Chapter 1753: A Battle Beyond Time

Chapter 1753: A Battle Beyond Time

With both time and space shattering, the universe’s crust quaked under the harrowing stress of the titanic battle taking place. Arad and Gojo lacked the necessary power to get rid of Nyar, and he refused to give up and leave.

Time and space stopped making sense as they crushed them to dust, and Arad quickly found himself thinking over four brains, each one of them in a different time and space, all flowing into madness faster than he could keep up with. One time, he would thrust his spear at Nyar, only to block his own attack when time shatters, and somehow, he ends up standing where Nyar was.

Gojo did his best to control the flow of time and space around them, but it was never easy. This battle was like five fish who could use water magic fighting among each other, and they started manipulating the very water they swam in. The water’s temperature would be the time, they heat up to accelerate time and shorten their lives, or cool it down.

From this fight, Arad and Gojo were already learning too much. For example, time and space didn’t work here the same way inside the universe, because nothing is bound by the strands of fate here. The triplets of fate only worked inside the universe, and so, time and causality worked in a weird way here.

If Arad from the future met Arad from the past, the most recent version would dominate, and they would merge into one, making it feel like he saw a vision from the future. It was similar to Haru’s power, and it was only then that Arad understood the nature of the relationship between Seers and the triplets of fate.

The triplets of fate are the ones who ensure the continuity of the universe. They are the ones that make sure the future cannot shatter the past, and enforce that 3 comes after 2, and 2 is always after one. Those triplets know the rules, and so, they can pick a few people and manage them through fate. The triplets of fate only allow Haru to see visions of the future that were curated to make sure they won’t break causality.

Gojo reached a similar conclusion to Arad, as the two of them were sharing all of their thoughts to keep up with Nyar. This helped him quickly deepen his understanding of time, modify his spells, and make better decisions against Nyar.

Nyar noticed the brother’s time control growing better, and he didn’t like it. Those two were geniuses, far outclassing everyone else. If this fight is to last long enough, one of them is bound to give birth to something crazy, and the last thing Nyar wants to deal with is the unknown.

Nyar quickly decided that he didn’t want to be a part of this anymore. All he was doing was making both Arad and Gojo stronger, and that ultimately worked against him. He had a very slim chance of actually killing any of them here, especially now that both Amaterasu and Yog are above. He can see those perverted horrors, and he wishes he could just blast them to ash.

Amaterasu and Yog were now camping above, bidding their time and waiting for the battle to end. If Nyar showed any sign of winning or trying to run away, they’ll swoop in and kill him. If he is to survive, he has to use Arad and Gojo as shields.

But using Arad and Gojo as shields was like asking someone to use bombs as shields. It just wasn’t possible. He even tried to listen to their thoughts and jeopardize their communication, only to hear gibberish. What sounded like a never-ending ringing and clicking sound could only translate to several lines and countless surging emotions.

^My Brother… Come join me.^ Followed by worry, excitement, anxiety, happiness, rage, curiosity, and even sadness.

While it was a completely alien form of communication to Nyar… to Arad and Gojo, it felt more natural than speaking with words. Each of them trusted the other to make good decisions in combat, and in the rare case they needed something specific, they would just send that feeling.

Gojo would be about to slow time, but then senses Arad’s fear, so he keeps it up. But then, he tried to attack Nyar, only to sense a bit of anger and back away to let Arad charge. But then, Arad, who charged in, would sense a hint of sadness, and create an opening for Gojo to jump in.

Arad slashed Nyar’s tentacles, and Gojo blocked the blood with a barrier. In the middle of the shockwave, Arad grabs Gojo by the arm and throws him at Nyar, only for Gojo to open a portal of space magic and allow Arad to teleport right behind Nyar.

Nyar would turn around to strike Arad, and find Gojo standing there instead, get blasted in the face with a rift of shattered time, then time would rewind just a fraction of a second to before Arad and Gojo switched places, and Nyar would end getting stabbed through the ass with the destruction spear, and Gojo would appear in front of Nyar to slash him with the Alpha sword.

Nyar’s body exploded into a swarm of tentacles to catch Gojo and Arad, but as expected, Arad grabbed Gojo and teleported him away with Vorvadoss’s space magic, getting left behind and torn apart. But since Arad had three other incarnations, the destroyed one regenerated in the blink of an eye and was back into battle the moment Gojo appeared out of the teleportation magic.

The morning star of damnation and the purple sun flew around Nyar and tied him in place, only to be followed by a sneak attack from another incarnation with the exploding nipple knife. Nyar tried to dodge, but the unassuming blade slashed through like a hot knife through butter, and Nyar’s head flew away from the shockwave.

Nyar only then realized a part of the knife’s true power. That wasn’t a normal weapon; in fact, it wasn’t made for fighting in the first place. Its true purpose was long since lost, and it had been repurposed for war. From that knife, he could sense a flood of sadness, rage, hatred for the very universe and its nature, and a still living will to eradicate something.

Whoever created the exploding nipple knife was devastated, heartbroken, and unfathomably furious at something natural and wanted it erased from the very existence of reality and fate.

“That’s an interesting knife you got there.”

Above, Amaterasu looked down from her cloud with Yog beside her. “That knife is really something, to be able to cut Nyar’s flesh like that.”

Yog crawled to the edge of the cloud and looked down. “Yeah, I remember the guy who made it. Poor fellow, poured all of his life into making it.”

Amaterasu looked at her with a grin. “Funny, I don’t know who he was.”

Yog smacked her on the head. “Of course you won’t. He sacrificed his entire existence to create and use that knife, and I made sure his goal was achieved. Even though it got me a few sharp glares from the fates.”

Yog looked at her. “It was a disease that robbed him of the people he loved the most, and so he used that knife to carve it away from reality and the fabric of fate itself.”
