Claire cautiously observed her father’s expression. Seeing Adrian’s face return to normal, she finally stopped crying with a few sobs.

The little appearance softened Adrian’s heart.

"Waa..."

Adrian had just managed to soothe Claire when he heard a child’s cry. He looked over to see Hugo hitting another child.

Hugo held a ball in his arms, blinking at the crying baby. Adrian guessed that Hugo had hit the child in an attempt to grab the ball.

The child’s parent picked up the hit child and said to Hugo sitting there, "How can you hit someone?"

Seeing that Hugo was too young, the parent couldn’t hit him back, so they shouted, "Whose child is this? Where are the parents? Your child hit our son..."

Marion looked at Adrian, who picked Claire up and left, leaving Hugo there alone.

Marion: ...

Adrian looked at his well-behaved daughter in his arms and said, "It’s better to have a daughter. That little brat causes trouble even at such a young age. When he grows up, who knows what else he will do..." Remembering that Sienna had told him not to use foul language in front of the kids, Adrian corrected himself, "Claire is the best. Let’s not learn from the little brat."

Claire saw her father smiling at her and smiled too. "Although your temperament isn’t like me or your mom, you do look like your mom."

"Hehe..." Claire smiled with her father, and Adrian lifted her high. Claire held onto her father’s clothes tightly, her eyes flashing with fear, so Adrian put her down.

"Don’t be afraid, Daddy won’t lift you high again."

All the kids liked Adrian lifting them high, except Claire, who was timid and didn’t like it.

...

Adrian took the twins home, only to find the police already waiting at their house.

It turned out that the White Family accused him of murder. Adrian, afraid of scaring his daughter, had the twins taken away.

"You came this fast to arrest me?" Adrian said.

"We had no choice; it’s an order from above."

Pauline was shocked. Seeing that they wanted to arrest Adrian, she rushed over to stand in front of him.

"My son-in-law didn’t kill anyone! Get out of my house!"

The police knew about the Johnson Family’s situation and really couldn’t afford to offend them. The officer spoke kindly, "Madam Johnson, we haven’t said your son-in-law committed murder; we’re just asking him to assist with an investigation."

Pauline was very adamant, "Since my son-in-law didn’t commit murder, why are you arresting him?

I tell you, no way!"

"..."

"You better leave quickly. If you don’t, I’ll call my sister-in-law and have her sue you... By then, you’ll all be facing lawsuits."

Captain Harris couldn’t afford to provoke Pauline, so he looked at Adrian. They had some acquaintance and hoped Adrian would voluntarily come with them.

"Adrian, you see Madam Johnson misunderstood. We just want you to come over and explain the situation. Can you explain it to your mother-in-law?"

Adrian was momentarily stunned. Pauline, who always seemed displeased with him, unexpectedly defended him in the critical moment.

It seems this little old lady with the sharp tongue has a soft heart and isn’t that bothersome after all.

Paige and Kiya heard the commotion and came over to see three police officers in the yard, with Pauline standing in front of Adrian, arguing with them.

Paige moved to her brother’s side and asked, "Brother, what’s going on?"

Adrian said, "Nothing much, it seems like a misunderstanding. The police want me to go to the Police Station to make a statement and understand the situation."

"..."

Adrian put his hand on Pauline’s shoulder, sensing her tension, and reassured her, "Mom, Claire and Hugo need their milk. Can you take care of them? I’ll go to the Police Station and be back soon."

Pauline was not at ease, "A place like the Police Station, people suffer hardships once they get in. If they want to ask questions, they can ask them here."

Captain Harris said with difficulty, "Madam Johnson, that’s not in accordance with our procedures; I’m afraid it won’t work."

As Pauline was about to lose her temper, Adrian said, "Mom, it’s okay. I’ll be back soon. You go help me look after the kids. When Sienna comes back, tell her I’ve gone to the Police Station."

"..."

"Let’s go," Adrian said to Captain Harris.

Captain Harris gratefully smiled at Adrian, leading his team as they followed closely behind Adrian. If they weren’t in uniform, others would think they were Adrian’s lackeys.

...

Sienna Johnson had just returned home when she heard about Adrian being taken by the police. Without even drinking a sip of water, she rushed to the Police Station.

On the way, she called Marion to understand the situation. It turned out Elsa White had been in a serious car accident. Elsa accused Adrian of tampering with her vehicle, attempting to murder her, which led to the accident and her paralysis.

Sienna sat in the car, half her face hidden in the night, leaving her expression unclear, only the movement of her red lips.

"Was it Sixth Master?" Sienna asked in a low voice.

Marion said, "No!"

Knowing it wasn’t Adrian, Sienna felt reassured and said, "I’ll come over soon. You stay at the Police Station and make sure Adrian doesn’t act rashly."

"Yes, Madam."

Sienna hung up the phone, urging Sally to drive faster, and Sally accelerated.

...

At the Police Station,

When Sienna arrived, the police had just finished questioning Adrian. Sienna wanted to take Adrian home, but the police wouldn’t allow it, even refusing bail.

Sienna angrily said, "Do you have any evidence that my husband committed murder?"

"He is a major suspect," Captain Harris said matter-of-factly. "President Johnson, please don’t make it difficult for us. We are following orders."

Sienna’s eyes were sharp, "Following orders? Whose orders are you following? Benjamin White’s?"

Captain Harris laughed it off, "I’m just a small policeman; how could I know so much?"

"Can I see Adrian?"

"Of course, but you only have ten minutes. In principle, you’re not allowed to meet."

Sienna said, "Thank you, ten minutes is fine."

Captain Harris personally led Sienna to see Adrian, who was detained in a small room. When Sienna entered, Adrian was doing pull-ups, exercising his body.

It seemed that she worried for nothing; Sixth Master was doing just fine.

Captain Harris said, "Adrian, your wife is here."

Adrian jumped down, sweating, "Thanks."

"You’re welcome."

Captain Harris exited, leaving the two alone. Adrian, knowing she disliked the sweat, didn’t hug her.

"I’m hungry. Did you bring me some food?" Adrian asked.

As soon as Sienna got the news, she hurried over and hadn’t had time to prepare him dinner.

"Don’t they provide food here?"

"I didn’t eat enough."

Sienna had Sally go buy food for Adrian, while she stayed to discuss the case with him.
