Chapter 2273: What Are They Planning?

That wasn’t good; it wasn’t good at all. Two Avatars and Vorvadoss on top isn’t something Eris can just deal with on her own, no matter how much power or support she has.

"If I clashed with an avatar, I’d die quickly, right?" Eris asked, and Sena nodded. "True. You’re strong; no one is denying that. But facing an Avatar requires more than just raw power; it requires specialized abilities that allow you to damage the avatar and counter it."

She put one foot on the other. "Would you believe me if I said Betty has a better chance against the avatar than you?"

Eris closed her eyes in silence for a second. "I believe it. If she can move faster than light, then she can deal with the avatar better than me. I’ll probably get taken down before I can even realize it due to the difference in speed."

As Sena leaned back in her chair, Selica emerged from behind her like a ghost with a tray of tea in her hand. She handed a cup of hot tea to Sena, set the tray down on a nearby table, and then started massaging Sena’s shoulders with a faint smile on her face.

Eris gave Selica a long look; the girl had changed a lot in the past months. Her build looked denser, her hair was cut short, and her eyes hid a deep green rumble of magic. She was clearly far stronger than before, and her power would only grow.

"Then, what should I do?" Eris asked, and Sena smiled. "Nothing, carry the plans as we prepared. Two Avatars and Vorvadoss, we also got Amaterasu, Yog, and Kayden here." She threw a look at the large black cocoon of shadows where Luminous was hiding. "She also can challenge an avatar."

Luminous laughed. "I can, but I’ll kill everyone here. Believe me, you don’t want to be anywhere near me when I’m going all out."

Linda nodded. "She is right. With how much light she can release, she’ll cook everyone in less than a fraction of a second." She then looked at Eris. "But I can fight as well. As powerful as they are, I doubt they’ll find it easy to deal with my time." She looked up. "And... I want to get back at him for the last time."

Sena leaned forward, and Selica immediately rushed around and prepared a table for her. "Here is the plan. We let the abominations attack first, and then we use that opportunity to locate the two avatars and Vorvadoss and tag them."

"Tag them?" Eris leaned forward, and Zia rushed to prepare a small table for her as well. To get one over Selica, she even prepared drinks and sweets, and a bottle of fresh blood.

"Yes, we register the signal of their eldritch magic and use it to track them across the battlefield. It’s a common tactic both the gods and abominations use." She pointed at Eris and tagged her, then showed Eris how the magic would look, which was amazing.

When Linda saw it, she was amazed as well. That magic allowed her to instinctively know where Eris was relative to her. Luminous had already seen the magic before, and Hecate, who was there, gulped, knowing that she was now stuck in a deadly war.

"I... can’t fight..." She lifted her hands, and everyone looked at her. That was true; Hecate here was just a lesser goddess with a handful of angels, and her only saving grace was her divine portfolio that allowed her to somewhat guess the future.

At that moment, Merlin walked into the tent and looked at them. "It’s a great day, isn’t it?" She flicked her fingers and summoned a nice chair for herself. As she sat down, she rested her feet on Eris’s table and stretched. "This place is quite amazing. It has a lot of mana, and I can use my eldritch powers with ease." ℯℯ𝑙.

"Not really..." Sena looked at her. "You’ll trigger the angels if you just let it out. But I can understand." Sena also rested her feet on her table and stretched, letting a wave of her eldritch magic seep out.

While Merlin’s Eldritch magic was more attuned to spells, Sena’s Eldritch magic was scary, felt slimy, and horrifying. While almost everyone was fine, Hecate was already sweating when she felt their Eldritch magic.

"That is... scary..." She mumbled with a faint smile, and Sena extended a large black tentacle from her hand toward Hecate’s face, and the goddess’s gulped. "How about it? Want me to help you get a bit stronger?"

As Hecate saw the massive tentacle, she was already tearing up. "Please don’t..." She knew that Sena was a master Zeomancer and could twist her flesh as she wanted, turning her into a monstrosity.

Selica blushed in the back. "You can make me stronger..."

Sena looked back at her. "I’m doing that daily. I just wanted to test my skills on a divine body." She is now working on a body for Doma and Aisha, so the more test subjects she has, the better.

Sena pulled her tentacle back and smiled. "Hecate, the reason Amaterasu called you into this battle is to get your angels used to fighting, just like Eris. She sees a lot of potential in you, so you better do your best."

She looked at her. "You came here to ask Eris to call Arad. That was the best use of your ability, and Yog noticed that as well. You are right; the best-case scenario for this battle is to have Arad present."

Hecate finally looked serious for a second. "Then... why aren’t we calling him? I know that he isn’t in good shape..."

"The best-case scenario for this battle doesn’t mean it’s the best-case scenario for the entire war." Eris looked at her. "I won’t tell you again, but bringing Arad here can jeopardize many things."

"In short..." Luminous sighed, "We’re willing to sacrifice many souls just to make sure he doesn’t get taken down or injured. Arad is like a trump card, one of our strongest soldiers."

Outside Eris’s tent, far in the sky, there was one massive white cloud with a tent on it. Inside that cloud, Amaterasu lay on a soft bed with Yog and several angels, discussing the coming plan.

"Those avatars aren’t here after the teleportation platform." Reading the papers, Amaterasu noticed something strange. "Look, why would they send the abominations down from here? It would’ve been easier to just send them from the other side, and then get Vorvadoss to teleport in with an Avatar and nuke the platform."

Yog looked at the report. "Yeah... I know everything about the universe, but not Nyar, as he isn’t from it..." She pointed. "Could they be afraid of Arad showing up? That’s why they are avoiding Eris’s side of the camp?"

As the two thought about it for a while, one of the angels spoke. "Could it be that they are trying to bait Arad out instead of avoiding him?"
