Chapter 31: The Dignified Imperial Admiral is Actually a White Lotus Leopard?!
Chapter 31: Chapter 31: The Dignified Imperial Admiral is Actually a White Lotus Leopard?!
Standing in the kitchen to prepare dinner for the entire household, Liang He cast a helpless glance toward the door, where Hoder was being chased by an eagle and a tiger.
It wasn’t that she wanted to leave him in the lurch, but she firmly believed in the principle of "better you than me." She simply lacked the strength to intervene—after all, she was currently playing the role of a fickle heartbreaker.
"AWOO!"
"It’s all your fault! You kidnapped our two-legged beast!"
"SCREECH!"
"Exactly! If the two-legged beast hadn’t left, she wouldn’t have brought another beast back!"
Completely unable to understand what the Mojin King Tiger and the Canglan Hunting Eagle were roaring about, Hoder felt entirely exhausted. He just wanted to freeload a meal; why was it so difficult?
Filled with grief and indignation, Hoder turned to plead with Liang He for help. Instead, he saw her playing with the two little wolf pups he had just brought back!
"Liang He!!!"
The deafening roar was almost a match for the roaring of the Mojin King Tiger and the eagle. Accustomed to the noise, Liang He casually rubbed her ears. She continued to tease the two wolf pups with shredded meat, making them bounce around excitedly until they almost frantically climbed up her pant legs.
"Be good. Don’t listen to that, it’s just hate speech," Liang He cooed.
Even without Hoder saying it aloud, Liang He could imagine how colorful his internal cursing must be. That was fine; let him curse. It was still far better than the chaotic scene from earlier!
"Speaking of which, you two little ones are growing so fast."
She closely examined Little Nian Gao and Little Sesame as they clambered up her pants. She had only been gone for about ten days, but they had already grown noticeably larger. The fact that they could now eat solid meat was a wonderful sign.
"It feels like I haven’t uploaded any videos or photos in a long time. How about I take you all out for some fresh air tomorrow?"
Having spent all her recent time either traveling or treating the Mengji Snow Leopard, Liang He hadn’t found a single spare moment to record videos or take photos. Finally, she remembered her online financial backers.
The next morning, under Hoder’s resentful gaze, a well-rested Liang He led the three large and two small animals—all five Beast Beasts—straight to the meadow to enjoy the natural scenery.
[Fur Raising Officer: Welcoming a new member [Clap]! I recently rescued and treated a Mengji Snow Leopard, and he is recovering quite nicely~ [Video]]
The netizens, who had waited so long for Liang He’s update that their hair was practically turning white, were so thrilled by the long-awaited video link that they practically danced on the spot.
[I can’t believe I lived to see this! And I’m first!]
[I’m going to cry! Logging on every day to check if the Breeder updated was completely worth it [Excited].]
[I almost thought we were abandoned! Sob, Breeder, how dare you leave your financial backers hanging like this!]
Honestly, what other internet celebrity would dare act like Liang He? She logged on at random and vanished for half a month without a word of advance warning.
But Liang He was simply different! And her unique charm was exactly what made them unable to get enough of her.
So, what could they do? They just had to spoil her! They did not even dare to aggressively demand updates. If Liang He decided to throw in the towel and quit, they would be the ones crying.
[Hurry, hurry! I’m still slaving away at work. Can someone give me a spoiler? I can’t wait!]
[A Mengji Snow Leopard? Why does that make me think of the Imperial Admiral? Haha, I’m probably overthinking it... right?]
[It looks like Little Nuomu and Little Sesame have grown a bit! They even dare to climb up the Mojin King Tiger’s tail, haha!]
[Holy crap! It really is a Mengji Snow Leopard! Then the answer is obvious! Is the Breeder’s charm really that incredible? I’m so curious about what she looks like.]
[The Canglan Hunting Eagle is as heroic and dashing as ever. He looks so handsome soaring through the sky! I’m completely mesmerized!]
[LMAO, the Mengji Snow Leopard groveling at the Breeder’s feet is actually a scheming boy trying to win her favor with a pity act!]
The moment the video went live, the view count skyrocketed. Comments from every corner of the galaxy flooded in. The Light Brain emitted a rapid series of BEEP BEEP BEEP sounds until Liang He, unable to stand the incessant noise, finally muted it.
"Why is everyone so excited? Is the Mengji Snow Leopard really this popular?"
Unaware of the underlying context, Liang He watched the netizens frantically commenting, downloading, and aggressively tipping her with virtual gold coins. The overwhelming response left her with no time to think.
