The Black Necromancer

Chapter 358 Start Of The Assault

Leon emerged from the meeting room some time later. He had held a fruitful discussion with Leonidas on his role in the upcoming battle.

Looking around, he could already see the signs of the soldiers being mobilized. The air was abuzz with charged up mana as teleportation formations flashed, constantly sending a stream of soldiers from the various kingdoms that were participating in this battle. What was notable was that several more A ranks had arrived as reinforcements from the various kingdoms!

It was not an easy to decision to send the backbone and defenders of a kingdom to the frontlines to fight. Their death could inflict telling damage to any nation.

Two more pillars were sent from the Empire of Light. Leon could see them speaking with Amelia and Carter. The three of them had annoyed expressions as they spoke to Amelia, while the lady had a prideful expression that showed she was not backing down.

Leon shook his head and turned away to observe the other A ranks. He believed she would soon get what was coming her way. Every A rank had pride in their strength, but she was just being ridiculous.

The Dura Kingdom had sent a single A rank to support Damian. It was a young lady with silver hair and eyes. She had an extremely bright expression as she spoke with Damian.

After a bit of time, Leon had a rough estimate of the number of A ranks that were on their side, aside from his own force. There were roughly thirty A ranks gathered here! This was an extremely large number, and one that could surely be used to siege an entire continent! All of this was brought for just one reason. To push back the Demons!

More and more lower rank troops began to pour into the forward base. They gathered at the base of the wall under the instructions of their various commanders, while the commanders discussed on the upcoming operation.

Leon was not much of a planner, so he stayed clear from it and only planned to act as he and Leonidas had agreed.𝒪𝗏𝔩xt.𝔬𝐌

“Master, you called for me.” After a while, Oris came before Leon. The summon now resembled a Beastkin that was closely related to birds. His sharp eagle features gave him an extremely serious look.

“Yes. I want you and your kin to start this operation for us.” Leon nodded. He had called for Oris some time ago, as it was almost time to begin the operation. Already, a few skirmishes had broken out beyond the wall, as planned. However, these small skirmishes were nothing to the all out war that would be starting soon.

“Anything, Master.” Oris bowed his head.

“Go and bombard the Demon camps on the other side of the battlefield. You are a Peak A rank, they should not be able to stop you easily unless someone who can match your strength shows up, or they gang up on you.” Leon gave his instructions, and soon, Oris took to the skies. Not long after, hundreds of Dark Wing Eagles passed over the forward base, their bodies appearing like dark shadows as the tore through the sky, heading for the Demon’s part of the battlefield.

.

.

Oris’ feathers fluttered as he blazed through the sky. The space around him warped and twisted as he manipulated it to better allow his passage. This was a basic technique that all Dark Wing Eagles knew by the first time they left their mother’s nest. Although he had been born in the dungeon of the Tower of Trials, he was not ‘spawned’. He had been nurtured from an egg to adolescence when he had left the nest that the tower had birthed him in. He was one of the first, so he had not known the love of a mother.

However, all of that was irrelevant. He had found a home at Leon’s side, and he was content.

At the speed that he was traveling at, it only took less than a minute for him to cross the length of the battlefield and arrive at the forward base of the Demons. His kin were right behind him.

Naturally, their approach did not go unnoticed by the Demons. Their A ranks had noticed Oris’ approach thanks to his conspicuous aura that he did not bother to hide. The Demons scrambled as they tried to put up a defense.

A smirk crossed Onyx’s face as he saw the Demons scrambling. A few Low A ranks were also preparing themselves to repel him.

“With me, brothers!” Onyx suddenly divebombed down to the earth while an ominous power surged within his body. The space around him began to warp and ripple as he approached the ground. Meanwhile, the Dark Wing Eagles behind him unfurled their large wings, releasing hundreds of spatial attacks onto the ground in every passing moment.

Chaos erupted.

Spatial blades peppered the ground like raindrops during a storm. Aside from the A ranks, most of the Demons were not able to resist and instantly sustained grievous injuries! Although the B rank Demons did not die outright, their injuries would make sure that they would not be able to fight at their full power in the coming battle. Some of them had even been rendered unable to fight at all in the short term!

As the Dark Wing Eagles continued to wreak havoc, the A ranks finally got themselves together and charged into the sky to destroy the birds.

“Scatter!” Oris called out as he also diverted his path. He accurately struck the central building of the enemy’s central base, causing a massive surge of mana to explode!

BOOOM!!!

A massive explosion of black light instantly devoured the building and half of the base, along with many Demons that were in the radius of the explosion. The most surprising thing about the explosion was that there were no flames! Instead, the entire area seemed to have been swallowed by a storm of spatial blades!
