The dragon's harem
Chapter 2283: Clash of Space Monsters
Both Arad and Vorvadoss were masters of Space Magic, and what’s more, they both could use the same eldritch space magic. The same overpowered mystical power that controlled the very threats of space themselves. It bent in their hands like silk to a spider’s limbs.
Speed didn’t matter, and neither did time. Those two could be anywhere and everywhere at the same time, and even hop through massive distances before time could even catch up.
Everyone watched for a second as Vorvadoss teleported back and suddenly spawned a whole mountain above Arad’s head, only for Arad to teleport that mountain directly into Vorvadoss’s torso. Vorvadoss’s torn body then reformed behind Arad, and the whole world froze for a second as if lagging, only for the entire region to be completely obliterated without anyone else understanding what kind of attack caused that.
Arad and Vorvadoss were already clashing on the horizon, and one of the archons growled. "Is that... an adult void dragon? What is he doing fighting that monster?" She belonged to one of the gods, and immediately flew toward Arad and Vorvadoss as fast as she could.
Her orders were clear: she had to protect all the void dragons with her life. Besides, she was an archon, so as long as she wasn’t facing an Avatar, she should be able to at least distract a powerful abomination long enough for a void dragon to escape.
But the moment she got within range of Arad and Vorvadoss, she knew that she had fucked up. Vorvadoss was already at her face with his maw open, about to bite her face off.
But before Vorvadoss could bite her face off, Arad flew in with a flying kick right into the abomination’s throat, shattering Vorvadoss’s skull and sending him flying back with a loud shockwave.
"Soldier! Back to your post!" The archon shouted, and before she could even finish speaking, Vorvadoss’s shattered pieces had regenerated, but not into a single body, but into tens of identical clones that surrounded the archon and Arad.
In the next second, she was on the ground, not knowing what had happened. Her clothes were torn, her legs were broken and crushed, some of her wings were ripped off, and her entire body was riddled with wounds.
"What..." As she gasped, she could see Vorvadoss’s face beside her. She cried, but quickly noticed. He was dead, at least for now. The clones were all severed cleanly in half and arranged in two rows, the torsos on one side and the tentacles on the other, like bowing maids.
"LEAVE." Arad growled from the shadows, and she rapidly turned toward him, saw his angry face glaring at her, and immediately flew away with what little bit of energy she had left. That wasn’t a request, a question, or an order. Told her what she was going to do, and there was no way around.
Behind her, she could hear the alien coming back to life, and before long, a violent clash raged behind her back, but she didn’t have the courage to look. Whatever horrors those two were, they weren’t things she could deal with.
When she finally crashed right between the other angels, Merlin, who was there, gave her a quick look, then stared back at the clash. All she could see was contorted space, looking like a black hole, with the verdant green light of Vorvadoss spinning around it.
In the next second, both the black hole and Vorvadoss’s light have already disappeared, and a titanic impulsion erupted inward as the space the two erased got filled.
Arad wasn’t just fighting Vorvadoss; he was also trying to dismantle his space magic even further to find a way to fully kill this abhorrent monster. Just from watching, Merlin could already conclude a few things.
Arad is slower, weaker, and less efficient with eldritch space magic than Vorvadoss. But the threads of space belong to the universe, and the universe is willingly letting Arad twist them while actively resisting Vorvadoss’s magic, giving Arad an advantage.
At this rate, Arad might actually lose. She needed to think of a way to support him without getting in the way. She could go all out, but that would probably only get her killed. She is far too immature with her eldritch powers to be joining such a fight.
But then, the change finally started showing up. Azrael crashed right where Arad and Vorvadoss were fighting, causing their clash to halt as Nyar’s avatar descended on the battlefield.
Arad landed beside Azrael, and Nyar’s avatar was beside Vorvadoss. "Run..." Azrael growled, but Arad didn’t reply, keeping his full attention focused on Vorvadoss and the Avatar.
"It’s been a while, Arad Orion." The Avatar spoke, and then waved his hand in front of Vorvadoss. "I hope my child here wasn’t giving you a hard time. He’s really been itching to beat you up for the last time."
Arad reached down with his hand, put it on Azrael’s chest, and absorbed her into his stomach in the blink of an eye. He then slowly stood up, and Azrael’s scythe appeared in his hand.
At this moment, Arad didn’t even need to talk; all he cared about was getting rid of Vorvadoss first, and the Avatar after it. The scythe in his hand burned with dark divine magic, flowing directly from Azrael, who was inside him, and he merged it with Death’s divine magic. Since both of them were inside his stomach, he didn’t even need to ask them to lend him his power.
As he stood, the scythe became darker and darker, until it transformed and got even bigger in size, burning with enough power that Vorvadoss stopped smiling.
In the next fraction of a second, Arad had already cut Vorvadoss in half, and was already swinging the scythe at the Avatar’s head. "This power..." The Avatar blocked the scythe with his tentacles by hitting the shaft, and some of this tentacles reached over and healed Vorvadoss.
"Don’t get cut with the blade. It’s reeking of the END. It’s not a one-hit kill, but a one-hit end-it-all." He jumped back, pulled Vorvadoss toward him, and turned him into a large halberd.
"Let’s see... how well can you fight now." As the Avatar pointed the scythe toward Arad, both of them started reeking of eldritch magic. Arad’s humanoid body was already engulfed in darkness, and so was Nyar’s body.

Back in the sky, Amaterasu looked down at Arad and the Avatar about to clash, and then shifted her attention to Gojo, who was already fending off two Avatars not that far away. She could notice things that no one else could, like how Arad and Gojo were already planning together, and how Gojo already had a plan going on with Yog.
She can jump in and help them, but that might break their balance, so she decided to sit still and watch, all while making sure no other avatars sneak in, keeping the rest of Arad’s wives alive, and extending her divine magic to heal and empower all of the angels fighting.
