1321 Selecting the Candidate(8)

Chapter 1321: Selecting the Candidate(8)

After waiting for a while, Fret finally got his turn. He decided to follow the sequence and placed the [Adamantine Blitz Impact] skill card in the respective compartment.

The next moment, Gret found himself in a different environment. He found that even though he had a physical body, he couldn’t control it even to move any of his fingers. It was purely an experience session.

In front of Gret stood a couple of figures surrounding him. Gret didn’t have a very strong personality due to all the taunts and mockeries he had faced from his siblings all his life.

When he saw the figures looking at him with brutality visible in their eyes, Gret wanted to run. Unfortunately for him, his body was out of his control, and could do nothing.

Gret’s consciousness was shaking in fright, looking at so many brutal stares targeted at him. The body, on the other hand, stood unfazed by those stares.

Growl! Roar!

Different kinds of sounds rang in the area as the enemies made their moves.

Gret’s body also acted. The next moment, a wave of elemental light appeared, and in no time, it surrounded him.

Soon, it took on the sheen of adamantine, while small, sharp projectiles began to form around him. The glow on his body grew in intensity, and similarly, the growth rate of the projectiles grew.

Those projectiles were like parts of his body, and there was no discomfort in controlling them. When the enemies around him finally entered the range of the skill, the projectiles flew at them.

It was as if a hot knife was cutting through butter. There was no restriction, and the projectiles easily pierced the enemies.

Wherever the piercing would happen, that body part would explode. The range of piercing was small, but the sheer number of projectiles and their strength made sure of the vast damage it would cause to the enemies.

After getting pierced through all the vital body parts, the first enemy finally died and formed a large blood pool. The others in the group ignored their comrade’s death and kept charging.

They tried to use defenses, but in front of those quick and sharp projectiles, having or not having a defense was equal. Gret’s consciousness also stopped shaking when he saw the scene in front of him.

In no time, a few of his enemies had died gruesome deaths, with their bodies not intact anymore.

Time flew by, and the barrage of numerous projectiles continued. It only stopped when the last enemy was brutally killed.

Looking at the gruesome scene in front of him, Gret took a deep breath. He thought in his mind whether it was the correct decision to pick the skill.

Even though his siblings had mocked him all his life, he didn’t want his siblings to replace those gruesome corpses. At the end of the day, they were family, not enemies.

While Gret was thinking, a white light surrounded him, and soon he found himself back in the store.

Gret stopped thinking about his choice since it depended on the user’s ability to use the skill. The next moment, the screen on the semi-pillar lit up and took his immediate attention.

Gret looked at the screen and found the content on it to be immediately engraved in his mind, never to be forgotten.

[Skill: Adamantine Blitz Impact

Level: God

Cultivator: Early to Peak Lesser God

Compatibility: 67%

Training Time: Two thousand eight hundred sixty-nine years.]

Gret thought it would take him several months or a few years at most to learn all the skills, but he couldn’t be any more wrong. Just the first skill required him to spend around three millennials to master.

Gret could only take a helpless sigh since it meant that he would have to wait for several meetings before he could show his talent. For someone like him, who had lived for millions of years, several thousand years wasn’t much to be worried about. It only meant that he would be able to thoroughly impress his siblings once he had completely mastered the skill.

Gret then stopped thinking about what would happen in the future and returned to reality. He pulled out the skill card and placed the second attacking skill he had bought.

Time flew by.

Even though hours had passed for Gret, only a few seconds had passed in reality.

Gret placed the [Mithril Sprint] skill card in the respective compartment, and the next moment, he found himself in a different environment.

Gret was in an area filled with active volcanoes on the verge of exploding. It should have been hot, but there was a chill in the area.

Gret’s consciousness shuddered when he sensed the chill. It wasn’t a literal chill but a figurative one due to the extreme danger.

A True God shouldn’t be worried about a volcano explosion since even if they were to be at the center of it, their body would feel nothing. But the situation turned dangerous when the volcanoes weren’t emitting standard lava but lava laced with potent elemental energy.

Boom!

Suddenly, an explosion rang, and a volcano at a distance of a few miles from Gret exploded, creating an enormous dust cloud and rain of lava.

It seemed as if some chain reaction had started, and one after another, volcanoes began to explode.

Gret’s consciousness could see his death coming, but at the important moment, the body acted and activated [Mithril Sprint].

The next moment, a small elemental storm erupted around him, and the metal particles began to gather; soon they formed the metal mithril. The metal showed its fluid grace and speed as it bound itself to Gret’s feet.

The next moment, when Gret took a step forward, his speed was at its quickest. He immediately increased the gap between him and the ocean of lava.

The lava ocean was no laughing matter; the more energy-laced lava it accumulated, the wilder it became, and its speed increased.

Time flew by, and after running a long distance, Gret finally stopped since he no longer needed to run and was safe from the lava.
