The Bigshot Married Himself to the Heiress
Chapter 1301 - 1241: Nailed to the Wall
Night Owl showed Sienna Johnson pictures of Adrian Desmond holding that woman, Sienna’s expression remained calm, but her heart felt disturbed.
They had been together for so many years, how could Adrian have mistaken her for someone else?
Footsteps interrupted the wave of bitterness in Sienna’s heart; she stood up abruptly, hearing the footsteps coming from in front of her, and was immediately shocked.
No one should casually wander into this place.
Sienna looked around; the path could not be advanced upon, only retreated from. There was no third option.
Without knowing whether friend or foe lay ahead, Sienna could only return the way she came.
She wouldn’t naively think Adrian had come to rescue her; this place wasn’t easy to find.
Hearing the footsteps getting closer, Sienna had no choice but to turn back, crossing fifty meters through the phosphorescent corridor, re-entering darkness.
The darkness made one helpless and scared.
However, after entering the darkness, she did not continue forward.
She felt the wall, sticking closely to its base, using the darkness to hide her figure.
The footsteps came closer, and Sienna heard a man’s voice; it was Night Owl’s, and she was startled.
At that moment, Sienna realized a problem; not having a flashlight didn’t mean Night Owl didn’t have one. If she hid in the darkness and they shone their flashlight, wouldn’t she be exposed?
But she had no other choice in her heart.
Sienna was relieved to be wearing black clothes today; she felt the wall behind her, walked ten meters in the opposite direction, then stopped and stood still.
The light flickered, and Sienna saw a coffin; without thinking, she hid behind it.
Sienna crouched there, using the coffin to conceal herself.
They indeed had flashlights, but the flashlights’ range was limited, not illuminating everything, allowing Sienna to remain hidden.
Just now, that brief flash revealed a hall-like place with a coffin inside to Sienna.
Sienna dared not breathe audibly, afraid of alerting Night Owl.
Luckily, they walked quickly and didn’t suspect she had already escaped.
These days, she had stayed obediently in that room, creating an illusion that she would remain there.
The footsteps faded, until they could no longer be heard; Sienna quickly got up, headed back down the path, swiftly crossing the 50-meter luminous corridor.
Earlier she walked cautiously; now Sienna ran, with the path safe since Night Owl had been on it earlier without issue.
...
Night Owl left his subordinates outside and walked in. The room’s light was on, but Sienna was nowhere to be seen.
"Sienna?" Night Owl called.
The room was especially quiet; Night Owl’s sharp gaze scanned the meticulously decorated room, searching for Sienna.
"Sienna, are you playing hide and seek with me?"
Night Owl walked to the bedside and suddenly crouched down; nobody was under the bed. Night Owl got up and walked to the wardrobe.
"You’re so grown up, yet still so mischievous... Come out; or if I find you, I’ll punish you severely."
Night Owl suddenly opened the wardrobe; it was full of clothes. He pushed them aside, and Sienna wasn’t inside.
Suddenly, a cry for help was heard, distant, but Night Owl had heard it.
Night Owl quickly left the room, following the sound.
"Help..." It was Sienna’s voice; the woman had left the room.
"Does this woman have a death wish? How dare she wander in the Imperial Mausoleum!" Night Owl said angrily.
Lithium worried about Night Owl wandering the mausoleum alone and suggested, "Master, let me go check it out."
Night Owl didn’t reply but instead went personally, crossing the phosphorescent corridor and walking nearly 15 meters, spotting the woman he was searching for.
Sienna Johnson had been struck by multiple arrows: one in her thigh, both arms, with the most severe injury in her abdomen.
"Night Owl, save me," Sienna pleaded for Night Owl’s help.
In her condition, she needed Night Owl’s power to leave. Within an hour, she would pass out from excessive blood loss, perhaps go into shock.
"Night Owl, put me down." When Night Owl remained indifferent, Sienna said it again.
Sienna knew the Imperial Mausoleum was full of traps and had been careless thinking she was safe when Night Owl arrived earlier. Now she was pinned by arrows to the wall; if Night Owl didn’t save her, within an hour she’d die from blood loss.
"Does it hurt?" Night Owl asked.
Of course, it did; even breathing was painful for Sienna.
Sienna said, "Night Owl, it hurts, I feel dizzy, if you don’t get me down I’ll die."
Night Owl didn’t move, instead appreciating the woman pinned to the wall, "You look like Jesus on the cross..."
At this point, Sienna had no energy for jokes, "If you don’t want me to die from blood loss or tetanus, hurry and take me to the hospital."
"I think if you died, it would be nice; I could preserve you as a specimen, then you’d never run away again." Night Owl said chillingly.
"To make me a specimen, you’d have to get me off the wall first."
Night Owl didn’t expect her to reply like that; he couldn’t help but laugh, "You’re quite a woman..."
Ultimately, Night Owl wasn’t willing to turn this interesting woman into a cold specimen, although at that moment he really wanted her dead.
However, Night Owl was very rough, pulling the arrows from Sienna’s leg directly, taking her flesh with them, causing her to scream in pain.
The arrowheads were triangular, if forcibly removed they would cause further injury. The right way was to break the arrow shaft at the base, then at the hospital, open the wound and remove the arrowhead.
"Night Owl, that’s not how you do it..."
Sienna explained the correct way to remove the arrows to Night Owl, who ignored her. The arrow in her right arm was removed the same way, causing her excruciating pain, feeling close to death.
"This is punishment! Punishment for a disobedient woman!"
"..."
"If I didn’t like you, I’d make you die more painfully."
"Ah..." Another arrow was brutally pulled from her left arm; Night Owl looked at the bloodied flesh, saying,
"A woman who doesn’t suffer won’t learn to behave. I hope you remember this pain, and not do foolish things again."
"..."
"A man’s patience is limited; every bit of my fondness you squander, it decreases a bit. When I no longer like you, you’ll only have death awaiting you."
