The Broken Halo

Chapter 258: The Birth Of A King?

Chapter 258: 258: The Birth Of A King?

“Storm Reaper, rank four of our class. Why are you attacking me while radiating so much killing intent?”

Storm Reaper was very surprised when Simon called his title and his exact rank in their class.

He had never interacted with Simon before, and he believed that Simon would not know his name since he was not one of the popular students of his class.

Unfortunately for him, everybody’s attention and eyes were only on Sunless, Jorra, Merath, and Simon.

Especially Simon.

Because of his rebellious, cold, and brutal actions and behaviour, nearly everybody’s attention was on him.

As for Storm Reaper, very few focused on him, and he didn’t expect Simon to be part of the very few.

But how could he know that Simon actually knew the titles, ranks, and appearances of everybody in his class.

He might not acknowledge them, and he might not bother to recall their details if they were useless in his eyes.

However, Simon knew every single one of his classmates.

“You know my title?” Storm Reaper asked with a slight frown behind his mask.

Simon smiled. “Why wouldn’t I? Because of Thorgan’s disappearance, you moved from rank five to rank four. Why wouldn’t I know the title of the fifth strongest Initiate in our class?”

Storm Reaper’s brow twitched. “Fifth?”

Simon nodded. “Yeah. After all, I am the strongest in our class. If Thorgan were here, you’d be the sixth strongest in our class.”

“Hmm.” Simon hummed softly while nodding his head. “Not bad if I must say.”

If Storm Reaper and every other person could see Simon’s face, they would see his demonic smile.

Meanwhile, Storm Reaper froze for a moment, and in the next second…

Bang!

He instantly appeared in front of Simon with his right leg raised and sparks of lightning flashing across his leg and foot.

“Die.” He growled.

Then he swung his foot down at Simon’s head.

Simon indifferently took three steps back, completely dodging the kick.

Bang!

However, Storm Reaper expected this and he continued his chain of attacks.

Demonic energy flowed across his legs and feet in the form of flashes of red lightning.

He planted his feet on the ground, then he spun and launched another roundhouse kick at Simon.

But Simon calmly took another two steps to the back, completely dodging the attack.

Storm Reaper growled in anger as he landed on the ground, he moved very quickly once again.

He sent a jab at Simon’s chest, but Simon indifferently moved his body to the side.

Another jab came at him the moment he dodged the first, but Simon was very quick.

He dodged it with ease.

Storm Reaper did not give up, and with a growl, he kept on throwing punches.

Jabs

Cross

Hooks

Uppercuts

Fakes

Storm Reaper threw every single thing at Simon, but Simon calmly dodged everything.

A step to the left.

A tilt of the head to the right.

A step to right

A tilt of the head to the left.

A step to the back.

Two steps to the back.

Simon dodged every single one of Storm Reaper’s attack with ease, causing Storm Reaper to be more and more furious.

Stormspawns generally were short tempered demons, and the angrier they became, the stronger the lightning their bodies and demonic energy emitted became.

As a result, the faster they became.

However, no matter how much faster Storm Reaper became, he could not touch the tip of Simon’s clothes.

He eventually transitioned from punches to kicks, mixing both of them together, but it was not enough.

Simon did not block, did not counter, and both of them had gone round the cliff wall of their dormitory.

Their fight had drawn the attention of all their classmates, some Shadow Blades, some other Initiates who were passing by, and those who were watching from the shadows.

Stones, sand, and pieces of the cliff wall fell as both of them fought while walking across the cliff wall.

But in the eyes of everybody, they all knew that Storm Reaper was at the losing end.

Simon had not attacked even once. In fact, he had not blocked or countered an attack even once, causing many to have solemn expressions.

His classmates asked themselves if they could do the same thing Simon was doing.

Storm Reaper’s speed was fast. He was already moving at the speed of a Prime Archfiend, but he still could not touch Simon.

Just how powerful was this slave of their class? They could not help but wonder.

“AAAAAAAAARRRGGGGHHHHHHHH!!!!”

“FIGHT ME YOU COWARD!!!!!”

Storm Reaper finally roared in fury, and his entire body flashed with red lightning.

Simon’s expression was still calm and indifferent seeing this, then his lips curled up behind his mask.

“I believe you should be more worried about yourself.”

Storm Reaper was baffled, not understanding what Simon meant by his words. But in the next moment, his expression drastically changed.

The red lightning across his body flickered out of existence, and his aura slowly receded.

He had run out of demonic energy, and that meant…

“Shit.”

He cursed, then he began to fall.

He no longer had any demonic energy to keep his feet rooted to the cliff wall.

“Damn it!!!”

Bang!

It didn’t take long for him to reach the ground since they were not so high up, but the height was still enough to cause him some level of pain and injuries.

None of the First Years assisted him or tried to break his fall. They all watched him fall with a complicated expression.

The demon who looked more imposing, radiated a more terrifying aura, and launched fast and powerful attacks that could trouble an Archfiend… had fallen from grace.

And Simon did not even lift a finger.

They all stared at Simon who remained standing on the wall with his hands behind his back and a pair of glowing indifferent sky blue eyes staring down at them like a king.

His aura… felt suffocating.

Majority gulped.

Were they witnessing the birth of a king?
