The Fake Son Wants to Live [BL]
Chapter 295 - Who are you?
Chapter 295: Chapter 295 - Who are you?
Holding Xing Yu’s hand, Jian hesitantly entered the towering castle. The structure was enormous, like a huge crystal tower rising so high that the clouds hid its tip. The doorway was arched, with multitudes of gems and crystals stuck into it in a beautiful pattern. Every step they took made the crystals around them shimmer under the light, making the whole place look almost unreal.
It was so breathtakingly beautiful that Jian couldn’t help but stare.
After a few seconds, he quickly closed his gaping mouth before anyone could notice and embarrass himself.
Nansich, on the other hand, didn’t seem to care about looking dignified at all. His mouth was hanging wide open as he stared around the castle, almost unable to believe what he was seeing.
"Fucking hell. This place is so massive and beautiful." He nudged Jian with his elbow and looked at him. "So you get to live here now?"
Jian hesitantly nodded.
"Yeah... I guess I do."
He still found it strange to say that.
This was his home.
His real home.
Jian looked around again before his eyes slowly landed on Xing Yu.
"Will you stay here as well?"
Xing Yu’s fingers tightened around his hand.
"It is not proper for me to stay here."
"What?" Jian immediately frowned. "Why not?"
"Because..." Xing Yu sighed, looking just as unhappy about it as he was. He gently lifted his lover’s hand and kissed the back of it, but there was a faint frustration in his eyes. "I... I cannot stay together with you until we are wed, my dear."
Jian’s mouth fell open.
"What?"
He looked at Xing Yu as if he had just heard something ridiculous.
"But we just got here!"
"I know."
"And you’re already leaving me?"
"I am not leaving you," Xing Yu quickly said, though the slight helplessness in his expression showed that he wasn’t happy about it either. "I simply cannot stay in your room until we are married."
Jian’s cheeks puffed slightly as he glared at him.
That stupid marriage.
They had already gone through so much together, and now that they had finally returned to Gia, there were still rules keeping them apart. Jian looked down at their joined hands and then at his lover again, clearly dissatisfied.
Nansich, standing beside them, looked between the two of them before rolling his eyes.
"You two haven’t even been here for ten minutes and you’re already arguing about your wedding."
Jian ignored him and continued staring at Xing Yu.
Xing Yu could only sigh before squeezing Jian’s hand.
"I will do everything in my power to get our wedding approval as quickly as possible."
Jian finally calmed down a little, but the pout on his lips remained.
Then the thought he had been trying to push away suddenly came rushing back.
His grandfather.
The small smile disappeared from his face.
"Do you think my grandfather is still alive...?"
His fingers unconsciously tightened around Xing Yu’s hand.
Xing Yu noticed immediately. He gently turned Jian’s hand over and held it between both of his palms. "I believe he is. And I will do everything in my power to find him and get our wedding approval."
He leaned down and kissed Jian’s hand again.
Jian looked at him for a few seconds before giving a small nod, but the worry in his eyes didn’t disappear.
Before Jian could sink any deeper into his thoughts, Nansich suddenly let out a loud sigh.
"Can you guys keep your lovey-dovey stuff somewhere else?" He rubbed his tired face and yawned. "I really, really want to sleep. Show me to my room, please..." He looked at Jian with tired eyes, almost like a lost puppy.
Jian stared at him for a moment before laughing. "Fine."
Xing Yu also sighed and finally released his hand. "I’ll show you both to your rooms. Lunch will be ready in an hour. The servants will come to inform you." He looked at Jian intently. "If you do not wish to eat at the dining table, you can definitely inform them. You do not have to force yourself to do anything."
Jian nodded.
Xing Yu then stepped closer and gently fixed a strand of Jian’s hair that had fallen over his face. "Just... this is your home now." His fingers lingered against his hair for a moment. "You can be comfortable here. The people around you love you and respect you."
Jian looked up at him quietly with a smile.
Xing Yu’s expression softened. "And if anyone disrespects you, I will be there to support you."
"You better be."
"I will." Kissing his lover’s cheeks Xing yu led him inside by his hand.
Right after the three walked into the castle, Dican, who had been watching their distant figures, finally snapped out of his dazed state. The shimmering gem between his brows slowly went dull once more, and the strange feeling that had taken over his body seemed to fade with it.
"Dican! How can you do this! I am your mate! I am!" Bian screamed in his face. His face was wet with tears as he looked up at him, his voice trembling with anger and panic.
Dican just blinked at him.
What is going on here...? Why am I here...? What just happened?
He blinked again and rubbed his aching head.
His mind felt strange.
It was as if parts of his memories had suddenly been flushed out of his mind, leaving behind only scattered fragments that he couldn’t properly connect.
A soft hug.
Soft hair brushing against his face.
Warmth.
A familiar scent.
Dican’s fingers slowly touched his own cheeks.
He could still remember that sensation so vividly.
But why?
Who had he been holding?
Why had he been holding them?
"What just happened...?" he muttered, his brows furrowing as he tried to force his memories back into place.
"Dican? Are you feeling well?"
Celaus gently patted his shoulder.
Dican slowly lifted his head and stared at his brother.
For a moment, his dazed eyes widened.
"Brother... you’re... you’re back?"
"Yeah, I am." Celaus faintly frowned. "You just welcomed me home, remember? Is everything well, brother?"
Dican stared at him.
No.
Everything was not well.
He looked around slowly.
The council was there.
His father was there.
There were several familiar faces around him, people he should have recognized without even thinking.
But his mind felt like a mess.
Everything was familiar, yet at the same time, everything felt strangely distant.
Everything was not well.
He was not well.
He... he was sick.
Dican suddenly pressed a hand against his head as another sharp ache went through it. His knees weakened, and he slowly squatted down on the ground, trying to steady himself.
Why can’t I remember things properly...?
His breathing became uneven.
What am I doing here...? Why am I here...?
Then another thought suddenly flashed through his mind.
I... I remember getting married...
Dican froze.
When?
When had he gotten married?
What had happened?
Who... who had he married?
His hand tightened against his head as he desperately tried to search through the broken pieces of his memories.
But all he could find were scattered images, broken sensations, and a strange emptiness where his memories should have been.
Who did I marry...?
