Chapter 117: Chapter 117: She Always Respects the Feelings of Fluffy Creatures

Liang He had been in the spotlight too much lately. While some admired her, others naturally found her an eyesore.

"She could have just waited until daytime to wash him, but she insisted on making a big fuss in the dead of night. What if the Platinum Giant Lion gets sick?"

Liang He had decided to bathe the Platinum Giant Lion on a whim. However, the temperature at night was always lower than during the day, and they were outdoors. Most of the people here were breeders, so it was only normal for them to voice their complaints out of concern for the animal.

"She’s just a young person after all, doing things so recklessly. Sigh..."

The murmurs of the crowd were not quiet. Both Hoder and Soros heard them, but Liang He didn’t react at all. She remained completely focused on bathing the Platinum Giant Lion.

"Don’t you care that they’re badmouthing you?" Soros asked, unable to understand Liang He’s composure.

"Why should I care? In the time it would take to explain, I’d already have finished washing Cyril." Liang He pursed her lips speechlessly. Finding Soros to be in the way, she signaled for Hoder to drag him aside.

"She..."

"You still don’t get it?" Hoder struck first, staring at Soros with his arms crossed, but his voice was loud enough for everyone else to hear. "What Liang He means is that a beast as massive as the Platinum Giant Lion doesn’t have such a weak immune system. Besides, if an animal is pampered too much in captivity, it’s actually more prone to getting sick out in the wild."

He was explaining on Liang He’s behalf to prevent the uninformed crowd from being misled by those with ulterior motives, which would leave them with a bad impression of her.

"If that’s the case, taking a bath isn’t necessary either. Lions don’t take baths in the wild," the person who had earlier accused Liang He of putting on a show couldn’t help but retort.

"Well, there’s nothing we can do about that. If you’re so capable, why don’t you try stopping Cyril from being so clingy with Liang He? Even he knows that if he wants to sleep in the same bed as her, he has to be squeaky clean." Hoder shot the person a frosty glare. He had even learned how to make sarcastic remarks, which almost made the noblewoman who had snuck over to watch the drama burst out laughing on the spot. "If you ask me, Liang He has no problem with the bath, and Cyril has no problem with it. Yet you, someone who has absolutely nothing to do with this, are the one complaining. How ridiculous."

Having spent so much time with Liang He, Hoder had picked up quite a few of Blue Star’s witty quips. The other party didn’t necessarily understand the exact phrasing, but he definitely knew it wasn’t anything nice. He immediately fumed with rage, unable to speak for a long time.

"Hoder, hold the hose for me."

Just as Hoder was feeling incredibly smug about his formidable verbal combat skills, a single call from Liang He pulled him off the battlefield and right back into his support role. During their back-and-forth verbal sparring, Liang He had quickly finished bathing the Platinum Giant Lion. After rinsing off the suds, she wrapped him in an oversized bath towel and led him indoors.

"How did Liang He wash the Platinum Giant Lion so fast? Usually, when I bathe a small or medium-sized predator, it takes me an hour at minimum."

"You’ll have to ask the Platinum Giant Lion that. At first, he resisted the bath, but after one word from Liang He, he obediently turned into a statue and let her do whatever she wanted."

"The Platinum Giant Lion’s cooperation is one thing, but Liang He’s speed is genuinely fast. Her movements were incredibly swift and precise, without a single second wasted."

The more diligent breeders were already summarizing their observations. One quick-witted person had even recorded it in advance, and several nearby breeders were hounding them for the video so they could study it later.

Following the staff’s instructions, Liang He led the Platinum Giant Lion to a large drying cabin. Seeing that the size was just barely big enough, she pulled off the bath towel wrapped around him and let him walk in by himself.

"AWOO..."

As it was his first time entering a drying cabin, the Platinum Giant Lion was a bit resistant. Liang He didn’t force him. She prepared to take on the tiring task of blow-drying him herself. But as she was blowing his fur dry, the Platinum Giant Lion seemed to notice how much effort it was taking her. He turned around, obediently walked into the drying cabin, and sat down like a well-behaved child, waiting for Liang He to close the door.

"Wow, the big lion is so well-behaved!" Beibei, who had been pestering the noblewoman to come see the big lion and the big sister, suddenly appeared beside Liang He. Her large, round eyes stared unblinking at the Platinum Giant Lion, full of adoration and affection.

"Beibei, don’t bother the big sister." Catching Liang He’s surprised gaze, the noblewoman offered an embarrassed, tight-lipped smile. "Miss Liang He, we didn’t mean to disturb you. It’s just that Beibei kept thinking about how you and Cyril saved her, so she was clamoring to come see you."

"I see. It’s fine. It’ll take some time for Cyril’s fur to dry anyway, so it might get a bit boring. Beibei isn’t allergic to animal fur, is she?" Liang He inquired carefully, acting even more cautious than the mother herself. This made the noblewoman feel a warm sense of gratitude.

After all, as a mother, her child was her top priority. When someone showed kindness to her child, she naturally felt happy, and it also meant they weren’t being a nuisance.

"She’s not. She’s loved small animals since she was little, otherwise I wouldn’t have brought her to Greenfield Star."

"That’s good. However, Cyril doesn’t like the drying cabin. I might need to adjust the room temperature to around twenty-six degrees Celsius and then blow-dry him. Is that alright?" Although the Platinum Giant Lion had willingly entered the drying cabin, Liang He still didn’t want to subject him to it. She planned to raise the room temperature and dry him slowly.

"Of course."

Twenty-six degrees was a comfortable temperature for the human body as well. As long as they stayed hydrated, there wouldn’t be any issues, so the noblewoman naturally had no objections. Having obtained permission, Liang He smiled and waved at the Platinum Giant Lion, gesturing for him to leave the drying cabin.

"Cyril, come here. We aren’t using the drying cabin anymore."

"AWOO~"

The bewildered Platinum Giant Lion obediently ran to Liang He’s side. His tall, imposing figure instantly cast a shadow over Beibei, which delighted the little girl so much that she started playing a game of stepping on his shadow. After leaving the cramped drying cabin, the large beast visibly brightened up. This made Liang He even more certain that she had made the right decision.

"I really didn’t expect that Liang He would choose the much harder and physically exhausting method of blow-drying just for Cyril’s comfort."

The area where the drying cabin was located was actually a lecture room used for classes, so it was surrounded by transparent glass to allow students to observe. Perhaps wanting to see what other tricks Liang He might pull, or perhaps genuinely wanting to learn from her, quite a few people had gathered around.

"Tell me about it. I saw the Platinum Giant Lion enter the drying cabin on his own. If it were me, I would have happily slammed the door shut to save time and effort."

Thinking about it this way, it made perfect sense why Liang He was so favored by the animals. As breeders, their sole focus was on healing the animals’ injuries, ensuring a healthy diet, and ultimately returning them to nature. However, through their observations over the past two days, they could feel that Liang He didn’t treat the animals as a mere bystander or a typical breeder.

"Liang He genuinely places animals on equal footing with herself and respects their thoughts. She never forces them to do anything. Even when they’re willing to compromise for her sake, she refuses to let them."

Standing at the doorway, Hoder happened to overhear their conversation and took the opportunity to boost Liang He’s image even more. Hearing this, several scholars, experts, and experienced breeders nodded in admiration. Nobody brought up the fact that Liang He was bathing the Platinum Giant Lion late at night anymore.

"By the way, who are the lady and the child inside..."
