Chapter 331: 13 Mysterious Sources (2)
[All Things Respond to My Will!]
[…]
His Spiritual Power instantly twisted in a strange way before a piece of it split off and attached itself to the tag.
Han Su hung it on the doorknob outside his room and finally felt at ease.
This was an Encrypted Spell that severed a piece of one’s own Spiritual Power and attached it to an object.
The remnant Spiritual Power on the tag would influence others according to the caster’s will, making them subconsciously avoid disturbing the room.
The downside was that this severed portion of Spiritual Power would be lost forever.
The resulting effect’s intensity would also vary depending on the strength of the caster’s will and Spiritual Activity:
At the lowest Level, anyone passing by would subconsciously ignore the room. Even those who intended to visit would suddenly feel they had something else to do and change their minds.
At a higher level, it would have a supernatural influence. For instance, the front desk staff would subconsciously refrain from booking the room for anyone else.
At an even more potent level, even if staff saw the lights on, noted utility consumption, or even saw that room service had been called, they would subconsciously ignore it all when processing records later.
At the most powerful level, casting this ability could make everyone forget the room existed for a very long time.
Han Su couldn’t explain the principles behind it. It seemed many Zero Sequence Spells shared similar traits.
Anyone could use them, but no one could explain why they worked. The more you thought about it, the more unsettling it became.
Of course, with his current power, Han Su could only influence the front desk to keep them from booking out the room.
…
‘Wei Lan is currently a guest of the Queen’s Organization in Giant Horn City, gathering intelligence for me on the side.’
‘Lu Neng bought a plane ticket from Qinggang after getting Wei Lan’s message. He should be landing in about an hour. As for that hot-tempered guy, Wei Lan only saw his name on a list of Mercenaries involved in some classified operation, but she doesn’t know when.’
‘But those Mercenaries have access to special airfields. They can take off and land whenever they want, and even use some kind of secret channels. He might get here even faster than Lu Neng.’
Han Su took a drink of water, silently reviewing the situation. He sent his room number to Wei Lan, then turned to look at the Little Lamb Girl.
He saw her standing with her back against the wall, silent and still, her small hands hanging at her sides. She only looked up when he took a drink.
He grabbed a bottle of water and handed it to her. She immediately clutched it with both hands, chugged a few large gulps, and wiped her mouth.
It was only in moments like this that she seemed almost human.
“So, what exactly was that ability you just used?”
Han Su asked in a low voice, watching quietly as she finished the water and once again stood motionless against the wall.
At first, he had only seen the Little Lamb Girl as a bargaining chip for his negotiations with Giant Horn City and Skinning Manor, or perhaps to stir up some trouble. Even her ability to summon that forest had only surprised him; it hadn’t warranted this level of concern.
But the fact that the Little Lamb Girl had an aura so similar to Lady Meat Horn’s had truly piqued his curiosity.
The Little Lamb Girl tilted her head slightly. Her expression was wooden, and her eyes held no trace of life.
“Or rather…”
Han Su thought for a moment, then held out his hand to her. “Use that ability of yours,” he said in a low voice. “Try to contaminate me.”
The Little Lamb Girl froze. Once she was certain Han Su wasn’t joking, she hesitantly reached out with her small hands and clasped his. Her eyes widened as she looked to him for one last confirmation before she softly opened her mouth and recited a Spell.
Instantly, Han Su felt an unusual power invade his Spirit World.
His Divine Material was altered in a near instant.
The Little Lamb Girl’s Spiritual Level wasn’t high. And while her Spiritual Activity was decent, it was still lower than Han Su’s. The contaminating power, however, was incredibly potent.
Luckily, Han Su’s other hand had been resting on his briefcase the entire time. The influence reached the Emperor’s Book inside almost instantly. RUSTLE RUSTLE RUSTLE! The sound of flipping pages echoed.
Han Su felt the power invading his Spirit World being devoured. The next moment, he snatched his hand back. His sudden movement startled the Little Lamb Girl, and she scrambled back a few steps to squat in the corner.
“It’s okay!”
Han Su glanced at her, offering a quick reassurance. He then opened the briefcase, took out the Emperor’s Book, and flipped it open.
It was different now. Before, the Emperor’s Book had displayed information about the Black Goat.
This time, however, it displayed:
[Fertile]
[Mysterious Source No. 02 of the Thirteen—Fertile]
[Nature: A generative soil containing the potential to reshape reality. It has buried countless bizarre species and even civilizations throughout history, devouring innumerable strange materials in the process and gaining the ability to gestate all things bizarre.]
[The Fertile Forest is a manifestation of the overflowing power of the Fertile Land and possesses the ability to reshape reality. The Fertile Forest exists in the space between the real and the illusory. Some call it a Divine Realm.]
[The Black Goat was once called the Lord of the Fertile Forest, said to possess the ability to Master Fertile. However, based on a comprehensive analysis of texts, ruins, and the interrogation of a Black Goat under torture, we believe it is more likely that the Black Goat simply lived in the Fertile Forest. By doing so, it became suffused with Fertile’s aura and gained the ability to influence plant growth. However, the possibility that certain special Black Goats can summon the Fertile Forest into reality cannot be ruled out.]
