The Fluffballs I Fed Were SSS-Rank Beastmen
Chapter 30: The Three Beasts’ Chaotic Scene
Chapter 30: Chapter 30: The Three Beasts’ Chaotic Scene
"Thank goodness Liang He is finally back. If she hadn’t returned soon, I would have thought all those wonderful days we had recently were just a dream."
The colleagues in the central control room were the first to spot Liang He and her group on the surveillance monitors.
Ever since Liang He had left the reserve in the middle of the night, Cedriel and Lanton had essentially vanished from the control room’s monitors, as if they had reverted to their lives before meeting her. Only at night would they return to the service area. They would drag the blanket, which was full of Liang He’s scent, to the doorway and lay on it listlessly. Squinting their eyes, they sniffed the lingering fragrance, as if waiting for her return.
"Tell me about it. Seeing the Marshal and the Commander waiting so miserably for Liang He every night makes my heart ache," one of them said.
"Sigh, Cedriel and Lanton originally refused to leave her side no matter what. It took Liang He a good while to persuade them before she left."
The main issue was the long journey. If an accident happened, no one could bear the responsibility of the Marshal and the Commander getting injured.
As for Liang He, regardless of whether Lanton and Cedriel could understand her, she had repeatedly urged them to take good care of themselves and help each other. She told them to find the forest rangers if they got hurt, and absolutely forbade them from hiding away to lick their wounds alone, warning that she would be heartbroken if she returned to see them like that.
Thus, after being subtly guilt-tripped by Liang He, Cedriel and Lanton obediently stayed behind and watched her leave.
"AWOOO!"
"SCREECH!"
Liang He had just delivered the Mengji Snow Leopard to the treatment room when she heard the cries of the Mojin King Tiger and the Canglan Hunting Eagle from behind. She quickly turned around and ran toward them.
"Cedriel! Lanton!"
The sense of smell of ferocious beasts was always exceptionally keen. The moment Liang He stepped into the boundaries of the Seventh Service Area, the Mojin King Tiger and the Canglan Hunting Eagle caught her scent immediately. They even abandoned the prey they were actively hunting and bolted straight toward her.
"SCREECH~"
Relying on his massive wings, the Canglan Hunting Eagle was the first to embrace Liang He. Gently enveloped by his warm wings, she looked up at the eagle, who stood even taller than she did, and reached out to scratch his chin.
"Lanton, I missed you so much! Have you been a good boy?"
"SCREECH~"
The Canglan Hunting Eagle actively lowered his head, rubbing his crown against Liang He’s palm. His eagle eyes were filled with longing and intimacy, melting Liang He’s heart to the core. She leaned in and planted a kiss right on his forehead.
"AWOOO!"
Falling a step behind, the Mojin King Tiger nearly jumped in anxiety as he watched Liang He completely engulfed by Lanton’s massive wings, with no blind spots whatsoever.
He wanted to see Liang He too! He wanted kisses, hugs, and pets as well!
"Alright, alright, I hear you!"
Laughing at the Mojin King Tiger’s anxious roars, Liang He slipped out from under Lanton’s wings. She was then instantly enveloped in a tight hug by the frantic Cedriel, nearly tumbling to the ground in the process.
"AWOOO~"
Having finally embraced the person he yearned for day and night, the Mojin King Tiger draped his two front paws heavily over Liang He’s shoulders. He continuously rubbed his large head against her, wanting to completely cover her in his scent—the unique marking method of a big cat!
"I know, I know. I promise I won’t leave you guys for this long next time, okay?"
She continuously stroked the Mojin King Tiger’s fur, not forgetting to soothe their worried hearts. It wasn’t until the Mengji Snow Leopard, watching this scene through the glass window of the treatment room, made a sound of discovery that Liang He blinked innocently.
"MEOW!"
"AWOOO?"
"SCREECH?!"
She wondered, "Why do I feel like a two-timer? It’s as if I already have two husbands at home, yet I went on a business trip and brought back a boy toy. And now the boy toy just realized he’s fallen for a married woman, leaving him completely shocked and heartbroken."
"Ahem, well... how about I introduce you to a new friend?"
