The Extra who regained his past life memories
Chapter 197 - master and disciple.
She looked at her rebellious disciple, who was rebelling against her, and gave her a glare.
The disciple shrank under her master’s glare.
I watched the comical scene and simply waited as the woman looked at me with narrowed eyes.
"Hmm, brat, what’s your relationship with this girl? Are you siblings?"
My eyes twitched as I removed my cloak.
"Do you see any resemblance between us?"
Her eyes twitched.
"Oh, you’re not so bad in the cuteness department either. So, what do you think about becoming my disciple?"
I looked at her with a strange gaze.
"Didn’t you just say a moment ago that you’re so famous that people beg to become your disciples? Why not take them? I’m not interested."
"Luna and I are adventuring and enjoying life. We don’t have time for those boring things."
"We’re plenty strong. No one from our generation can contend with us."
The woman raised an eyebrow.
"Oh? Confident, are we?"
I nodded as her disciple asked me, "Didn’t you say you were letting her sleep?"
"What if she wakes up?"
Then, she looked at Luna and, to her surprise, saw that Luna was sleeping like a newborn baby.
Her eyes widened.
"Ah, never mind. She seems to be a heavy sleeper."
I just looked at her and laughed.
"No way! She’s a light sleeper who sometimes gets bothered by even the slightest sounds."
"It’s just that I removed all the sounds around her so she could sleep well."
Her eyes lit up with curiosity.
"How did you do that?"
She had completely forgotten about her master by now.
Her master was dumbfounded.
"Hey, you rebellious disciple! Who’s the master here, and who’s the disciple? You’re ignoring me as if I’m your disciple!"
She smiled and replied, "It’s not like that, Master."
"It’s just that I got curious about this new magic, like how he managed to isolate the sound."
Her master looked at her excited expression and sighed. Then, she looked at Luna.
She was also a high-level mage, but Space was an entirely different matter. Unless someone had a connection to Space or possessed incredible abilities like Mom or the Empress, they could only sense a little of it.
She, too, looked at me curiously.
"Do tell us, brat. What kind of spell did you use to protect your little girlfriend’s sleep?"
I glared at her.
"She isn’t my girlfriend yet."
The mage woman raised an eyebrow, looking amused.
"Oh, not yet, huh? I understand, I understand."
I just huffed as she asked, "So, you’re still friends, and at this young age, you’re already chasing after her?"
My eyes twitched.
"Hey, nobody is chasing after anyone."
"If she decides to find someone else, I can still let her go."
She raised an eyebrow.
"Oh? Then tell me, what is she to you?"
I looked at Luna’s sleeping face and said, "We’re engaged, but our families said that if we find we’re not suitable for each other, we can break it off."
"But as for me, I’m not breaking it off."
She smiled as she saw Luna’s eyes flutter.
I removed the Space Barrier and looked at her.
"Oh, good morning, sleeping princess."
Her eyes narrowed with annoyance.
"Grayyy..."
I smiled as she felt the change in temperature.
She blinked in surprise, but her body didn’t shiver. Her constitution was far too strong for that.
An Ice Sovereign shivering from the cold? I laughed so hard that she would definitely hit me.
Then, she looked at the other two people in the carriage and asked, "What’s going on...?"
But before I could explain, that damn mage woman chimed in.
"Hey, how about becoming my disciple?"
"What do you think? Isn’t it amazing?"
Luna blinked in confusion as she looked at me.
I just shook my head.
The woman continued, "What do you think? It’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity!"
"Don’t miss out on it!"
Then, she tapped her disciple on the shoulder and said, "Hey, Lily, talk to her."
Lily looked at her master speechlessly.
Luna politely refused.
"Thank you for the offer, but I have to refuse."
"My mother told me there’s no one on this continent stronger than her, if we ignore the other continents. So, I don’t need to become anyone’s disciple. She can teach me herself or find someone else to teach me anything I need to know."
The mage woman and Lily looked at Luna with dumbfounded expressions.
The mage woman said, "It seems your mother is just as arrogant as this brat over here."
