Chapter 332: 13 Mysterious Sources (3)

“Hm?”

Han Su saw the words “extracted through torture” and thought he had misread them.

He looked again, and they were definitely there.

It seemed the knowledge within the Emperor’s Book didn’t just appear out of nowhere, but rather had its own origins.

Perhaps it even came with the disapproval of some of the original parties?

But he didn’t really care about that. Seeing the description of the thirteen mysterious sources, his thoughts inevitably drifted to Lady Meat Horn on the second floor of the Ancient Castle. Everything matched up—the correspondence between the number and the floor, as well as the Little Lamb Girl’s aura.

‘It seems my guess was correct…’

“However, if there are thirteen mysterious sources…”

Lost in thought, he placed his hand on the Crystal Skull Ms. Shen had given him.

His Spiritual Power seeped into it, and he quickly found the information he was looking for.

Ms. Shen’s memories also contained records of Supernatural Anomaly Powers. For example, the twelve altars she had built corresponded to: Fertile, Super Body, Pale, Copper, Crimson, Ghost Energy, Dimensional Worm, Dark State, Knowledge Beast, Horror Species, Meat Collection, and Ai.

In other words, both the Seven Days of Divine Descent and the corresponding Ancient Castle were, in fact, related to these anomaly powers.

Even in the Emperor’s Book, these powers were referred to as the thirteen mysterious sources.

But why was it that in Ms. Shen and the others’ understanding, there were a total of twelve such anomaly powers, and also twelve altars?

Yet the Emperor’s Book claimed there were thirteen?

As Han Su mulled over this question, a thought struck him: ‘Could this be the real reason the Divine Descent Plan failed?’

‘My poor mother… she even got the number wrong…’

He couldn’t be sure about the issue for the time being, but based on the anomaly power emanating from the Little Lamb Girl, he was certain of one thing: Giant Horn City and Skinning Manor were not as simple as they seemed.

Why would the power of Fertile appear in such a remote little city?

After all, Qinggang had four Independent Investigators who were tainted by Crimson, and the city instantly became a level stronger than the others.

So, if Giant Horn City possessed the power of Fertile, what would that imply?

“This power of yours, were you born with it, or did you obtain it from somewhere?”

As he thought further, a somewhat ambitious idea suddenly occurred to Han Su. He looked the Little Lamb Girl in the eye and asked in a low voice.

This time, the Little Lamb Girl seemed to understand. She looked up and replied, “Baa~~”

Han Su froze for a moment. ‘I don’t understand this language…’

The Little Lamb Girl, however, got up and slowly turned in a circle. Her movements seemed stiff, but it was as if she were earnestly sensing something.

Then, she slowly walked to the window and pointed in a certain direction across the sea of city lights.

“Is it over there?”

Han Su also got up and went to her side. Looking out, he couldn’t see anything specific, but he softly chanted a Spell and pressed his hand into the shadows, using the city’s darkness to peer toward that location.

He soon sensed that in that direction, a large patch of shadow was different from the rest. It possessed an extremely high density of Spiritual Power, like ice in a lake.

‘Is her power source related to that place?’

He glanced down at the Little Lamb Girl and saw that she too was staring intently in that direction, seemingly eager to go there.

But Han Su could only shake his head slightly. It wasn’t just her; he wanted to go there too.

However, judging by that strange spiritual density, that place was either the Disaster Management Bureau or the headquarters of a Hidden School.

He wasn’t confident he could break in and get out unscathed right now.

Seeing Han Su shake his head, the Little Lamb Girl looked somewhat disappointed and lowered her head in silence. Han Su was in no mood to comfort her. He lay down on the bed, planning to wait for Lu Neng and Wei Lan to arrive before discussing their next move.

But just then, he suddenly heard a BOOM! and the entire city seemed to lurch violently.

It wasn’t an earthquake, but an omnidirectional jolt.

It was like being in the ocean, and the entire sea had suddenly lurched.

Han Su shot up and looked west, the direction from which he and the Little Lamb Girl had just snuck into the city.

Although he couldn’t see a thing, he could vaguely sense through his Spiritual Power that some colossal entity was viciously ramming into the city. The force was so immense that it immediately triggered the defensive line of reality to retaliate.

The next moment, the city abruptly burst into activity. Countless sirens blared, and armored vehicles deployed one after another.

Han Su went to the window to look. He could even faintly see countless people carrying briefcases, rushing in that direction.

Not only that, but even the flow of the entire city’s Spiritual Power became perceptible. A portion of the power from that area he couldn’t see clearly before was now being drawn away, causing it to faintly materialize before his eyes…

“Huh?”

Han Su was pleasantly surprised. He abruptly turned to look at the Little Lamb Girl.

“…”

“…”

“I don’t give a damn about any of that…”

「Ten minutes earlier, on a barren mountain outside the city.」

Count Albarrez roared in fury, “You people of Giant Horn City have some nerve!”

“When I was enfeoffed as a Count at the age of seventeen, I received the Knight’s Blessing. I have lived to be seventy-nine, and it’s not as if I haven’t met rivals and enemies, but no one has ever truly dared to try and take my life. I have never once had to use my Knight’s Blessing.”

“But I never expected this. Giant Horn City is really something else. For just one Black Goat, you decided to silence me…”
