The Apocalypse Strikes, I Became a Druid
Chapter 108 The Correct Usage of Communication with Nature
Chapter 108: Chapter 107: The Correct Usage of Communication with Nature
"Weak. I’m still too weak!"
Watching Professor Ye leave, Han Ning thought of the overwhelming pressure exerted by the Four-Armed Black Snake Monster Leader, and a long-lost sense of urgency surged within him.
He thought, "The monsters nearby give me very little Energy now. How can I quickly get stronger?"
He currently had two directions he could pursue simultaneously. The first was to go hunting to increase the Skill Level of his various Skills and advance his Cultivation. The second was to Support Professor Ye in cultivating plants capable of combat. By using his abilities to mass-produce these plants, they would stand a chance against the swarming monsters.
However, they were completely in the dark at the moment. There wasn’t even a single sign of plant mutation. In this environment, it would be best to cultivate a plant that could take root and survive underwater, yet still thrive when removed from the aquatic environment.
As an ordinary person, Professor Ye had no way of creating these Extraordinary Crops on his own; he could only act as Support. Relying solely on Han Ning’s Natural Blessing provided no clear direction either.
"I might as well ask nature," he thought.
His Mental Power was almost fully replenished. He found a quiet little conference room, leaned against the corner by himself, and rested for a while. Once his Mental Power had mostly recovered, Han Ning dispelled all distracting thoughts and focused his Spirit.
Just like last time, he raised his right index finger, gathering a speck of pure emerald light at the tip. The speck of light appeared exceptionally soft in the dim room, brimming with a vigorous aura of life.
His fingertip traced slowly through the air in a profound and mysterious trajectory. The air seemed disturbed by an invisible force, leaving behind a glowing trail like fireflies. A complex mark, exuding an ancient and natural aura, gradually took shape beneath his finger.
As the final stroke fell, the mark suddenly flared to life, transforming into a warm green halo that gently enveloped his entire body.
HUM.
Han Ning’s Spirit Perception elevated, extending infinitely. Once again, he established a faint connection with the natural will of this world. His consciousness sent an inquiry to that vast and indifferent will.
Scenes flashed through his mind—fantasies of crops like the squirting cucumber, Venus Flytrap, and Vajra Vine acquiring Extraordinary properties and slaughtering monsters.
Then, he asked tentatively, "How can I make them as powerful as that?
"Ideally, they should be able to fight on both land and in the water," he added.
A moment of silence passed.
Visions, far clearer than the last time, appeared before Han Ning’s eyes.
The first vision:
The scene lacked a single plant. Instead, it was set in a gloomy underground space. Several bizarre creatures, their forms somewhere between human and Fishman, were gathered around a dismantled, gigantic skeleton. Holding bone tools in their rough hands, they carefully cut open the interior of the skeleton’s chest cavity, revealing an area protected by a thick carapace.
Embedded within the carapace was an irregularly shaped Crystal Stone the size of a pigeon egg, shimmering with a faint, earthen-yellow light.
One of the Fishmen used a bone knife to pry the Crystal Stone loose, and another Fishman beside it took it.
The scene seemed to fast-forward. The Fishman holding the Crystal Stone quickened its pace and arrived in a relatively dry room. Holding a seemingly sharp Bone Blade, it began to engrave the surface of the Crystal Stone at an extremely slow pace.
As the carving knife descended, a faint blue Energy surged from the Fishman’s palm, injecting into the contact point between the blade’s tip and the Crystal Stone. As the mysterious patterns extended, the internal light of the Crystal Stone—which had originally only emitted a faint glow—suddenly became concentrated, as if it had been imbued with some kind of vitality.
The vision finally froze on that Crystal Stone, now engraved with water-ripple patterns, its light restrained within.
The scene shifted to land, inside a lush forest.
There were several humanoid creatures here as well. Wielding similar tools, they extracted a Crystal Stone emitting a faint yellow-green glow from within a pitch-black tree. Their subsequent actions were similar to those of the Fishmen just now, but the lines carved into the Crystal Stone were different.
Next came a mountain range filled with churning magma, where some creatures were performing similar actions.
The second, completely different vision:
The scene shifted to a rudimentary stone platform. A shallow pit had been dug in the center of the platform, and its bottom was lined with a thick layer of dark brown, almost black dirt.
A figure with an indistinct face threw a large number of Crystal Stone fragments, flickering with various faint lights, into the shallow pit. Then, the figure lifted a massive, still-twitching lizard-like creature and slit its throat. Scalding hot blood poured like a waterfall over the Crystal Stone fragments and the dirt.
The figure occasionally spewed out scorching flames and occasionally added some materials to the mix.
HISS.
White smoke billowed up. The Crystal Stone fragments slightly dissolved in the high heat. The dark brown dirt absorbed the nutrients mixed with the Crystal Stone Energy, the creature’s blood, and the various materials, its color shifting towards dark red.
Finally, most of the substances vanished, and the dirt at the bottom of the pit turned into a shiny dark-red, special soil with a uniform, fine texture, exuding strong Energy Fluctuations.
In the third vision, plants finally appeared.
The focus narrowed in on an ordinary plant placed underwater. A pair of gaunt hands carefully covered the roots of a plant—which looked somewhat similar to a squirting cucumber but was at least fifty percent different—with the dark-red High-Energy Soil produced in the second vision.
Those hands then covered the dirt where the plant was potted, radiating a natural glow brimming with vitality. Nourished by the light, the entire plant began to tremble slightly.
Then, like a master masseur, the hands—shimmering with a rich green light—gently pressed, stroked, and rubbed different parts of the plant using a variety of exquisite techniques...
The masterful and rhythmic manipulations left Han Ning dazzled. He cried out in his heart, "There’s actually a method like this?!"
Under the dual effects of the nourishing hands and the soil, the "squirting cucumber" plant violently quivered.
Its roots expanded and branched out at a visible rate, sprouting countless dense, vine-like tentacles that resembled root hairs. Instead of taking root downwards into the dirt, these tentacles actively latched onto nearby underwater rocks or sunken wood like living creatures, firmly securing the plant’s body.
The main stem grew much thicker, its surface coated in a layer of slippery, pale blue mucus. Its fruits were no longer ordinary melon shapes. Instead, they transformed into tumor-like growths the size of children’s heads, covered in what looked like scales and dotted with tiny pores.
The tumors clustered together, resembling alien lifeforms. It looked a bit disgusting.
One of the tumors suddenly contracted, and a highly condensed, blindingly fast, high-pressure Water Arrow shot out from the gaps between its scales.
The vision didn’t end there. The plant was removed from the water and placed on a patch of dry soil.
The vine-like tentacles used for anchoring its roots fell off, but the mucus on its main stem did not disappear. It seemed to receive a command from the "owner of the hands." The water-spouting pores between its scales adjusted slightly, and what it shot out was no longer a Water Arrow, but a high-speed torrent of mud mixed with fine, hard dirt particles.