"If she knew who I was, she wouldn’t say that."
My eyes twitched, but I stayed quiet.
However, Luna spoke up.
"No, I trust my mom, and I really don’t think anyone could be my mother’s opponent besides Gray’s mom."
I looked at the mage woman.
"Told you she’d refuse."
The mage woman looked at Luna speechlessly before saying, "Hey, little girl, I’m one of the greatest mages on this continent! Everyone respects me, and people ask to become my disciples, but I refuse them."
"That’s because I only take disciples when I feel like it."
I corrected her from the side.
"More like you take disciples based on their looks."
A black line appeared on her face.
"You brat! What did you just say?"
But then she asked, "Oh, I’m getting off-topic. Tell me about the spell you used to separate the sound."
I just shrugged.
"It’s not a big deal. I simply used a Space Barrier to separate the space, allowing the conditions inside the barrier to remain unchanged so nobody could disturb her."
Her eyes nearly popped out.
"What did you say, you brat?! You can use Space, and not only that, you can do something like that so easily? The only person I know who can do something like that is Astra!"
My eyes lit up.
"Oh, you mean that stingy principal of the academy?"
She almost choked on her words.
"What did you say? Stingy?! I’ve never heard anyone call her that! She’s a figure who commands respect, and it seems you know her."
"And even knowing her, you still call her that? Who exactly are you?"
I frowned.
"What do you mean? I just asked her some questions because last time she mentioned the Laws, and she has the Space Law."
"But that stingy principal told me to come to her academy and become her disciple so she could teach me about them."
"Hmph! I asked my sister about them and got the answers. She’s dreaming if she thinks I’ll become her disciple. If I become her disciple, who knows what she’ll make me do?"
"She’d work me to the bone! I want to enjoy academy life, not become her disciple and work to the bone!"
Luna laughed from the side.
"That’s so like you, Gray."
"If she heard you, you’d certainly get scolded."
The mage woman was left speechless, her hands clasped in front of her.
To her, Principal Astra was a figure worthy of deep respect. Yet here I was, talking about her as if she were trying to force me into becoming her disciple.
Then, she composed herself and asked seriously, "What is your identity, really?"
Lily also asked from the side.
I just shrugged and said, "Oh, I’m from the Starlight family, and she’s from the royal family. Our moms are close to the principal, so we’re acquainted with her."
Her eyes twitched violently as all the pieces of the puzzle fell into place. She remembered our entire conversation, including Luna’s claim that her mother was the strongest and our casual, dismissive attitude toward the principal.
However, she still managed to maintain her composure.
As for Lily, she was completely petrified. She pointed a finger at Luna.
"You... You’re the princess?"
Luna glared at me as if to say, Why did you tell them?
But she immediately looked at Lily and said, "Hmm, yes. I’m the third princess of this continent. But this is just an informal setting, so consider me an ordinary traveler passing by."
Lily nodded, still processing the information.
I smiled at her reaction.
She’s cute, but still not as cute as Luna.
The mage woman finally nodded, having processed all the information.
"Hmm, that makes sense. Now I understand why you turned down a great mage like me."
My eyes twitched.
"More like an old mage."
She almost hit me.
"You brat! Don’t think that just because you’re from the Starlight family, I wouldn’t hesitate to teach you a lesson!"
Luna added from the side, "That’s a bad idea because Gray’s mother, Aunt Seraphina, loves Gray like he’s part of her. No, even more than that! So, just imagine what would happen if someone did something to him."
Luna carefully observed the mage woman’s reaction, thoroughly enjoying it as a mischievous smile appeared on her face.
She didn’t get many opportunities to play this card because most people never gave her such a chance.
She clearly saw a visible shiver run down the mage woman’s body.
The entire continent knew Seraphina Starlight as a cold, ruthless woman who wouldn’t hesitate to wipe someone out if they crossed her.
The mage woman looked at me and let out a massive sigh. Then, she reached out to touch my head, only for her hand to stop midway because of my Space Barrier.
She hadn’t even used much force.
I looked at Luna’s mischievous smile and sighed.
