The Black Necromancer

Chapter 359 Start Of The Assault (2)

When the haze of mana from the explosion cleared out, a scene of carnage and destruction made itself known.

There was no scorch or heat damage. No, everything had been cleanly sliced and destroyed by the powerful spatial storm that had engulfed half of the base after Oris ad crashed into the main building.

The severed and minced remains of Demons who were in the radius of the storm could be seen amongst the rubble. The A rank Demons in the sky were stunned by the sheer destruction that one attack had unleashed. It was only then that they got a proper feel of Oris’ aura.

Peak A rank!

Everyone was stunned! Who was this ballsy individual that dared to charge into their side of the battlefield?! Even if he had Peak A rank strength, then so did they!

Boom!

Several powerful aura blazed from further back in Demon-conquered territory. Their presences were quickly heading for the frontlines.

Whoosh!

Oris shot back into the sky and spread his wings while the other Dark Wing Eagles continued their rampage below. He looked around with his sharp eagle eyes and spotted multiple powerful Demons speeding in his direction.

“Return!”

His voice boomed as he turned around to flee. His job was never to fight the Demons head on, but to attract their attention. All the Dark Wing Eagles turned around to fleet, which caused the A rank Demons to snap back to reality. They quickly used their powerful skills and abilities to shoot down the eagles.

The summons performed evasive maneuvers, but did not focus on it. Instead, they focused their attention on making sure Oris got out of there in one piece. Compared to summoning them again, the cost of summoning Oris if he was killed in battle was many times more.

The space around Oris and the other eagles twisted before they vanished with a mass teleportation. It was then that the Demons who had been on their way arrived at the battlefield.

“What happened here?!” A high A rank Demon demanded from the other Low A ranks that had failed to stop Oris.

“A Peak A rank launched a sudden attack on us, along with hundreds of Peak B ranks. We were not able to stop them.” The one who had been in charge said with his head lowered before the High A rank.

“Useless! All of you!” The High A rank cursed just before he felt a fluctuation in the ambient mana around them. He held up his hand and projected a barrier that blocked out the invisible bombardment of spatial blades.

“They’re back?” The Demon turned up to see dozens of Dark Wing Eagles with the strength of Pseudo A ranks! Instantly, his eyes blazed with black fire that instantly turned the surrounding areas a darker shade. Black marks appeared on his body as he seemed to draw power from another source.

“All of you can just disappear!” A pulse of black flames burst out of his body. The black flames spread out incredibly quickly, and only a scant few eagles were able to escape its radius. All the others were turned into ashes in an instant!

Leon watched all of this happen through the eyes of the eagles. He then turned to the thousand mages that had gathered at the foot of the Wall.

He waved his hand.

Hummmm!

The air thrummed as an astonishing number of powerful spells were set loose. Not only his summons, but also many other mages from the forces they had at hand constantly released spells. An A rank from the Empire of Light stood behind them and spread his aura, which acted as a buff, increasing the power of their spells.

The white haired man nodded at Leon with a friendly smile. Leon only returned the nod to acknowledge the man, but he did not act in a friendly manner. His intuition told him that the man was being sincere, though, so he entertained the possibility of befriending the man on a personal level.

In his talk with Leonidas, he had come to learn that several Pillars of the Empire of Light were not really accepting of the policies and worldview of the empire they served, but because of certain reasons, they simply had to continue their service to the Empire.

On the side of the Demons, they suddenly had to put up with an increasing amount of magical bombardment that were as strong as A rank attacks! The A rank Demons set up their defenses as best as they could in the short term, while calling for back up from the Demon Continent. There were only around a dozen A rank Demons present here, and over half of them were Low A ranks. They could not hold the line if it was just them!π”¬π•πžxt.πžΈπ‘š

Leon nodded his head. Everything was going as planned. The sudden assault had caught the enemy off guard and forced their backs against a wall. They would be forced to call for back up, which was when the proper battle for the Desolate Lands would start.

However, before those reinforcements came, it would be best to get rid of a few A ranks. He turned to his elite summons that were dutifully standing to the side.

“It’s time for you to show off. Go ahead and get rid of as many of them as you can.” He told them.

“Yes Master!” The chorus of replied rang out immediately and Leon chuckled. He could feel the excitement within them as they took off, heading over the Wall and speeding in the direction of the Demons. They were eager to prove themselves to him, as they had not gotten a proper chance ever since they completed their race advancement.

“Can we count on them to do a good job?” Richard walked to his side with Yaika.

Leon turned to look at the both of them.

“Do you believe in my strength?” He asked.

“Yes.” Yaika was the one who answered. After all, she had seen a glimmer of his true strength when he created Raegan and Daren.

Leon smiled.

“Then believe in theirs.”
