The Bigshot Married Himself to the Heiress
Chapter 1443 Courting Disaster
Adrian’s collar had flipped up, and Sienna stood on tiptoe to straighten it for him. Being this close, Adrian noticed the strong smell of alcohol on her.
"You said you didn’t drink much, but you smell like a distillery," Adrian questioned.
"You can’t even manage to come home early or avoid drinking, yet you demand that from me. Hmph, I’m not listening to you."
Sienna spoke in a sweet, coquettish voice, making it hard for Adrian to stay angry.
"You’re a woman!"
"So what if I am?"
There was no room for negotiation on this matter. Adrian commanded, "From now on, you’re not allowed to drink!" Considering her work nature, Adrian softened a bit, "At least, not too much."
"If you can come home early and not always drink yourself into a stupor, then I’ll try not to stay out late or indulge too much," Sienna bargained with him.
What could Adrian say? Naturally, he agreed.
He’s a man; he can mess around outside. She’s a woman, and a beautiful one at that—Adrian is head over heels for her, let alone those older men.
Sienna buried her face in his chest, noticing his scent—no alcohol, no tobacco—and she secretly smiled.
It seemed this tactic had worked well.
"You smell nice," Sienna took a deep breath.
"This is a parking lot; don’t entice me," Adrian’s breathing became heavier under her teasing.
"Adrian, I’m dizzy, hold me," Sienna coquettishly asked, emboldened by the alcohol.
"Serves you right for being dizzy, drinking so much," Adrian said, but he still picked her up.
Adrian continued to scare her, "...One day I was having dinner with someone, heard about a woman drinking with a man, got knocked out, and then *******. Guys are all wolves in sheep’s clothing. You’re so pretty. If you dare stay out late and drink so much again, be careful they might devour you."
Sienna wasn’t worried about such things. She always goes out with Sally, and even if she gets drunk, Sally ensures her safety.
"Hmph! You don’t get to reproach me. You’re the same! I heard about a woman taking advantage of a man."
"Besides you, who dares to take advantage of me?" Adrian didn’t think any woman could "overpower" him.
"Who knows which little seductress you might meet."
"That little seductress is you."
Sally kept her distance, not interfering with the couple’s teasing, watching Adrian carry Sienna into the car, she got into another vehicle to follow them.
...
Returning to the Johnson Family home, Adrian was still harboring some anger.
After Sienna finished her bath, he punished her fiercely in bed, leaving Sienna hoarse from calling out, which finally calmed Adrian’s heart.
"Still dare to come home late, still dare to drink so much?" Adrian pressed her beneath him, threatening.
"I don’t dare, I don’t dare, let me go, I can’t take it."
"Really?"
"Really."
"What if you lie to me?"
"I’ll be a puppy if I lie to you!"
Adrian laughed, "You’re already a puppy, biting me all the time."
After Sienna repeatedly promised never to stay out late or indulge in booze again, Adrian finally let her go.
Later, after a few nights of Adrian coming home late, Sienna would also come home late; Adrian would return drunk, Sienna would definitely come home drunk as well. Adrian gradually understood the situation—that cunning woman was doing it on purpose, so he also rarely stayed out late and drank.
Every day he obediently drank the tonic, Sienna’s smiles grew even brighter.
Adrian’s heart was full of gratitude; this usually cold-natured woman clearly had placed him in her heart, which was why she expended so much effort for him.
Having figured it out, Adrian was no longer afraid of the bitter medicine and drank it willingly.
When Adrian’s body was no longer tormented by those hidden ailments, he finally understood the woman’s well-meaning intentions.
Loving someone is caring for their body, hoping they’re healthy and whole.
...
Elsa White’s case quickly went to trial, with Herbert Young’s ample experience and the evidence being clear, the court verdict came swiftly.
The Court ruled: Elsa White must publish an apology in the paper to the involved parties and compensate for their emotional damages with one yuan.
The one yuan for emotional damages was Sienna’s request, purely symbolic; she mainly wanted Elsa White to apologize in the paper, to clear her and Pauline Briggs’s names.
On receiving the verdict, Elsa White was furious. Initially paralyzed, this sudden rage even allowed her to sit up.
"I won’t publish any apology in the paper, nor will I compensate them for their emotional damages!" Elsa White angrily declared.
"..."
"Who does she think she is? What is she!" Elsa White cursed.
Benjamin White was delighted to see his daughter able to sit up. He only has one daughter, and that’s why he spoils her a bit. Benjamin White thought nothing of it.
"Elsa, focus on your treatment. Don’t worry about them; I’ve got everything sorted, I’ll handle it."
"Dad, they’re bullying me. Boohoo..."
Having been insulted and bullied twice by Adrian, Elsa’s feelings have soured, no longer purely affection—there’s an indefinable mix of anger and conquest. Elsa now just wants Adrian to kneel before her, begging for forgiveness and affection.
"Elsa, I’ve already called the police. I have contacts in the Police Department, I won’t let those who bullied you get away." Benjamin promised his daughter.
"Dad, make Adrian come and beg me for forgiveness, otherwise I won’t let this go easily."
"Okay, I promise you. I’ll promise you anything. You focus on your medication and rehabilitation. You will get better."
Elsa looked at her unresponsive legs and pounded them angrily, "I feel nothing, why has it come to this?"
"..."
"It’s all Sienna Johnson’s fault. If not for her, I wouldn’t have become like this." Elsa placed all the blame on Sienna.
Elsa assumed it was definitely Sienna who found out about her feelings for Adrian, grew jealous, and therefore took underhanded measures against her, resulting in her paralysis.
...
Adrian was taking the twins to their early education class when he received a call from a friend at the Police Station saying that Elsa White had accused him of attempted murder.
"Buddy, the White Family isn’t ordinary folks; I couldn’t keep the case suppressed. I’m letting you know so you’re aware and won’t be caught off guard later," Captain Harris from the Criminal Police Team said.
"I understand, thank you."
"No need to thank me. That Elsa White isn’t any good, I believe in your innocence."
"Of course I’m innocent."
Adrian had long dismissed Elsa White as a nuisance, only to find she’s returned to cause trouble again.
Adrian’s expression briefly showed a murderous intent, which frightened Claire into tears, prompting Adrian to quickly adopt a more fatherly demeanor to soothe her.
"How can you be so scared, with such a tiny boldness—it’s nothing like my offspring."
