The Billionaire's Heir I Never Knew Was Mine

Chapter 345: Are You Her Husband?

“Please don’t say anything about this to Zachary. I want to surprise him.” Sienna gave him a pleading smile, hoping Scott would understand how important it was to her.

Scott looked at her for a moment before giving a gentle nod. “If that’s what you want, sure, I won’t say anything.”

Sienna relaxed slightly at his response, although she still wasn’t completely convinced that he would be able to keep the news to himself. Scott was cheerful and friendly, but he was also close to Zachary. If he became too excited, she wouldn’t be surprised if he accidentally revealed something before she had the chance to surprise her husband.

“Thank you, Scott…” she said, still watching him carefully.

Scott chuckled at her suspicious expression. “You don’t trust me?”

Sienna shook her head and hurriedly said, “I didn’t say that.”

“Sister-in-law, from the way you look at me, you didn’t have to.” He smiled, clearly amused, before turning toward the laboratory. “Anyway, I’ll check on the results and come back.”

Sienna watched him walk away, then lowered her gaze to her flat belly. Her stomach twisted with nervousness as she thought about the possibility that she might be carrying Zachary’s child again.

She wanted to be happy, but the uncertainty made it difficult to settle her emotions. Until the results came back, she could only wait and hope that the answer would bring her the joy she had been quietly wishing for.

After sitting in the waiting room for a few more minutes, Sienna finally saw Scott walking toward her. His expression was difficult to read, and the uncertainty on his face immediately made her nervous.

She couldn’t tell whether the results were good or bad, and the longer she looked at him, the more anxious she became.

Unable to wait any longer, Sienna stood up and walked toward him. “How are the results?”

Instead of answering her directly, Scott gave her a meaningful smile.

“Follow me upstairs. I’ll have the number one OB-GYN in our hospital read your laboratory results.”

Sienna stared at him, her disappointment showing in her expression. “So, you don’t know either?”

She had hoped Scott would tell her immediately, especially after he went to check the results himself. She wanted to know whether she was pregnant, but he seemed determined to keep her guessing.

Scott didn’t answer her question. He simply turned around and walked toward the private elevator that led to the upper floor reserved for VIP patients.

Sienna had no choice but to follow him, though she couldn’t help feeling more nervous with every step. On the outside, she tried to stay calm, but her thoughts grew increasingly restless.

All the symptoms she had experienced recently pointed toward pregnancy, especially since she had missed her period that month. She had already suspected the answer, but knowing that she might be carrying Zachary’s child again made her heart race with both excitement and fear. Until a doctor confirmed it, she couldn’t let herself get too hopeful.

When they reached the elevator, Scott pressed the button and waited beside her. Neither of them spoke as the doors opened, and they stepped inside.

Sienna stood quietly, her hands clasped together in front of her while she tried to control her nervousness. 𝑓𝑟ℯℴ𝓂

“Ladies first,” Scott said suddenly.

His voice pulled her out of her thoughts. Sienna looked ahead and realized that the elevator doors had already opened.

“Thank you,” she said as she stepped out.

“You’re welcome. See? I’m still a gentleman, even when I’m handling important medical cases,” Scott tried to ease her tension.

Sienna shook her head, though the corners of her lips lifted slightly. “You’re always finding a way to joke around, Dr. Scott…”

“That’s how I help people relax,” he said calmly. “Especially patients who look like they’re about to faint before receiving their results.”

“I’m not going to faint,” Sienna said, although her nervous expression suggested otherwise.

Scott chuckled but didn’t tease her further. Instead, he led her down the quiet hallway and stopped in front of a private consultation room.

When he opened the door, Sienna saw a middle-aged woman standing inside. The woman had a warm smile and a calm, welcoming presence that immediately made Sienna feel a little more comfortable.

“Mrs. Sterling,” the woman greeted her as she approached and offered her hand. “Please, have a seat.”

Sienna returned the greeting and reached for her hand. She had barely taken a step toward the chair when Scott spoke from the doorway.

“Mother, just call her Sienna,” he said with a light chuckle.

He then looked at Sienna. “Sister-in-law, this beautiful doctor is my beloved mother, Linda. She’ll be your OB-GYN from now on.”

Sienna was surprised for a moment when she heard the word mother. She hadn’t expected to meet Scott’s mother, much less discover she was the doctor who would be handling her pregnancy.

She quickly composed herself and gave Linda a polite smile. “It’s nice to meet you, Mrs. Anderson…”

“Oh, dear, just call me Linda.” The older woman gently patted Sienna’s hand. “And may I call you Sienna?”

“Yes, of course.”

“Alright… Then we can stop behaving like strangers.” Linda smiled warmly before motioning toward the chair. “Please, take a seat. I want you to feel comfortable and relax here. Can you do that for me?”

Sienna nodded and sat opposite her. Linda took the medical file from the desk and reviewed the information carefully. Her warm expression remained noticeable, but she soon shifted into her professional manner as she prepared to discuss Sienna’s condition.

Before beginning, Linda glanced at her son, who still stood in the doorway, looking curious.

“You should leave now, Scott. This is a private consultation between my patient and me.”

Scott’s smile faded slightly. He leaned against the doorframe and looked at his mother with clear reluctance. “Please, Mother. Can I stay? I want to hear the results too.”

Linda raised her eyebrows. “Why? Are you her husband?”

“No, but I’m pretty sure her husband considers me family,” Scott replied, pretending to sound completely reasonable.

“Son, you’re acting like an overly curious teenage boy who needs to learn when to leave a doctor’s office, do you know that?”

Sienna couldn’t help smiling at the mother-son exchange. Scott looked at her as if he expected her to support him, but she quickly looked away while trying to hide her smile.
