The Fake Son Wants to Live [BL]
Chapter 296 - A scrape goat
Chapter 296: Chapter 296 - A scrape goat
"Dican, are you alright...?"
Celaus gazed at his brother with deep concern. When he had left five years ago, Dican had been happy and cheerful, always smiling and joking around. But now, the same brother he remembered had been reduced to this confused and pale state, barely able to understand what was happening around him.
What had happened?
What had happened during those five years?
Celaus’s gaze slowly fell on Bian, Dican’s mate.
The man looked completely distraught. He was biting his lips so hard that they had started bleeding, and his bloodshot eyes remained fixed on Dican. His hands were trembling, yet his grip on Dican’s arm was frighteningly tight. The sleeves of his clothes had shifted slightly, revealing the metallic parts of his robotic arms.
Celaus’s expression darkened.
He knew how powerful those robotic arms could be. If Bian lost control, Dican could easily be hurt.
Gently, Celaus nudged Bian’s hands away from his brother and pulled Dican into his own embrace.
"It’s alright. I’ve got you."
Dican didn’t resist. He simply leaned against him, his eyes still dazed as he mumbled something incoherently under his breath.
Bian glared up at Celaus, his expression filled with anger and panic.
"I’ll have the healers administer a check on him. Excuse me."
Without waiting for Bian’s response, Celaus carried his brother away in his arms.
Dican’s head rested against his shoulder, his lips still moving as he muttered words that Celaus couldn’t understand.
Celaus tightened his hold on him.
His heart ached when he looked down at his brother.
This wasn’t the Dican he remembered.
Not even close.
Bian was left standing there, staring after them.
His chest rose and fell heavily as he clenched his robotic hands.
Then his gaze shifted toward the human standing nearby.
The Crown Prince’s mate.
The human looked completely awkward after witnessing everything. He glanced at Bian, gave him a small, uncertain wave, and then hurried after Celaus and Dican.
Bian’s face twisted.
Everything was slipping out of control.
And Dican...
Dican was slowly slipping out of his control as well.
He could feel it.
The moment Dican had looked at him, there had been something different in those eyes.
That unfamiliar look.
As if Dican didn’t even know who he was looking at.
Bian’s heart pounded painfully.
No.
This couldn’t be happening.
The purple serum’s power was diminishing.
He had noticed it before, but this time the change was impossible to ignore. Dican’s confusion wasn’t simply because of exhaustion. The control that had kept his memories buried and his emotions tied to Bian was becoming weaker.
And if it continued...
Dican would remember.
He would remember everything.
Bian’s fingers curled tightly into fists.
"Fuck," he cursed under his breath before quickly running after them.
He couldn’t let that happen.
Chapter 296
Celaus took his brother to the healing room, which was quite close to their father’s chambers. The moment he entered, he could already see the healers moving around hurriedly, checking on their queen.
Their mother lay there unmoving, her long blond hair spread out beneath her head as the healers worked around her.
Celaus paused for a second before carefully lowering Dican onto one of the chairs nearby.
A healer immediately rushed over to him.
"What happened, Your Highness?"
Dican shyed away from their touch, gripping his own hair tightly as he mumbled under his breath. He kept asking who he was, what he was doing there, and why he couldn’t remember anything properly. His eyes moved around the room in confusion, and the more he tried to remember, the more distressed he became.
He looked completely disoriented.
"I am unsure what is going on. Please have him completely checked out," Celaus said, gently nudging his younger brother’s head back when he tried to pull away from the healer.
Dican gazed up at him with those hollow, wide-open eyes.
"Brother... where... what...?"
"Shh... silence, Dican. Everything will be fine."
Celaus gently rubbed his hair, trying to calm him down.
The healers quickly administered medicine to Dican, and after a while, his struggling slowly stopped. His tense body relaxed, his eyes became heavier, and soon he closed them, falling into a deep slumber.
The healers immediately carried him over to one of the advanced healing devices and carefully immersed his slim body into a clear healing liquid. Bright golden and blue lights lit up around him, scanning every single part of his body.
Celaus stood to the side, watching the device carefully.
Behind him, he could hear the anxious sound of someone biting their nails.
He glanced back and spotted Bian standing there, nervously biting his fingernails while staring at Dican.
"He will be fine," Celaus assured him softly.
Bian barely seemed to register his words.
All of his attention was focused on Dican.
His eyes never left the healing device.
The Emperor, who was standing nearby beside his queen, also watched the scene with confused eyes. There was too much happening at once. His beloved mate was still unconscious, and now his son had suddenly collapsed after claiming that he couldn’t remember anything.
Celaus walked closer to his father and gently placed a hand on his slouched shoulder.
"How is Mother?"
"She is stable..." The Emperor’s voice was tired. "But they don’t know why she isn’t waking up." He looked toward Dican with worry. "What... what happened to Dican?"
"He found his second mate, and right after that, he collapsed and started mumbling incoherently," Celaus explained with a sigh.
Before the Emperor could say anything, Bian hurriedly stepped forward.
"It’s because of him! That Nansich! It’s because of him! He must have done something to Dican! Check him! He must have done something to Dican!"
Celaus turned his head and frowned.
He had only known Nansich for a few days, so he couldn’t claim to know the man well. But the other Farian soldiers seemed to trust him, and he had personally seen how Nansich had behaved so far.
There had been nothing suspicious about him.
"It’s him! He is the reason!" Bian continued when no one immediately reacted to his accusations.
Celaus looked at him calmly.
"We will investigate the problem. You don’t have to worry about a thing. Your mate is completely safe in here."
But those words didn’t reassure Bian at all.
In fact, they only made the panic inside him grow worse.
For all these years, Bian had avoided the healers’ bay with Dican at all costs. He had always found some excuse whenever Dican needed a full examination. He couldn’t allow any of these advanced devices to scan Dican too closely.
Because if they detected the purple serum in his system, he would be exposed.
And if he was exposed...
He would be flagged.
He could even be killed for what he had done.
Bian’s breathing became faster. His heart was pounding violently.
No...
Bian’s hand slowly slipped into his pocket and gripped the small container hidden inside it tightly.
Wait...
His eyes suddenly flickered.
I have someone to throw the blame at...
A small spark of hope appeared in his frightened eyes.
"I... no... no..."
Bian shook his head as if he couldn’t accept what was happening. Then, with tears quickly filling his eyes, he suddenly turned around and dramatically ran out of the healing bay.
No one stopped him.
But as he ran down the corridor, the fear in his expression slowly disappeared.
There was only one thought left in his mind.
I can blame Nansich.
And he would make sure everyone believed it.
