The Broken Halo

Chapter 336: Hollow Sky Eye (3)

Chapter 336: 336: Hollow Sky Eye (3)

Engraving the broken black ring is the main reason why the Hollow Gaze technique was dangerous.

Layering the Hollow Gaze on the Sky Eye was not the last step.

Basically, engraving the Hollow Gaze on his eyes was him tracing the chaos runes and structures of the Hollow Gaze.

This was like getting a tattoo, but on the eyes.

Simon inhaled and exhaled deeply, and with his exceptional control over his mental energy, he sent a thin stream of his sea of consciousness at the combined manifestations.

With a determined and focused gaze, he began to slowly carve the chaos runes of the Hollow Gaze into his eyes.

The sensation was not light in the slightest.

It felt like he was using fire on his eyes.

They were burning, his entire head felt like it was about to split in two with every trace he did.

There was also immense pressure on his eyes, making it seem like it was about burst.

He was in a world of pain, but he made sure that he was calm and did not lose focus.

Despite the pain he was in, each line, each stroke, each chaos rune he drew must be precise and he must not stop at any point in time.

Once he stops, the broken black ring would crumble and everything would be ruined.

His eyes would also be no more, and he would become permanently blind.

It was times like this he realized that pain resistance and pain tolerance were very necessary skills for an individual.

If not for his high pain resistance, how would he be able to engrave the Hollow Gaze on his eyes with this kind of pain?

Another thing that was happening aside from the pain was his sea of consciousness.

One might think that he was using very little mental energy to engrave the Hollow Gaze, but that was not the case.

It requires a tremendous amount of mental energy, and one just had to look at the current size of Simon’s sea of consciousness to know just how much mental energy this process requires.

He was mentally exhausted, but he knew that he could not stop.

Out in the real world, his lashes were fluttering frequently and blood fell from the corners of his eyes, making it seem like he was crying tears of blood.

Despite all of these, Simon finished some minutes later, and the moment he finished, it was like the world came to a halt for a split second.

In his sea of consciousness, Simon fell to his knees and he was huffing and puffing due to the extreme mental exhaustion he was facing.

He looked up, and he saw the combined Hollow Gaze and Sky Eye.

Around his sky-blue vertical pupils was rotating broken black ring.

It looked more like asteroids orbiting round a planet, and the rocks were actually chaos runes.

It gave off a chilling and dangerous aura, and Simon released a sigh of relief when he saw this.

He had done it.

He had successfully combined both ocular techniques.

“I’ll call this ocular technique the Hollow Sky Eye.”

After saying this, he waved his hand, and the manifestation of the Hollow Sky Eye vanished.

He looked at the seven black stars hovering in his sea of consciousness, then he closed his eyes and vanished from his sea of consciousness.

In the real world, his eyes slowly opened and something which he did not expect happened.

Cracks appeared in his vision, and more cracks began to appear in his vision once again.

It was spreading, almost like he was seeing cracks spread across a mirror, and Simon was extremely baffled.

’Lilith never mentioned this.’

Crack

Crack

Crack

Simon frowned deeply as the cracks around his vision spread.

He had no idea if it was the world that was cracking or his eyes.

Either way, both did not sound good in the slightest.

’What in the world is-’

SHATTER!

Before he could finish his thoughts, reality shattered in front of him.

And he could not explain what he saw next.

It was like he had been transported into a different realm entirely, but he could not understand a single thing he saw.

Nothing made sense to his ears, eyes, nose, and brain.

Everything was just a chaotic mess of dark colours, weird sounds of screaming, creeping, and whispers, sweet tastes that reminded one of sex and blood.

Nothing made sense to him at all!

The only thing his heart and soul could understand could be summed up into a single word.

Evil.

His senses told him that he was in a place so vile, so sinister, so treacherous, that being here seemed like a sin itself.

No

He was not here.

He was only seeing it.

It was like he had shattered a veil that was placed over his eyes, and he was seeing something he should not be seeing.

His brain was so overloaded to the point that he couldn’t even make a coherent thought.

Then there was a change.

The outline of a large pair of eyes was slowly manifesting itself in front of Simon.

It felt close, yet at the same time, it felt impossibly far away from him.

As the outline of the eyes were about to fully form, a deep and ancient sigh drifted across the world like the wind.

“Boy. Again?”

If Simon could recall what had happened in his sea of consciousness in Instructor Aphon’s class, he would recognize this voice immediately.

Unfortunately for him, he could not recognize it and the voice was not even registered in his mind.

His mind was a chaotic mess.

Sigh

The voice sighed again, then like as if time was being reversed, pieces of the broken reality flew back and joined together.

From massive cracks on reality, it became only a single tiny crack which was slowly healing itself.

In the real world, Simon blinked, and when he saw the crack that was healing itself, he tilted his head slightly.

’Hmm? The crack is healing itself?’

Once again, he forgot everything he just saw.
