The Evil God Summoned by the Saintess

Chapter 629 - 627: "Toying with" Phil

  • Next Chapter

On the other side, Rose arrived at the edge of the square where Phil often performs healing, putting on the usual attire he wears when meeting Phil—a black robe with a hood that conceals his face.

Then, he quietly waited.

He had chosen a time when Phil would have mostly finished a round of treatment.

According to the observations from the past few days, after finishing the purification treatment, she would always run alone to a man-made lake near the treatment area to digest the surging pollution and life force.

To dispel pollution for hundreds of people, the method Phil used was absorb and purify, a naturally efficient approach but equivalent to transferring others’ pain onto herself. Without timely processing, even with a special physique, problems could arise.

"Phew~"

Phil gently exhaled, touched her cheek, feeling the pain radiating from her body, her expression somewhat pale.

"Continuous absorption of pollution is too much for my body to handle. If I don’t slow down, there might really be issues..."

Phil patted her cheeks and shook her head.

"I can’t rest yet, there are so many people. If necessary, I should absorb some pollution, then expel it after the situation is resolved..."

"Oh? You desire to become my servant?"

A voice suddenly chimed in her ear.

The familiar voice startled Phil, and she nearly fell, but was caught by hands reaching out from the front.

Panicking, Phil looked up at the figure shrouded in a black robe, face hidden.

"Ro-Ro-Rose!? Wh-What are you doing here?"

Rose looked at her, chuckled faintly, and said, "Follow me."

Phil intertwined her fingers, her mind in turmoil.

She wanted to escape, but ultimately obediently followed behind Rose to a tree by the roadside.

"Extend your hand," Rose commanded.

Phil’s heart tightened, hesitatingly wanting to extend her hand but afraid to do so.

"Didn’t you hear?" Rose’s tone became stern.

"I-I heard!"

Phil quickly extended her hand, placing it before Rose.

Rose took hold of her hand, slowly dispelling the severe Demonic Qi pollution accumulated within her.

The feeling of pain swiftly vanished, and the comfortable warmth made Phil involuntarily hum, before realizing and nervously glancing at Rose.

She remembered Rose had mentioned not absorbing too much pollution.

Yet she had always disobeyed Rose’s words.

This was one source of her nervousness.

The other was naturally the identity of Rose as an Evil God.

But more than anything, Phil’s habitual behavior had continually defied Rose’s advice.

As the healing gradually concluded, Phil stood anxiously, unsure what to do, resorting again to intertwining her fingers and fidgeting.

A moment later, Rose’s voice rang out: "You’ve certainly not kept my words in mind."

Phil said nervously, "I-I haven’t, this time... it was accidental. I can’t remain indifferent to so many people’s suffering..."

"So you let their suffering transfer to yourself?" Rose asked calmly.

Phil lowered her head, speaking softly, "So many people suffer, better it all be passed to me, let me bear it alone..."

"It seems you’ve prepared to become my servant," Rose suddenly chuckled, reaching out to gently stroke Phil’s white hair.

Due to the life elements accompanying the pollution, her white hair wasn’t dry but rather sleek, as if conditioned.

Phil panicked.

She felt a mysterious force from Rose’s hand entering her mind.

She didn’t know what it was, but coupled with Rose’s words, she felt...

Could it be the Evil God is finally making a move on me?

"Ro-Rose, please, two more days! I haven’t... finished healing in Mountain Forest City yet. Can you allow me to complete it, then become your servant?" Phil pleaded.

"You’re negotiating with an Evil God?" Rose chuckled.

"I..."

Phil showed a despairing expression.

It seemed there was no way to prevent Rose’s transformation.

Phil couldn’t help but recall accidentally entering a certain underground altar once, mistakenly becoming a ’sacrifice,’ forcibly elevated to a Tier Five Mage, losing her sanity, ravaging her father’s city.

Although her father had arrived in time, preventing major damage, that feeling was something she never wanted to experience again.

If becoming an Evil God’s servant is akin to that daily?

Phil was extremely fearful.

Various thoughts churned in her mind, but she dared not move, obediently accepting Rose’s ’infusion.’

Moments later, Rose’s ’infusion’ concluded. He chuckled lightly and said, "I’ve added my unique imprint onto your soul. Now, each time you prepare to convert Abyss power into your own, you’ll be one step closer to becoming the Abyss Princess. Strive for transformation, I look forward to the day you become the Abyss Princess."

After speaking, Rose left, sensing Benovia approaching.

This girl was curious, but Rose had no intention to obstruct her coming.

From the time she approached till now, he’d had enough time to finish and leave.

It’s worth mentioning that he could actually forge a connection between the Magic Puppet and Benovia.

Thus, Benovia hadn’t really come to Phil but was nearby.

Rose now allowed the Magic Puppet to return to the area she perceived, waiting for her there.

This area wasn’t far from Phil; the two were sure to meet but wouldn’t witness each other’s dealings with the Gods.

Even Hilia and Benovia, aware of his existence, Rose had never appeared when they were together, allowing them to know internally without explicit disclosure.

The ’infusion’ Rose gave Phil was nothing substantial, merely adding mental imprints allowing her to connect with him, the talk of Abyss Princess transformation was just for deceiving Phil.

Of course, saying so wasn’t without benefits, at least it might prevent Phil from developing thoughts of absorbing pollution power—perhaps.

Another benefit was she would subconsciously acknowledge becoming Rose’s servant, indirectly strengthening the connection.

By then, obtaining fragments of the God of Life and Death’s Divine Format for her use would prevent scenarios like Shaline’s.

Though Rose felt Shaline’s failure was due to her divine contract degree not reaching 100%, precautions were necessary.

Initially, Rose intended to give Phil a ’progress bar,’ enabling her to perceive gradual transformation into the ’Abyss Princess,’ but reconsidered, realizing she might tread recklessly at 99%, finally deciding against it.

The unknown would instill fear, preventing thoughts of fusing Demonic Qi pollution.

Meanwhile, Benovia found her Magic Puppet.
