The Evil God Summoned by the Saintess
Chapter 630 - 628: A Coincidence That Isn’t One
"Huh?"
Benovia looked around, trying to find traces of Phil.
But unfortunately, she didn’t see any.
"Lord Rose, aren’t you here to find Phil?"
Benovia blinked and chose to directly ask Rose.
Rose didn’t speak, just stuffed her mind with a bunch of study materials.
They were real study materials, some lost life faction magic, including forbidden spells that could revive the recently deceased.
So Benovia was drawn to the knowledge Rose passed to her, temporarily forgetting to ask why Rose was controlling her magic puppet to come here.
Until ten or so minutes later, Phil walked over from another side with a worried mind, preparing to continue to her usual artificial lake.
This time, she wasn’t going to purify the pollution but to find solitude.
Rose suddenly appeared this time, directly preparing to ’transform’ her into the abyss princess, a genuine follower of the evil god, which made her panic and needed solitude.
Thus, Phil encountered Benovia, who was leaning against a tree trunk, appearing to be in a daze.
"Benovia?" Phil blurted out.
Benovia was startled awake, looked over, and seeing Phil, she was also taken aback, "Phil, why are you here?"
Because she was digesting that knowledge, Benovia didn’t react immediately at first and instinctively asked.
But she quickly came to her senses.
Wait!
Phil appeared here, and the god controlled her magic puppet, which also stopped here.
Could it be...?
Did she arrive earlier, causing the god to abandon contacting Phil?
Benovia’s mind turned, but she quickly discarded the idea.
No, it couldn’t be like that. When I came, it wasn’t immediately after. With the god’s abilities, he had undoubtedly already finished his business.
Could it be that the god changed places specifically to wait for me after finishing?
Benovia fell into contemplation. Just now, she felt the magic puppet’s activity range was always within this area. If things were already done...
"I plan to rest over there." Phil said, looking a bit flustered and not daring to meet Benovia’s eyes.
She felt her identity was different now.
She had changed from the holy court’s saintess to the evil god’s follower, the abyss princess.
And Benovia was still the pure holy court’s saintess, separated from her by a thick barrier...
The girl felt sadness welling up.
Seeing Phil’s strange expression, Benovia had a suspicion but still asked, "Have you been here all along?"
Phil blinked, confused, "Weren’t you here? I just came over from the treatment plaza."
Benovia closely observed Phil’s expression; when she spoke, her gaze didn’t waver, nor did it show any strange emotion, very natural, unlike the oddness in her earlier words.
So, were these words true?
Benovia was baffled.
Originally, she thought Rose had done some unspeakable thing with Phil here after which Phil pretended to leave, then came back.
But did Phil really come from over there?
Then...
Benovia was stunned.
Phil saw the dazed Benovia and waved her hand in front of her, puzzled, "Benovia, are you alright?"
Benovia came back to her senses, quickly shook her head, "I’m fine, I’m fine. By the way, are you going to the lake over there? Let’s go together, I just need to digest some too, shall we?"
"Alright."
Phil readily agreed.
Thus, both with different thoughts came to the lakeside, sat on a bench, watching the lake in silence.
Benovia couldn’t contain her curiosity, delving into the profound life faction magic that she couldn’t use now.
While Phil’s mind was a tangled mess, with no thought of speaking.
The sunset, Rose watched the two dazed girls and couldn’t help but smile.
"With my mark, plus the demonic qi Phil absorbed during this time, even if encountered by assassins, there’s no need to worry. Unless the elf race wishes to lose a tier six mage, they shouldn’t have any notion against Phil."
Rose pondered for a moment, left Benovia with a ’divine oracle,’ then vanished.
After a long while.
Benovia slowly came back from the ocean of knowledge.
She smacked her lips, "Such wondrous life magic, actually able to bring the recently deceased back to life, it’s so miraculous. Unfortunately, with my current power, I can’t use it. It seems related to the legendary ’rules’ power that only those at tier six can touch... Only tier six can use it, quite a pity."
Benovia was well-read, already having a deep understanding of all overt and covert knowledge below tier six, knowing the special aspects of each tier.
Like how tier four could draw on external magic power, greatly enhancing one’s combat ability and endurance, tier six also had a significant change of initially grasping the power of ’rules.’
The concept of ’rules’ was rather vague, Benovia only knew the name, guessing from it, she had no idea about the principles within.
After all, this is something that can only be comprehended after completing the tier six ascension trial, a very arcane thing, asking those tier six mages, they wouldn’t explain as it could affect themselves and others.
Benovia, her thoughts wandering for a moment, refocused on the surrounding environment.
Feeling the connection with the gods in her heart turn faintly perceivable again, Benovia knew Rose had left, no longer paying attention to matters here.
And beside her...
She saw Phil still in a daze.
Even waving a hand in front of her, she didn’t respond.
Benovia pondered for a moment, sparked a bold idea.
"Could it be that Phil can already communicate with the gods? Does she also have a spiritual object level magic puppet heart?"
Benovia’s eyes lit up; she looked at Phil for a while and decided to wait until Phil ’woke up’ on her own to ask what was up.
The process didn’t take long.
After the sky gradually darkened, Phil returned from her thoughts.
She sighed softly, her expression complex.
At this, Benovia’s voice came from beside her: "Dazed for so long, is Phil communicating with the gods?"
Phil froze, shook her head: "No, I was just, just thinking about some things..."
Benovia observed her expression for a moment, secretly pursing her lips.
Phil’s expression was odd, but it seemed like she was speaking the truth.
So much so, she couldn’t feel certain whether Phil was communicating with the gods.
After some dilemma, Benovia decided not to think about it.
Because Rose’s divine oracle had arrived.
Rose told her that her task was complete and she could return.
Just consider Phil as having contact with the gods!
Benovia thought, stood up from the bench, and stretched.
"Let’s go, Phil, let’s head back. I’ll be leaving tomorrow; you’ll need to be careful alone here."
"I will."
Phil nodded earnestly.