Shocked by her own wild imagination, Liang He shook her head vigorously in an attempt to return to normal. She then offered an awkward smile to the three Beast Beasts.
The Mengji Snow Leopard’s injuries hadn’t healed yet, and it wasn’t suitable for him to live directly with Cedriel and Lanton right now, so Liang He temporarily arranged for him to stay in the treatment room. Once his wounds were mostly healed, the three Beast Beasts would likely be familiar with each other, and it would be a better time for him to move into the animal dormitories.
"ROAR!"
The Mojin King Tiger rushed to the glass window of the treatment room and began to roar furiously, attempting to scare away this newcomer.
"ROAR!"
However, the Mengji Snow Leopard wasn’t a pushover either. He showed no fear of the Mojin King Tiger’s warnings, completely ignoring his own injuries. If it hadn’t been for the glass window separating them, the two beasts probably would have started fighting on the spot.
"Cedriel, Kuang Ye, stop roaring! I feel like there’s an earthquake!"
With the two beasts roaring, innocent bystanders suffered. As the unfortunate bystander caught in the crossfire, Liang He was nearly deafened by the vibrations and felt completely dizzy.
"AWOOO..."
"MEOW, MEOW!"
They both thought, "Boo-hoo, you are actually scolding me for another beast?! I can’t live like this anymore!"
"Alright, alright, I know I was wrong."
Listening to the accusing whines of the Mojin King Tiger and the Mengji Snow Leopard, Liang He felt increasingly guilty. Only the Canglan Hunting Eagle acted like a big brother, protecting her under his wings.
"Lanton? Are you not mad at me?"
"SCREECH~"
Comforted by Lanton’s actions, Liang He immediately looked up at him with sparkling eyes, feeling both gratified and moved.
Sure enough, Lanton was the best!
The Mojin King Tiger and the Mengji Snow Leopard thought, "You Green Tea Eagle!"
To prevent the Canglan Hunting Eagle from reaping the spoils of their conflict again, the Mojin King Tiger and the Mengji Snow Leopard—acting as the proverbial fighting snipe and clam—reached a consensus during their very first meeting.
"MEOW~"
"AWOOO~"
The soft calls of the two big cats finally drew Liang He’s attention back to them. Seeing that they were no longer looking at each other with hostility, Liang He was so moved she almost cried.
She thought, "This is great! My boys really are good cubs after all!"
"Good babies, I’ll go make you something delicious right away, okay?"
Eager to please them, Liang He hurried toward the temporary kitchen without stopping. As she passed the blanket tossed at the entrance of the animal dormitories, she didn’t even have the time to wonder why it was there.
When she arrived, she was surprised to discover that the reserve had actually taken advantage of her absence to completely renovate the temporary kitchen!
"This is absolutely amazing!"
Looking at the new kitchen—which was connected to the storage room, spacious and bright, and equipped with the best kitchen appliances on Blue Star—Liang He’s eyes sparkled with pleasant surprise. She continuously paced around, inspecting her new "battlefield."
Having just finished a meeting, Huo An arrived at the central control room. Seeing the footage of Liang He running excitedly around the new kitchen, his eyes softened, and the corners of his mouth curled into a slight smile.
"Director, you’re back!"
Upon seeing Huo An, the Head Stationmaster immediately stepped forward, eager to quickly hand over the work from the past few days. Just filling in for this short period had nearly shattered his old bones. Huo An’s job as Director was far from easy! It was no wonder that no one had ever thought of competing with him for the position. Who would want to work day and night like a beast of burden?! It was completely exhausting!
"Yes, thank you for your hard work during this time. Take a couple of days off to rest and recover."
Huo An was very respectful and considerate toward the Head Stationmaster, who was over fifty years old. He gave him two days off to get some proper rest.
After completing the work handover and seeing the Head Stationmaster off, Huo An shifted his gaze back to the surveillance monitor showing Liang He. He then saw the scene of his foolish nephew being besieged by Cedriel and Lanton.
"Ahhh! I wasn’t the one who kidnapped Liang He, so why are you taking it out on me?! Liang He, help me!"
