The company lawyer, who had been sitting quietly beside William, gave a brief nod.

“Yes. They went ahead with it,” the lawyer said seriously. “At this point, I just want to ask you something…to make sure that we win this fight.”

Riley’s stomach tightened at those words. He tried not to show his nervousness and kept his posture relaxed. “Yes, sir… Please ask.”

“Did you take the program or any of the Cresswell Tech documents related or unrelated to the project?”

Riley looked directly at the lawyer and answered firmly, “No.”

The lawyer kept studying him, his expression growing more serious as he asked, “Do you know if anyone on your team did it or may have done it?”

Riley didn’t hesitate this time either.

“No, sir!”

His answer was firm and immediate.

The lawyer remained quiet for a moment before finally giving a small nod. “Very well… Then I’ll make sure we win this fight.”

There was satisfaction in his voice, as though Riley’s answers had given him enough confidence to move forward. William remained silent in his seat, his expression still difficult to read.

Riley, however, felt a slight sense of relief wash over him. It wasn’t enough to make him completely comfortable, but at least they had not accused him of anything. He had expected questions, but he had prepared himself to deny everything if necessary.

Because the truth was that he had done it. But he had no intention of admitting it, not to his father, not to the lawyer, and certainly not to anyone else.

Whatever happened with the lawsuit, he would make sure no evidence could lead back to him.

For now, all he needed to do was remain calm and let everyone believe his answers.

…

At Silver City

Sienna could no longer put off visiting the hospital. Her headache and nausea had been getting worse, and whenever she tried to eat, she ended up throwing up before the food could even settle in her stomach.

Even the scents she used to love had become unbearable, making her turn away in disgust whenever she encountered them.

These symptoms reminded her of when she was pregnant with Skylar. The familiar signs made her suspect that she might be pregnant again, but she didn’t want to rely on assumptions. She needed to get checked as soon as possible to know for sure. Although Zachary wasn’t home, she decided to visit Anderson Hospital.

As soon as the car pulled up in front of the hospital’s main entrance, Sienna looked toward Logan, who was still sitting behind the wheel.

“Logan,” she called, her voice calm but firm.

“Yes, ma’am?” he turned slightly in his seat to look at her.

“I’d appreciate it if you didn’t tell Zachary about this hospital visit.”

Logan remained quiet for a moment. His expression showed he was still thinking about how to respond properly. He was Zachary’s trusted person, and Sienna knew he would probably feel obligated to tell her husband if he believed something was wrong, out of place, or unusual.

“I’m fine, Logan. I don’t feel sick at all,” Sienna added when she noticed his uncertain look. She tried to sound convincing as she continued, “I just wanted to see an old friend who is working in the lab.”

She didn’t want to tell him about her visit to the hospital because she hoped to surprise Zachary if the results confirmed her suspicion. She also knew that if she told Logan the truth, he would eventually inform her husband. After all, Logan had always been loyal to Zachary and took his responsibilities seriously.

“Yes, ma’am,” Logan finally answered.

Sienna felt relieved, even though she wasn’t entirely sure he believed her. She quickly stepped out of the car and walked toward the hospital entrance while Logan drove away to park.

Her check-up didn’t take long. The medical staff examined her, asked about her symptoms, and drew her blood for testing. Once everything was done, they asked Sienna to wait for the lab results. She sat in the waiting area, trying to remain calm, though her thoughts kept returning to Zachary and how he might react if she really was pregnant.

While she was waiting, she suddenly heard someone call her name.

“Sienna?”

She turned toward the voice and was surprised to see Dr. Scott Anderson approaching her. He was only a few steps away and looked slightly surprised to find her there.

Scott smiled broadly as he came closer, but his expression changed when he realized they were standing in the OB-GYN department.

“Sister-in-law, why are you here—” He stopped in the middle of his sentence, his eyes widening slightly as a possible explanation crossed his mind. His excitement became more obvious as he looked at her.

“Are you pregnant?” he asked in a softer voice, though he spoke clearly enough for her to hear.

Sienna had wanted to keep her hospital visit a secret, but her plan had already failed. Scott wasn’t only one of the hospital’s co-owners; he was also Zachary’s close friend.

Even if she refused to explain anything, Scott could probably check her medical records if he wanted to. There was little point in trying to hide the reason for her visit from him.

She gave him a small smile and answered honestly, “Scott, I don’t know yet. That’s why I came here to get checked.”

“You’re waiting for the test results?”

His voice carried so much excitement that, for a moment, he looked less like a doctor and more like a family member who had just received wonderful news. However, his cheerful reaction didn’t make him careless. He still showed a calm, professional manner, especially with medical matters.

“Yes.” Sienna glanced at the wall clock before looking back at him. “They should be ready in a few minutes.”

“Then wait here. I’ll go and check for you,” Scott said enthusiastically. He turned as if he were about to leave immediately, but Sienna quickly reached out and stopped him.

Scott looked back at her, his eyebrows lifting. “Yes?”