Seeing Liang He grinning from ear to ear, the three large and two small Beast Beasts all looked back at her in curiosity. Had the two-legged beast they had been so carefully raising gone stupid?
"MEOW?"
Because of the Mengji Snow Leopard’s injuries, Liang He hadn’t allowed him to wander too far. Therefore, he was the first to trot back to her side, gazing up at her with evident concern.
"What’s wrong, Leopard?" Liang He asked.
Snapping out of her daydream of glittering wealth, Liang He gazed back at the Mengji Snow Leopard with gentle eyes and affectionately stroked his fur. This was her precious cash cow, after all. How could she not pamper him?
"MEOW~"
Seeing that Liang He had returned to normal, the Mengji Snow Leopard nuzzled her palm. Imitating the Mojin King Tiger, he put on an adorable display to act cute.
How could Cedriel tolerate this? He hastily shook off the two wolf pups, sprinted toward Liang He, and dove straight into her arms. From an angle where Liang He couldn’t see, he shot a smug glare at Kuang Ye, whom he had just forcefully shoved aside.
He thought indignantly, "Trying to compete with me for her favor? Not a chance! The door is firmly closed, and the windows are bolted tight!"
"Leopard! Are you okay?"
Since the Mengji Snow Leopard’s injuries had yet to fully heal, Liang He’s immediate, instinctive reaction was to check on him.
"MEOW... WHIMPER..."
Seeing the Mengji Snow Leopard roughly shoved aside by the Mojin King Tiger, only to crouch off to the side without daring to approach again—biting the tip of his tail in a pitiful, aggrieved manner—Liang He immediately furrowed her brows.
"Cedriel, how can you treat your friend like this?"
Liang He gently pushed Cedriel’s tiger head away. She looked at him with a stern expression, though she made sure to keep her tone gentle. It was perfectly normal for fluffy animals to be disobedient at times. She just needed to guide him patiently; scolding wouldn’t solve the problem.
"AWOO?"
Looking rather dense, Cedriel stared innocently at Liang He’s unprecedentedly stern expression. Then, catching a glimpse of the Mengji Snow Leopard putting on a pitiful act beside her, he suddenly had an epiphany.
He thought indignantly, "Oh, wonderful! One Green Tea Eagle isn’t enough, and now here comes a White Lotus Leopard! You’re all just teaming up to bully a pure, handsome tiger like me, aren’t you?!"
"AWOO! AWOO!"
Cedriel roared, angrily lodging his accusations against Kuang Ye. Seeing the tiger acting so unrepentant, Liang He began to wonder if she had perhaps wrongfully accused him, or if her tone had been too harsh and frightened him.
However, her resolve hardened when she turned to look at the Mengji Snow Leopard. He was lying sickly on the grass, entirely lethargic and clearly devoid of the energy needed to compete with the Mojin King Tiger.
"Cedriel! If you continue being so unfriendly to Kuang Ye, I will have no choice but to isolate him and take care of him separately."
Initially, Liang He had thought that because the Mojin King Tiger and the Canglan Hunting Eagle were so well-behaved, she wouldn’t need to worry much. She had assumed she could easily manage even with the addition of the Mengji Snow Leopard. Now, however, she was seriously considering whether she should isolate the leopard for his treatment.
It wasn’t a matter of "the squeaky wheel gets the grease," but rather that the Mengji Snow Leopard was currently a sick patient. If he were fully healthy and the animals wanted to play-fight, Liang He absolutely would not interfere.
"AWOO..."
Although Cedriel couldn’t understand exactly what Liang He was saying, a wild beast’s keen sixth sense told him that he couldn’t push his luck any further. He immediately lay down on the grass in an obedient posture, though the glare he shot at the Mengji Snow Leopard remained somewhat hostile.
This time, however, he was smart enough to hide it from Liang He’s line of sight.
"Alright, be good. I’m not scolding you. I just hope you can all get along amicably."
Seeing Cedriel acting so obedient and affectionately trying to win her favor, Liang He couldn’t bear to give him the cold shoulder. She reached out and gently pinched the Mojin King Tiger’s fluffy ears.
"AWOO~"
Sensing that Liang He had forgiven him, the Mojin King Tiger’s mood instantly soared. With his fluffy tail wagging cheerfully, the glance he cast toward the Mengji Snow Leopard turned triumphant.
However, he seemed to have completely forgotten about the two wolf pups he had abandoned in his haste. At that very moment, the clueless pups were toddling dangerously close to the nearby stream.
"SCREECH!"
