Guard Team and the remaining Law Enforcers of the law enforcement department mobilized in full force, determined to exterminate this pack of Fierce Beasts at any cost!

Meanwhile, Liang He, who had been preparing extra meals for the Beast Beasts, immediately put down her bowls and chopsticks and ran to the main entrance of the Seventh Service Area.

"Why did you come out? Go back inside, quickly!" Upon receiving the notice from the control room, Hoder had immediately gone on high alert. He stood guard at the main entrance, keeping a close eye on the Fierce Beasts’ movements at all times. Seeing Liang He appear, he was surprised and only wanted her to hurry up and hide.

"I heard the ground shaking."

This time, it wasn’t the Mengji Snow Leopard or the others who first discovered the Fierce Beasts, but Liang He. She couldn’t ignore the rumbling vibration that felt like thousands of stampeding horses, kicking up clouds of dust.

"You have this kind of ability?" Hoder cast a surprised glance at Liang He, who didn’t even reach his shoulders. He couldn’t help but feel that this petite and adorable Blue Star person possessed a surging, vast power within her body.

Liang He rolled her eyes speechlessly at Hoder’s amazed stare. "Now is not the time to talk about this."

Liang He could feel that the Fierce Beasts were getting closer and closer to them. At the same time, the fluffy ones also noticed the anomaly and appeared behind Liang He one after another. Even the Iron-eating Beast, who usually lounged lazily in his room, stood to the side with a piercing gaze, resembling a tall, majestic black-and-white knight guarding Liang He.

"ROAR!"

A sudden break of Light in the dark night revealed Fierce Beasts glowing with a red aura gradually emerging from the horizon. They surged forward with unstoppable momentum, fearless of death, solely focused on advancing toward their target.

Hoder and the Beast Beasts immediately braced for battle.

"Strange. The Head Stationmaster clearly said that the Rebel Army is commanding these Fierce Beasts, but I don’t see anyone." Hoder had been in constant contact with the control room, trying to get accurate information as quickly as possible to fend off the Fierce Beasts.

By now, the Guard Team and the remaining members of the Law Enforcement Team had already arrived at the Seventh Service Area.

"Perhaps what’s commanding them isn’t human." Based on Liang He’s understanding of animals, aside from humans, beasts could also drive Fierce Beasts. If a beast king that far surpassed the other Fierce Beasts existed within the Fierce Beast Army, it would be equivalent to soldiers having a general. Their power would be countless times stronger than a disorganized mob.

"It looks like we have a tough battle to fight today." After hearing Liang He’s analysis, Hoder’s already dark expression grew even more solemn. However, his eyes were filled with an unwavering, forward-forging conviction. He did not fear battle; he was fearless in the face of combat!

The Fierce Beasts charged at a blistering speed. Seeing them less than a hundred meters away from the Seventh Service Area, Hoder fired his gun without hesitation.

With the first shot, the leading Fierce Beast’s head was blown apart. Scarlet blood painted the green grass, but this only incited the other Fierce Beasts to sprint forward with even greater frenzy.

"ROAR!"

"BANG! BANG BANG BANG!"

With Hoder taking the lead, the Guard Team and the Law Enforcers refused to be outdone and opened fire one after another. The scene briefly plunged into an eerie silence, broken only by the continuous, overlapping gunfire.

However, the Fierce Beasts weren’t truly stupid enough to just wait to be killed. They actually learned to split their forces into two paths. By the time the Head Stationmaster discovered another wave of Fierce Beasts attacking from the rear, it was too late to react.

"ROAR!"

This time, the roar didn’t come from the Fierce Beasts, but from the Mojin King Tiger and the others.

Yet, just as the Beast Beasts engaged the Fierce Beasts in the rear and Hoder’s group slaughtered the army in the front, a sinuous silhouette as dark as ink suddenly appeared, looming high in the sky directly above Liang He.

"Liang He! Watch out!"
