Chapter 2287: Cain vs True Depravita of Fear
Chapter 2287: Cain vs True Depravita of Fear
"You have grown."
Zarazel’s eyes shone with a sharp, penetrating light as he uttered those words, and the Scarlet King responded with a small, composed smile as he acknowledged the True Depravita’s words.
The first time Cain had interacted with the True Depravita of Fear, he had been filled with awe and reverence toward the Alpha–Omega Overgod standing before him.
Zarazel’s presence alone had once felt overwhelming, a towering force that represented everything Cain aspired to surpass. Yet now, less than fifty years later, that sense of intimidation was gone. The power radiating from the True Depravita was no longer unfathomable in Cain’s eyes.
Such evolution in mentality made sense. After all, he had faced entities far stronger than Zarazel and survived battles that should have erased his existence. He even faced a world-sized tumor full of immortal Alpha-Omega Overgods and made the entire place tremble.
Still, Zarazel was the Demon King’s representative in the Second Realm, and Cain did not allow pride to cloud his judgment. He clasped his fists together and gave a respectful nod before meeting Zarazel’s gaze once more, a meaningful light flickering in his eyes.
"I can see that the situation in the Second Realm has become dire," Cain said calmly. "But I believe I have the answer."
A faint frown appeared on Zarazel’s face. For years, he had struggled against the encroaching dominance of the Freedom Path, clashing with Urin again and again, only to be pushed back each time. Now Cain had returned after years of silence and claimed to possess a solution—one Zarazel himself had failed to find.
Altoguth Cain did not mean any offense; it was easy to interpret those words as a challenge to his competence.
Thanks to the Flow and the Power of Chaos, Cain could clearly sense the emotions stirring within the True Depravita: irritation, skepticism, and wounded pride. Still, he did not rush to explain himself.
If Zarazel’s ego were fragile enough to take offense and act rashly, then the man would not be of use as a partner in his plan, and further discussion would be pointless.
Fortunately, the Demon King did not elevate incompetence into the ranks of the True Depravitas.
Zarazel took a slow, steady breath, forcing his emotions under control before fixing his gaze on Cain once more.
"And what would that answer be?" he asked.
Cain’s smile deepened, though his eyes remained cold and focused.
"It is simple," he said. "I will give Urin a true death."
The words fell like a thunderclap.
The being Cain intended to seal within his Fourth Astral Black Hole was not an Archdeity, nor even a lesser Overgod. It was Urin—the Alpha–Omega Overgod Neo-Angel who currently ruled more than three-quarters of the Second Realm with absolute authority.
Meylin, who had remained silent throughout the exchange, felt her breath catch. She had never doubted Cain’s ability to shift the balance of the war in the Second Realm, as he was very powerful and cunning, but even she could not fully conceal her shock.
Destroying Urin’s body and soul was already an extraordinary feat. Still, given that Cain already did it with Braldy, he might be capable of it; after all, he was much stronger now. But a true death meant annihilating the True Name itself—an act infinitely more difficult, bordering on the impossible.
Zarazel’s reaction was no less severe. Shock flashed through his eyes, followed quickly by skepticism. He had clashed with Urin countless times, and even forcing her retreat had required immense effort. Ending her existence entirely was something he had never dared to imagine as a realistic outcome.
Yet instead of rejecting the idea outright, Zarazel studied Cain carefully.
"Then why haven’t you done it already?" he asked.
It was a fair question.
Cain nodded once, acknowledging the point. "Whenever Urin moves, she brings the full might of the Freedom Path with her. While I can handle her directly, I cannot afford distractions. I need the Life Path’s forces fully mobilized—to contain her armies, prevent interference, and block her escape should she attempt to flee."
Cain knew the thin line between confidence and arrogance. Underestimating Urin would be fatal, and would not only put the Crimson World at risk, but also the Nine Empyrean Suns Universe. After all, the purpose of his current journey was to grow stronger so he can defeat The Root.
Zarazel fell silent.
If Cain succeeded in killing Urin, the situation in the Second Realm would be reversed overnight. Without an Alpha–Omega Overgod to command and shield the Freedom Path’s forces, Zarazel could reclaim lost territory with overwhelming force. The balance of power would shatter in favor of the Life Path.
But the risk was immense.
At present, the Freedom Path held superior strength. To support Cain’s plan, the Life Path would need to commit everything—burning life force, depleting reserves, and risking catastrophic losses. If Cain failed to kill Urin, the consequences would be devastating. Their remaining territory would collapse, and the Second Realm would fall entirely under the Freedom Path’s dominion, sending shockwaves throughout the Crimson World.
On one side lay the possibility of unprecedented victory.
On the other, utter ruin.
Zarazel weighed the decision carefully. In the end, the determining factor was clear: Cain himself.
With a wave of the True Depravita’s hand, the power of the Heart of Sin gathered above them, condensing into a massive construct. Within seconds, it solidified into a sealed combat domain—a box the size of a small city.
"I want to see how strong you truly are," Zarazel said, his voice cold and resolute. "Only then will I decide."
Cain met his gaze without hesitation and nodded.
Victory or defeat would be determined by strength alone. If he wanted the full mobilization of the Life Path, he would have to earn it.
Without wasting a second, Cain stepped into the sealed domain. Zarazel followed immediately after him. As the barrier closed, the auras of both beings vanished from the outside world, leaving no indication of the battle about to unfold within.
