They could vaguely make out some shadows, but it was impossible to use hand signals or eye contact to send any kind of message.

So Akbar just waved her hand. Behind a row of buildings about two hundred meters to their left, three agile figures immediately vaulted over a wall. They cradled firearms, using the village’s uneven terrain to rapidly approach the black house.

These were the three heavy-firepower Mercenaries who had stormed the village and carried out the massacre.

The Queen Bee’s pheromones created a surreal network that transcended distance, linking Akbar, the three heavy-firepower members, the two snipers on the hillside, and the intelligence officer, Lalei, who was contacting their employer outside the village.

Shared vision, shared information, instant communication—they operated with the efficiency of a single entity.

But no one expected what happened next. The three members charged out, their years of military operations and information sharing allowing them to close in on the black house with incredible speed. Yet before they could even sneak up to it, a putrid stench filled their nostrils.

The black fog was thinner here, allowing them to vaguely make out blurry shapes.

In their shared vision, the three members were approaching smoothly when they suddenly seemed to sense something. All at once, they leaped high into the air, hastily scattering in different directions to escape.

Immediately after, rotten arms shot up from the ground. Then, from within the black fog billowing from the black house, a host of shadowy figures suddenly leaped out, baring fangs and claws.

They scrambled to escape toward the village outskirts, only for the putrid stench to waft up unexpectedly from behind them.

Whirling around, they saw a wall of cold, sinister eyes glowing within the black fog.

“This is bad…”

Even Captain Akbar reacted instantly, crying out, “It’s Blood Servants!”

“Skinning Manor actually hired a Blood Ghost?”

“…”

The thought that she was about to face a Blood Ghost—one of the five great noble families of the Western Continent—sent a chill down her spine.

They had just conducted a clearing operation on this village of Black Goat worshipers. The mission had gone smoothly, and without suffering a single casualty, they had killed seventy to eighty percent of the villagers.

But now, it seemed it was all for nothing!

Blood Ghosts possessed the ability to reanimate the dead. In fact, to them, the dead were even more useful than the living.

They had just slaughtered their way into the village, leaving no survivors in their wake, but in reality, they had only built a cage for themselves.

All those they had killed had been reanimated, and had in turn surrounded them in the center of the village. Only Lalei and the two snipers on the hill had avoided the encirclement, but considering the Blood Ghost’s uncanny speed and elusive nature, they too could be killed at any moment.

“Mission canceled! We need to escape, now!”

Akbar made the decision in an instant. But as her mind raced, she suddenly turned to Han Su and said in a low voice,

“Butcher, it’s time for your team assessment!”

“So these are the legendary Vampires?”

Han Su had been watching with great interest. Hearing Akbar’s sudden decision, he was taken aback. “Me?”

“Yes!”

Akbar said grimly, “The Blood Ghost can reanimate the dead, which makes this extremely tricky. These things are corrupted by the Blood Ghost. They have some regenerative abilities and are agile, but a single one isn’t hard to deal with. A shot to a vital spot will kill them.”

“The key problem is that when their numbers grow, they become a legion of Blood Servants, and that’s when things get ugly…”

“However, these Blood Servants also inherited the Blood Ghost’s weakness: they fear sunlight.”

“In fact, that’s why in mercenary circles, when ranking the most difficult horde-type threats, the Blood Ghost’s Blood Servants are ranked below the zombie virus and the wolf-toxin virus. The moment they’re exposed to sunlight, they turn to dust.”

“It’s daytime right now, so theoretically, these things shouldn’t even be able to fight us. But the Vampires must have teamed up with the Black Goat. They’ve used the Black Goat’s fog to block out the sun, which is how they managed to surround us so quickly.”

“I need you to charge in and throw them into chaos. Once the black fog disperses, this horde of Blood Servants will collapse on its own, and I will make an exception and allow you to join Queen Bee…”

“…”

‘This is fucking bullshit!’

Han Su thought to himself, ‘Does this woman have a habit of talking too much when she lies? She seems a little nervous, too…’

Outwardly, however, he gave a slight nod and said, “Alright.”

As he spoke, he stood up and looked toward the black house. Behind him, Akbar whispered, “I’ll give you a shot of stimulant, don’t worry. It will just give you heightened senses so you won’t be disoriented by the black fog. You…”

Before she could finish, Han Su suddenly took a step. Carrying his case, his figure shot forward like a bolt of lightning.

Behind him, a cold glint flashed in Akbar’s eyes as a needle morphed into a stinger, which she thrust hurriedly at Han Su.

But before it could touch Han Su, she saw that he had already charged away.

She was stunned on the spot. “Ah…”

“I didn’t even get to give you the shot…”

“…”

If her pheromones had been injected into Han Su’s body, she would have been able to see everything he saw and encountered. But she hadn’t managed to inject him. Han Su charged forward, his figure quickly swallowed by the thick black fog, leaving only a faint shadow rushing ahead.

She could only sense a burst of chaos up ahead, completely unaware of what was happening.

And for Han Su, this was the first time in this life he had really gotten to stretch his muscles, a black briefcase still in his hand.
