He gave a slight nod and returned her salute. Vera quickly asked, "I haven’t seen the Chief Instructor all day. Did he not come in?"

"He just got here. Are you looking for him?" The instructor’s eyes immediately lit up with gossip. After all, on the first day of training, Sheldon Caldwell had made an example of her. For the next few days, he had paid extra attention to her and even deliberately given her a hard time.

He might have been an instructor during the military training, but in essence, he was just one of Sheldon Caldwell’s employees.

Sheldon Caldwell might have been unreliable in Vera Xavier’s eyes, but he was highly respected by his employees.

This respect was evident in many ways, including their concern for Sheldon Caldwell’s love life.

One look at the instructor’s eyes told Vera Xavier he was probably misunderstanding something. ’In my heart, Sheldon Caldwell is just a brother to me,’ she thought, ’and I can tell he doesn’t think of me that way, either.’

So she cleared her throat and said, "I feel like there’s a part of my Stretching Routine that isn’t quite perfected yet, so I wanted to ask the Chief Instructor for his help in refining it."

’On the surface, she and Sheldon Caldwell don’t really interact. If I’m going to look for him, I need an excuse. I can’t just tell the instructor, "I need to see Sheldon Caldwell, you go get him for me!"’

The Stretching Routine seemed to be the only excuse she could come up with at the moment to find Sheldon Caldwell.

When the instructor led Vera Xavier in, Sheldon Caldwell was discussing the details of the upcoming training with several other instructors. He planned to increase the intensity and difficulty starting tomorrow, and would also be adding a marksmanship course.

As soon as Vera Xavier entered, all the instructors’ eyes lit up. She was simply too recognizable, and most of them knew who she was.

The instructor who had brought Vera in announced loudly, "Reporting, Vice General Manager! Student Vera Xavier feels the Stretching Routine has room for improvement and came to ask for your help."
