The Evil God Summoned by the Saintess
Chapter 628 - 626: Borrowing Benovia Again
Previously, in Mountain Forest City.
Upon hearing the news of Hilia’s attack, Benovia located Phil and informed Phil of the situation, warning Phil that her defenses were not as strong as Hilia’s. If she were to be attacked, she might die on the spot.
However, Phil looked at the many untreated, eager patients waiting for her help—humans, elves, and even people who had traveled from nearby cities just to see her.
Especially those patients who came from far away, they had come through significant hardship to reach this place, and Phil found it difficult to leave these people behind.
Helpless, Benovia had to await the divine guidance from Rose while contacting the Holy Court and Ista to see if she could bring over any high-tier mages.
Before the Holy Court could send anyone, good news came from Hilia far on the western coast—she had recovered and was ready to continue.
Benovia naturally received this news and quickly contacted Phil for a ’secret meeting.’
"The problem on Hilia’s side is resolved, Phil."
Benovia sent the intelligence materials to Phil.
Phil reviewed it carefully, nodded, and said happily, "That’s great, Hilia is fine; the Gods are protecting her, letting her safely pass the danger."
Benovia raised an eyebrow and asked suggestively, "And you, are the Gods protecting you?"
"Me?"
Phil’s expression flashed with a hint of panic, and her gaze wandered, "Of course, the Gods certainly also protect me."
"Oh~" Benovia said meaningfully, "I will stay here for at most one more day and leave tomorrow. At that time, Phil, you will have to rely on yourself."
Phil replied, "I am now disguised, not using the Holy Daughter’s identity like Hilia, don’t worry, I won’t be discovered by others."
"Is that so?" Benovia remained noncommittal.
She didn’t know about others, but upon arriving, she recognized Phil at first glance.
Even though Phil’s disguise turned her into another person, her habits beyond appearance hadn’t changed, even her voice, height, hair color, and style of magic puppet hadn’t changed.
In other words, she just changed her face...
Comparatively, Benovia felt Hilia’s disguise was truly a disguise, changing not only her face but also her height, magic puppet, and so forth.
"There is one more thing; the Elf Royal Court has issued pollution control regulations, publicly revealing the array to isolate pollution and treatment methods. Although complete isolation from enactment might take some time, before then, Phil, it’s best you end the healing operation and return to Ista."
Phil nodded, "Mm-hmm, understood."
You understand nothing.
Benovia thought critically.
You’re showing all over your face that you don’t want to go back.
Benovia sighed inwardly.
Sigh, not wanting to go back, but things will overflow there if not returned soon.
The girl murmured in her heart.
These days here, she was quite comfortable, occasionally helping Phil with some tasks.
She couldn’t purify patients in batches like Phil and Hilia, so she occasionally lent a hand to rescue those who came from elsewhere and might not be quickly attended to.
Meanwhile, she was waiting for Hilia’s next instructions.
Unfortunately, besides an ’remain in place’ order, she hadn’t received any directives.
If there were no further instructions from the Gods, she planned to return tomorrow, and then come back after new directives from the Gods arrived.
As a Tier Four Mage, coupled with her custom flying Magic Guide Device, the distance from here to the border wasn’t too far, just one or two hours round trip.
After chatting with Phil, Benovia bid farewell and left.
Watching Phil go away, Benovia contemplated, "The forest library and inn in the west of the city are on the way, let’s see if there are any interesting books."
Thus, she headed to the library in the west of the city, purchased some books to take back, and then returned to her inn in the east of the city, to immerse herself in her reading.
Just as she was absorbed in the ocean of books, news came from the distant Rose, instructing her to summon the magic puppet.
Benovia’s eyes lit up.
"Again like in Letes City, using my magic puppet to handle things?"
Curious, Benovia summoned the magic puppet, eagerly watching it.
Benovia’s magic puppet, like Hilia’s, was also custom-made for the league, which she replaced after reaching Tier Four.
This time, the Heart of the Magic Puppet used was from the sacred faction.
For Benovia, actually any Heart of the Magic Puppet would do, since she didn’t learn magic from just one faction.
And since the magic puppet could only learn from one faction, many times she had to cast spells herself, applying them to the magic puppet, borrowing the puppet’s amplification to increase the magic’s intensity.
Watching the magic puppet, Benovia sensed it starting to move on its own, just like in Letes City before, without saying a word to her, leaving the inn quietly.
When Benovia attempted to observe, she already sensed the magic puppet using space-type magic to swiftly distance itself.
Seeing this, she shared her senses with the magic puppet, intending to see what Rose was doing with her puppet.
However, before she could clearly see where the magic puppet was, her vision went dark, and she was cut off from the shared senses.
Benovia opened her eyes, her expression resentful.
"What! They won’t let me see, Gods, you don’t trust me too much."
After sensing the magic puppet’s location and comparing it with the map, Benovia had a guess in her mind.
"The location seems to be near the plaza where Phil is treating, so... undoubtedly the Gods intend to use my magic puppet to contact Phil. Although it’s not a strange thing, why do I feel somewhat displeased?"
Benovia pondered.
After a while, she shook her head, feeling that she had generated some rebellious thoughts, causing this odd emotion.
"I don’t know when Phil was targeted by the Gods, probably after me?"
Benovia flipped through the book but couldn’t concentrate, constantly curious about what Rose was using her magic puppet for at that moment.
She could feel her magic power gradually draining through the magic puppet.
Although the speed of drain wasn’t fast, even after three days and nights, it wouldn’t deplete completely, showing Rose was indeed occupied.
Benovia’s curiosity was intense; finding herself unable to focus on reading after all, she closed the book and attempted once more to share senses with the magic puppet.
Failed.
She steeled herself.
"No, I must go take a look, even if it displeases the Gods, I must see it for myself. After all, the Gods didn’t directly tell me not to go."
Benovia wondered if her idea had somehow been communicated to Rose.
But upon sensing, she found no direction from Rose, prompting her to step outside and quickly head towards the direction from which she sensed her magic puppet.
