The Broken Halo

Chapter 257: Stormspawns

Chapter 257: 257: Stormspawns

Even if Simon knew of Akaza’s thoughts and fears of him becoming a errand boy, he would not have bothered himself in addressing Akaza’s thoughts and fears.

As he walked with a calm expression behind his mask, he reached the door to his room and was about to open it.

However, his left hand suddenly shot to his left, and in the blink of an eye, an arrow was in his grasp.

He indifferently looked to his left, and he saw a female demon wearing a dotted yellow mask like that of a leopard holding a bow.

Her eyes were filled with rage and pain as she stared at Simon, and her killing intent spilled over into the world, joining with the killing intent of his other classmates.

Simon indifferently broke the arrow in two, but in the next moment, his ears twitched once again as he heard the sound of the wind getting disturbed.

He took two quick steps to the side, dodging a kick that was viciously aimed for his head.

Before the owner of the legs could touch the ground, Simon grabbed him by the ankles while he was still in the air and said indifferently,

“If you break my door. You pay.”

Without even bothering to wait for a response, Simon nonchalantly threw the poor demon at the female archer.

His physical strength made it seem like he was flinging a piece of stone.

The demon flew and crashed into the female archer, their screams echoing in the surroundings of their dormitory.

“BROKEN HALO!!!!!”

A roar of immense anger cause the walls, doors, and ground to vibrate.

Simon raised a brow at this, and he turned, only to see a demon that was thrice his size and height charging toward him with immense hatred and fury in his eyes.

Due to his size, the demon was taking up all the space of the

The ground shook as this demon ran, and Simon’s eyes flashed with an unknown light.

He had the urge to use his physical strength to easily stop the demon’s charge, but that would exposing far too much of his physical capabilities.

There were powerful people currently watching him from the shadows after all.

He calmly placed his hand on the wall, his dark emerald-orange demonic energy flowed across his hand, then he pushed himself up and hung upside down with only one hand on the wall.

Step

His two legs were planted on the wall, and he stood on the wall with his two legs emitting a demonic light.

The giant demon had no choice but to come to a stop, but for a giant his size, coming to a stop at such full speed was easier said than done.

Simon watched with a cold and indifferent gaze as he looked at the giant demon that was struggling to come to a stop.

The female archer and his other classmate who wanted to kick his head off were scrambling to get up and run because the giant demon was literally coming their way.

And he showed no signs of coming to a complete stop before reaching them.

They were in full panic mode.

Simon’s ears twitched once again as he heard a rapid sound coming toward him, and this sound was familiar.

It was the sound of an individual running toward him.

’Somebody is running on the cliff wall?’

Simon raised a curious brow, then he turned his head to take a look.

But in the next moment, his instincts screamed at him, and he moved his head to the back.

Crackle

Whoosh!

A fist flew directly in front of his face, and Simon narrowed his eyes as he saw sparks of lightning fly toward his face.

If not for his mask, his face would have suffered some burns and injuries.

Simon did not need to look at the demon to know what sort of demon was attacking him. He was familiar with this sort of demon.

’A Stormspawn.’

Just as Simon had this thought, the demon’s hand moved as he swung it backward in an attempt to slap Simon’s skull out of his neck.

But Simon calmly took three quick steps to the back, dodging the first aiming for his head.

Without allowing the Stormspawn to continue his chain of attacks, Simon decided to increase the distance between him and the Stormspawn.

He jumped a few times, then he took a good look at the Stormspawn who was comfortably standing on the cliff wall just like Simon was.

Simon was intrigued by this, and he looked at the Stormspawn’s feet.

’Hmm… Not bad. But he’s expending far too much demonic energy for just something as simple as standing on a wall.’

Simon shook his head slightly when he noticed this.

The Stormspawn was not bad at controlling his demonic energy. In fact, he was better than average, but for Simon, he was still not good enough.

Sunless, Jorra, Merath, and even Thorgan were a lot better than him.

’He must have been taught how to climb walls before coming to the clan, because he’s not a natural talent when it comes to controlling his demonic energy. That’s why his body is emitting sparks of lightning whenever he coats it with his demonic energy.’

Simon then shifted his gaze from the Stormspawn’s feet to his entire body.

The Stormspawn was wearing the usual First Year Initiates academy robes, and he was wearing a black mask that had the symbol of a lightning striking down at its center.

Simon shifted his gaze from the Stormspawn’s mask back to his robes.

He saw the cuts on his robes, and how dirty and rough it was. It was evident that the Stormspawn had gotten into a fight with a member of the Iron Fangs.

’Hmm. It seems Geryan really did a number on him. Stormspawns are generally known to have a temper. I guess this one is no different.’

Simon released a soft sigh, then he spoke.

“Storm Reaper, rank four of our class. Why are you attacking me while radiating so much killing intent?”
